1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD Orbyrarium Discussion Thread

    1. Same here - I don't have my book yet, but I'm not particularly worried - it'll show eventually, I'm sure. I ordered the day (maybe the day after?) they were first put up for sale, so I'm sure I was one of the first to buy one.

    2. The only thing I felt was missing was a faceup tutorial NOT using and airbrush.
      That's my only real complaint, I guess.

    3. My book came today! the envelope was ripped open partialy, but the book itself was fine! It looks so pretty as I sit here and look through it! lol

    4. I haven't recieved my book either :( But i ordered it with an old address and just changed it recently so that might be why it's taking a little longer to process

    5. My book came today, I am in Washington state. The envelope had a small tear, but the book is fine (I love my mailman Brett, he's a sweetie). Have not had a chance to really look through it, but I will soon.

    6. Yay! :D I got my copy!

      Ugh! :ablah: Add me to the list of people whose book was damaged in shipment. Sorry, but I'm really disappointed by this - it's a really amateur mistake. The entire side of the envelope was ripped open and the covers (with the lovely photos of Liebchen on the inside) got bent. I'm just thankful that it was delivered BEFORE the thunderstorm started. If it had been caught in the rain as packaged it would have been toast.

    7. as I posted before I received mine today but did not say how the envelope was.. my envelope was tore on the corner and the book was damp..not sure why.....

      I side with the person that said for the shipping we paid the envelope could have been padded...a thin envelope like the one that was used is not sturdy enough for such a thick book....they are good for magazines, papers..but not a thick book..better care could have been taken as something like these will not withstand the handling the PO dishes out.

    8. I agree Tiffy, I would have liked for them to include a tutorial for those that don't have an airbrush. I guess the artist's they selected use them so that's what you get.

    9. Yeah, couldn't they have used a Tyvek envelope?

    10. Hi, I ran this by Karen C, and she said it was ok, so I thought I might post a link here to my Flickr album w/ some more photos of the Orb Liebchen. These might give a clearer idea of the details on the garment, as well as the pieces that are included, as these photos show the outfit without the corset on top.

    11. is the wig made out of paper?

    12. Yup! Museum displays are often made using mannequins and paper wigs. Pretty nifty!

    13. I love the paper-ribbon wig! I think I must experiment with making wigs of ribbons. . . but I have several other things to finish first . . .

    14. It's been a week since they cleared payment from my debit card, and the book still hasn't arrived ;_;

    15. with me, that thing would stay nice for about 15 minutes, a day tops. :/

    16. Well the trick is to use laquer or some sort of stiffener to keep it more resilient. i plan to make some more for my girl when it gets here. I am also making some of those for a play i am doing soon. When I do...i will make a tutorial and put it in the sewing/wig making section. Its really not that hard!

    17. It's designed for display, not play. =^^=;

    18. Fear not.. I haven't recieved mine yet~ T_T;;

    19. It's been a week too and I'm still patiently waiting. Then again, my order number was 1902. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it until next week, but I can wait. Really I can!

    20. My book just arrived - the package had been ripped open, and the book shoved back inside and the package then re-taped. :\ The cover of the book is also ripped mostly off, and bent all to heck.

      It looks beautiful, though, and the articles I've glanced at seemed really interesting.
