1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD's Under $300 (as of June 2006)

Jun 1, 2006

    1. Arkhangel Hamatiel - well...it's not in the first post because Bobobie didn't even exist when that post was last updated...

      Anyway...

I updated the list I made in October so now there are new dolls (and some changed prices) on it^^ Just follow the colored asterisks :)

      first part
      second part

    2. Well, it is a old post, so there are more dolls under this price.
For example, AE,DZ,AA,AOD etc.(Most of the Chinese companies)
Some doll made by personal is among 350.
      Including 60 cm.

    3. My AbioAngel boy only cost $250 including shipping ^^
He came with free eyes, panties and defult face up.

but since i bought him on DoA(he is new, i just bought him from a seller =P), I'm not really sure where you can get AbioAngel dolls. the official website is just a VERY long picture, that's it. ~.~

    4. lamira - oh thanks, I'll put her on the list^^ Actually I thought that the $288 was just a promotional price since their initial price was well above 300^^

CandyFlossLoli - Divinitydoll sells Abio Angels - they're already on the updated list (seen a few posts above)

    5. yeah i tought that too, they where 288 in the beginning, and suddenly they where 350.
some people where complaining in the news or discussion tread, and i lost interest too, but when i looked yesterday, i saw that tey wher 288 so i guess they changed the price back...

    6. wouldn't it be better to have a size-relative low-cost doll thread? i mean the point that people are getting at when asking about dolls under 300 dollars is that they feel it's too expensive for dolls that are SD/SD13 size, and paying 700 dollars. So wouldn't alot of those people feel that a tiny at 330 dollars is a bit expensive?

Maybe it should be "SD dolls under 300 dollars, MSD dolls under 200 dollars, Yo-sized under 200 dollars, and Tinies under 100 dollars.". cuz personally, i would never spend 330 for a tiny. That's almost as much as a Luts Girl body.

Also, i didn't see Dragondoll mentioned here, and there, you can get an SD sized doll for 275 :) And they are GORGEOUS

    7. I agree with comicbookartistboi that this would be very useful. Personally, since I'm saving up for such an expensive doll, I'm tempted to purchase a low cost alternative while I wait. The thing is I would like an SD-SD13 size doll, but I'm willing to spend more than 300. So maybe there can be a definite max price, but then different price points within the different sizes. Just a thought :)

    8. Don't forget Abio Angel! www.divinitydoll.com

They are hard to get sometimes, but you can find them second hand. I got mine from a canadian seller so it seems more (came to 355 canadian, but that's because I got white skin..normal is much cheaper)

    9. Thanks for this post.....I am a newbie so it's a good starting place for me.

    10. I think this thread is a little disappointing in that people wanting a more "inexpensive" bjd don't necessarily want tiny little 6" dolls or expensive versions of Barbie.

I was hoping to see inexpensive companies that produce good SDs or even MSDs; such as Demon Garden, AOD, Doll Family, Fantasy Doll, & Bobobie/Resinsoul.
I have a Dollstown ($625 total), and I have a Demon Garden ($217 total) and I LOVE the quality of my DG body!! Love it!!! He is so smooth and poses extremely well, he is much better than my Dollstown girl body, who has many cons about her and she's not silky smooth either, she's got a roughness to her.

So anyway, how about some inexpensive SD dolls?

      EX: Happy House
sells inexpensive dolls: Angel of Dream, Demon Garden, Doll Family
      Bobobie
      Resinsoul
      Fantasy Doll

      Thank you

    11. There's always the Puki Addiction.

    12. I've had two B&G SDs and I have LOVED them! They could stand right out of the box, the resin was great, I loved the faces, and now that B&G has released the type 2 body they look even better! Their base price is $330 and plus shipping came out to $372. this also did not include a face-up (but I love doing the face-ups myself, it helps the bonding process). Like DanceCat said about comparing her Dollstown and Demon Garden dolls, I think I like my B&G dolls more than my more expensive Iplehouse girl. I bought the body and head separately for the Iple girl so I paid more than the cost of a full doll and I bought the body before the currency changed and the price dropped on iplehouse, but even then they are $450 at the moment (not including shipping or face-up). Not just that, the B&G girls came with sanded seams while the Iple girl had very noticeable seams. The Iple body was also so floppy. she wouldn't stand and her torso would pop out of place.

But I must agree with DanceCat. I somewhat expected to see more listings for SD and MSD sized dolls that fit the 'under $300' topic since that is what people are asking for when they are looking for 'cheap dolls'.

I love my 'cheap' girls! Not because they were less expensive than other dolls (although that was a nice perk and I wasn't searching for 'cheap' dolls either) but because they are just wonderful dolls!

    13. You know, not more than 10 posts above yours there is a link to a full, updated listing of larger, SD sized dolls below $300 (as well as minis and tiny dolls). All the companies you linked are already on it.

      HERE

I would appreciate if people read the last pages of this old thread before they complained about the lack of some newer companies. When the OP posted this thread Bobobie, Fdoll, Resinsoul etc didn't even exist *_*

    14. It was an honest mistake. These things happen. Sometimes these threads get so long it's easy to miss a page. And in all fairness, most new people (for whom this thread was likely intnded) won't search for these threads anyway. They just create a 'cheap doll, please!' thread to all of our annoyance and then just spurr on heated debates. It would help if the thread starter would update the first post or at least link to a poster who will keep the list updated.

    15. It's a great thread. It allows more people to join in the hobby. If you want a specific doll or a more expensive one, you can always save for that instead. If you need to be more on a budget you can still get a doll. From what I'm reading quality is not always determined by price (as is true for many things) so are some people saying the less expensive dolls are inferior and are ruining the hobby?

    16. Lost Angel makes very affordable dolls. They're a new company. I bought one of their 1/3 boy bodies, and am very pleased with it.

    17. These links were helpful...Helping in making the decision of the first to take the plunge with!!

    18. This may be somewhat irrelevant, but as I was going through the links I noticed that leekeworld got reported as an "attack site"? Found it rather annoying that I kept getting warnings as I was trying to navigate the site.

Anyways, nice thread you posted there, helps a lot for people on a tight/lower budget.

    19. As often as this question comes up, it would be wonderful if this was a sticky, preferably with the first post kept updated occasionally. My cousin asked me to help her find a mini size doll she could afford, and I KNEW I'd seen this thread, but after over 30 minutes of fussing with the search function and going back several pages in this area never found it and ended up going through the list of company links instead, which took an age.
