1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD feature on British TV~

Sep 7, 2006

    1. Yes, the doll burning at the start of the documentary sort of gave me a mild shock too. Fortunately, Super Dollfies are not part of that ritual. :sweat

    2. I've always thought so. Where do you think the soul of your doll comes from? It's a part of yours that you willingly instilled into that resin figure.

...hmm, does this mean if you sell one of your dolls, you sell part of yourself along with it? :o

    3. As much as i'd like to discuss that, i know that this forum doesn't really look well upon discussions about "belief and faith" so if you like you can PM me on Yahoo...name there is Comicbookartistboi, or on AIM it's Evilerniekiller, and on MSN, it's [email protected]... LOL Just PM me and we can discuss it. I really don't want to make the thread go off topic LOL

    4. OOoo that full filled my deepest desire. Muahahaha... ahah, actually I think it explains really well what this hobby is.

Haha, We're a cult now. XD

    5. XD I will have to remember to make that point if ever I need to defend my "cult." Of course you probably know as well as I do that the reaction to such a point would be " " ^_-

    6. I'm guessing they were talking about daruma- a doll that has the power to grant wishes. Once the wishes are granted, they are burned on a designated day in a respectful ceremony.

    7. Don't kill me, but I thought the birthing ceremony was kind of cute, but at the same time sort of creepy. :<

    8. *-*

I smiled like an idiot aaalllll the way through that XD
Mum thought it was cute <3

    9. :D yay - happy ppl - :D and i'm happy to read that parents participate and find this cute yay :aheartbea

    10. I like the video, but I don't like Jonathan Ross.

    11. That video is ok ^^; but I don't know if I'd show it to someone I was trying to explain my love of BJD ... just because not everything in that video applies to me. I don't want anyone to think I worship super dollfie or have joined a "cult" o_O;. I simply like cute things, and I really love making my own story characters... so I like BJD :3.

    12. Yay doll cult! XD Actually, that video was really entertaining :3 If my mom wasn't easily freaked out by "cult" stuff (as am I, but I don't really think this is :p) I'd show it to her. I really want to go to Japan. Mostly for other reasons (I'm hugely into WWII history, manga, and nature, so Japan is just one big awesome-fest for me), but dollfie stores wouldn't hurt ;)

Also, I never knew Japan was having a low population problem. I thought it was just the opposite! Guess you learn something new every day. ^^

    13. yeah, that cult thing was really odd, as if we're dressing our dolls in someone's image and doing voodoo on them or something

    14. Awesome!

I didn't know Volks has a hotel for guests! Now I know where I'm staying for my vacation.

    15. I really enjoyed this. I don't know much about Jonathan Ross or whomever, but it was nice to see Volks' philosophy at work.... it explains a lot. I like the spiritual side of the whole doll thing. One can naysay and all, but I get it!

    16. :) I didn't understand what 'Tenshi no sato' was until I saw this video; it's very interesting how dolls are taken so seriously in Japan! :o

    17. I found it to be very interesting. I was unaware how much of a roll dolls have played in the over all history. Truely dedicated doll owners for sure.

    18. Ah, I've watched that. It came out a while ago. And some of my friends who liked the last Japanoroma series also watched it. I gotta say though... for people who don't really like dolls, it might be a little creepy... o.0;; Cuz I know that my friends found the whole birthing ceremony kinda weird, even though I tried to explain that it's really not that weird... Though even I found the last end comment about the lower birth rate thing kinda odd. o.0;;;

    19. yeah, I just showed my parents the video. and Mom thought the Birthing ceremony was a bit much. But, eahc to their own. It would be kinda neat to see anyways. The lower birth rate thing was rather funny though. Great population control. Get dolls. :sweat

    20. I watched this a while back and I don't like the slant they put on it...yes the mentioning of "cult", the replacement child idea and the low birth rate. Certainly you can cover dolls in a hundred different ways, but their focus was slanted towards making it seem odd. :|

When I first found DoA, the Doll Marketplace really freaked me out for that very reason. Sellers chipping off little pieces of themself and selling it to the highest bidder.:shudder I have to remember that not everybody believes that they give their dolls a part of their own soul.
