1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD feature on British TV~

Sep 7, 2006

    1. I missed it two weeks in a row. As long as I get to see the dollfie one I don't mind so much.

    2. Is the dollfie one on this friday comming up?

    3. It first shows Thursday night, but it does have a repeat on Friday night. ^-^ And yes, this week's one should feature the dollfies. :)

    4. i can't wait. even though I dont like volks.

maybe they'll MENTION luts or something, despite their not being japanese?

      xoxo

    5. That isn't going to happen, since the Dollfie segment isn't going to be more than a 5-minute mention in the programme, most likely, and the general feel of Japanorama is more 'oh cool, look at this thing!' rather than 'oh cool, learn about this thing!'

They're not really interested in informing viewers about anything other than "there are these Japanese dolls that adults go mad for, and they're really expensive and 'freaky'". The Japanese part being the most important, obviously - why would they look at a Korean version of the same thing in Japanorama? (Though a Korean culture-focused version of the programme is something I'd love to see, too. Wish they'd do something like that, sometime)

    6. Well, Jonathan Ross is ever so keen on Asian culture in general, so you never know; he might do a show about Korea sometime! Since he's worth so much to them, the BBC seem to let him do this more interesting stuff. :D (He had a series called Asian Invaision which was three hour long shows devoted to Asian cinema, one of which was about Korea!)

I don't expect the segment to be detailed, but any appearance by lovely dolls at all is a nice surprise. :D

    7. Ah thank you for telling! I didnt even know the series existed untill now D: It's on at 11pm Thursday 12th October and 11:35pm on Friday 13th October (zomg) i'll definatly be watching just to see them ^.^ I'd like to see how Johnathan Ross copes with 'Kawaii' xD

    8. I've kind of dismissed the likeliness of him mentioning the korean BJD companies, even though I'd be far more interested, as they well... make nicer dolls... not that I'm biased or anything >.>...
I'll definatley be taping the next episode anyway n.n

    9. Well Cerberus Project IS Japanese, Luts doesn't make dolls, they just SELL them. I'm guessing since Volks allowed them to use SDs on their show that they have a contract to only talk about them and not other companies.

    10. OK the Episode is on tonight So I've read. Bump don't forget!

    11. eeek I can't wait to see it! ^_^

    12. Ooh! Glad I've been reminded of this ;) *guards tv from family members*

    13. Does anyone know what time the repeat is on a friday? I'm assuming BBC3 XD

    14. It's on at 11:35pm =D

    15. Nice, thank you! :D

    16. So, who saw it? I did and now my housemates think I'm officially crazy, especially after screaming things like, "Omg, a lati!" And "THERE'S MY DOLL!!" when they showed an Isao XD

    17. I just saw it - it was fab! I was glad he didn't present the hobby as stupid, or rip the piss in a EuroTrash kinda way, whilst also acknowledging that the TV audience might find it unusual. I was interested to see that the majority of BJD collectors that he showed were male too, and I also liked that it was emphasised as a social hobby, with many dolly meets etc...

    18. Ahh, well I feel mildly less insane for spending as much money on dolls as I have this week. XD That feature was much better than I had hoped it would be. XD At least it didn't represent doll collectors as geeky otaku closet fanatics, but rather as sociable happy people. ^^;
