1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    4. I would think part of the problem is that some doll companies are not in China. Weren't or aren't there some trade sanctions between them? Maybe that is how this guy is getting away with it. That brand Oueneifs is all over Ebay for dolls and doll clothes, wigs and accessories. Maybe we could boycott the rest of his products as well?

    5. And this: From China Trademark Law,

Article 13 states that registration shall be denied and use prohibited for any mark that is a โ€œreproduction, imitation, or translation of a third partyโ€™s famous trademark which has not been registered in China and where the goods are identical or similar, which may cause public confusion and damage the interests of the registrant of the famous mark.โ€

I did Tweet @realDonaldTrump about this counterfeiting. I know this hobby is not as huge in the US yet, as it is in the Orient and Europe, but I believe it will be.

    6. Hello. I'm owner Lee of the COCORIANG.
I will answer about the illegal Chinese trademark registration issue.
In Korea, doll companies are gathering to prepare for a joint response.
I've reported it to the state agency and a lot of companies are gathering for solved illegal trademark!
COCORIANG, Migidoll, Peakswoods, Rosenlied, TTYA, DARAK-I, Be with you, Sadol, Chicabi, KUKUCLARA, D.I.M are together.
The lawyer says more than a year is needed for solve this issue in China.
But in other countries, It requires a lot of support during this period.
It's breaking the power of many creators.
I can objectively communicate the progress of the trademark invalidation lawsuit.
Because I'm working on this as a representative in Korea.

    8. Thank you so much for taking up some of your time to come here!
We've noticed counterfeits sites show up in google results in quite good positions, for example, if I search for "cocoriang bjd" peppi's recast shows as the 5th result for text and Tobi's recast as 3rd for image. Have you thought about reporting google about copyrights violation? It needs to be done by the right's owner, so if you could talk with your lawyer about it, it could prevent people who dont already know about recast from finding them.
Here is the link for google reporting: Removing Content From Google - Legal Help
You just have to choose "web search" and than "I have a legal issue that is not mentioned above" and study the options with the lawyer.
Keep up with the good work, fighting!

    10. cocoriang - so glad to hear that there is definitive action being taken. I know this situation will rumble on through the courts (in many different countries by the sound of things) for possibly years to come but please know that there are so many of us willing you on to success. This whole business is shocking but I cannot believe this person will triumph in the end.... it's just so sad that you have been pushed to defend what should legally always be yours.

    11. has anyone heard about Luo now copying company head-plates as well, who can confirm it? If so, that's just even more despicable!

    12. The person who mentioned it on facebook also showed pictures from Luo, so thats confirmed. Luo also copies the Lati metal plates and the Iplehouse stickers (although in a wrong color, green instead of the current blue/metal silver).

    13. it's really sad :( Luo's really going to a lot of trouble to be a piece of garbage...

    14. From what I know the stickers were copied for sometime already and not only by luo, someone mentioned asking for the transation print to verify the doll legitimacy but someone with multiple dolls could have a legit and other recast so I don't really think thats trustable. You should weight all factors, including the seller trustability before buying a doll.

    15. I heard about the copied head plates on facebook and instagram.
I know some counterfeiters did this, but it seems Luo is as well? It's a shame... Not only would it make it easier to people to sell the recasts as legit secondhand, but I imagine it would be easy for newbies to be scammed into thinking they got a legit doll at a good price and selling it as a legit unknowingly. :(

I suppose from now on, any doll I get from a company directly, I'll be printing a lot of stuff off to save in the boxes as well, in addition to all the stuff you get from the company... it's not fool proof either, I suppose, but... I don't really have any ideas other than that. :sorryI really hope something can be done about Luo.

    16. I don't sell any of my dolls, so I don't think it's very fair to say that only people who have sold dolls before are trustable. So what else is there aside from certificate of authenticity (not all dolls had them before 2014?) that would make a seller "trustable" if these Recasts now have the name plates! This just adds to the horrible potential of mistrust for the second hand market.

    17. It's a terrible thing for allot of people who have been in the hobby since the beginning (like myself), I have two Volks dolls that didn't come with COA's but I knew the person selling them and they did come with their original boxes (sadly I no longer have them) and their official Volks care guide bookelts (which, to my knowledge, no recaster has bothered to make fake copies of), so there is some hope for the non-COA dolls on the secondhand market but you NEED to be able to track the history of your doll.

    18. I never said that? Someone can be trustable if you know them, or other multiple factors.
The original box is also a good way, but it kind depends of the company too.

    19. I'm sorry, I misread "seller trustability" as someone who has sold dolls previously. I don't want to sell any of my dolls, so I don't have feedback thread like others do. I also buy my dolls directly from the company, so I don't make purchases on the secondhand marketplace. But if I wanted to in the future I'm afraid this situation will make it even more difficult..

    20. This does illustrate the advantage of using the DoA Marketplace to sell a doll if needed. The Sold Dolls Archive now stretches back to 2012 and those threads are never deleted (this is why editing the contents of those threads once a doll has been sold is against MP rules). It is possible to trace some dolls through several owners using the archive and member feedback threads. I now make sure I mention exactly what I sold or purchased when I leave feedback so there is a better provenance trail. This is also why DoA does not allow user name changes, multiple accounts or account sharing. It's hard enough to feel secure making a secondhand doll purchase, but we do try to make it possible to verify the reputation of a seller.
