1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD feature on British TV~

Sep 7, 2006

    1. Ok I uploaded the pertinent section to youtube.

      Here it is

    2. It was awesome to see the dolls on TV. I love seeing inside Tenshi no Sato and seeing all the doll collectors.

I really fell for one of the dolls that someone took to the Karaoke Bar. The little Yo-sd with green hair. >.< Now I want a Yo-sd more than ever.

    3. Thanks for that clip, so many gorgeous and adorable dolls. Especially liked seeing a lot of male owners interviewed, since this hobby seems so female-dominated in the West. The "worshipping" was a bit much, like others have said, I mean I wouldn't exactly say "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love For You" is a song one would ever hear at a church or something :sweat And wow a hotel ~.~ wonder how much that's going to cost..

    4. Thank you for sharing that clip - I was excited to see inside Tenshi no Sato, and to find out that they've even added a hotel on the same grounds. (Makes me want to brush up on my Japanese! :) )

It's a great clip to show to people who might think that BJD's are children's toys - and then show them that this 'hobby' is exclusive to adults. I look forward/dread the day when my first doll comes because I absolutely believe my mom will freak. (She's not really into anything *asian* that my brother and I do.) It would be great to show rather then tell a bit about the background of dollfies. Thanks again.:love

    5. oooh how interesting...I still feel that people seeing this outside the doll world would go "eh?? O.O" but it was rather well presented, and it was really cool seeing into the volk store and them sanding the dolls and such :D

    6. Thank you for sharing. :)
Rather neatly done segment; I'm curious to see if collectors in the Asian countries would agree with their portrayal of the community. I thought it was fairly respectful, although the bit of psychologizing at the end was odd... wouldn't SDs be the *result* of a declining fertility rate, rather than a cause? Although one of the men at the meetup commented that dolls were especially nice if you didn't have children of your own.

    7. thank you for sharing^^
I really appreciate it^^as it is much more than what we get here on t.v.

just a small amount of shots on the news forecast last winter, the day of the most famous con here. just catched some members of the spanish forum that were around but treated the subject pretty much as " weird stuff for stupid freaks spending insane amounts of money"

    8. I didn't know they're was a hotel O.O
      Awesomeness, thanks a bunch!

    9. thank you for uploading ^0^ !

    10. IT'S ON NOW!
i managed to get my kronky dvd recorder to work! YAY!
      The dolls are on NOW!
They're showing a naming ceremony too!
(super dollfie HQ with a dollfie hotel!)

    11. Thanks Donna for uploading the segment.

How did you locate the original show being you are in the USA?

So fun seeing the Japanese having their own doll meets.

(I would love to see the entire series.)

      Cool FDQ was mentioned too.

    12. torrents are a wonderful thing.

Gina, that's how I keep track of my UK shows, but I use a private tracker. Then it was fairly easy to make the clip and upload it.

    13. hm, I watched in on BBC3 last night....didn't think it was that great....was quite cool to see Jonathon holding an MSD (Mario?) but other than that was kinda boring and a bit 'look at these obsessive Japanese people!'

still, there were some pretty dolls!

    14. Surely nobody could think that doll collectors are weird, after having just heard that host guy singing the doll ceremony song in VERY bad English. :sweat

    15. The whole of his show is done in a very tongue in cheek manner. That being said this is his second series of shows there and he does show parts of Japanese culture that you might not have exposure to.
I think he's fairly interested in the odd side of Japan and always shows it in as best a light as he can.

    16. I totally understand that it's tongue in cheek (as was my comment, BTW), but I can also understand now why some other people who commented on the show in general said they don't like his voice. :sweat

Thanks for the upload...it was lovely seeing all the beautiful dolls!

    17. :) Cheers!

He can be annoying... I think I'm used to him now... (*_* )
      I should be worried.

The dolls did indeed look amazing. It was worth tracking down.

    18. I like his style, he's relaxed but still enthusiastic...it's a skill!

    19. Ha HA, that was great. The cutest cult indeed. xD
