1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BlueBlood Doll Discussion

Apr 5, 2009

    1. I let out the most mature and highly attractive squeal when I saw that update. Argh. That tan is awesome!

    2. And when Nick got sick, Little Nick posted to him.

    3. LondonAfterMidnight: I have a JeiDoll Ashford and a BBD Valentine. The resins do not match. Ryzel (BBD) is the peach skin and Quin (JD) is what I assume is their normal. They both have that lovely translucent quality, but it is different enough that you couldn't swap the parts without it showing. I don't have any good shots of them for resin comparison but I could try. Be advised that my camera hates me on the best of days *sigh*.

But here's a shot of them anyway.

    4. *peeks into thread, then waves*

Made the final (2nd and 3rd in one) layaway payment on the tan Waltz fullset last night, and Medusa said she'd ship him next week. Can't wait~! ^_^

And I'll admit, tan wasn't my first choice ^^; especially for my first (full) doll...but I really really wanted a Waltz, and I have no clue how long it'll be before I actually have Marketplace access. *laughs* But I'm sure I'll love him ^.^

    5. I am looking into considering getting a doll from Blueblood in the future, and figured I would come here and ask those who own them what they have to say about them. How is the resin? How is the quality? That among god only knows how many other questions.

I have been considering a BBD or one of the dolls from the small handful of companies they sell for...
I know I do kind of got my eye on the Jie Altair at the moment....he's taunting me I tell you...>.>

So tell me about them a bit....:)

    6. I have both a BBD and a JeiDoll (although I did not buy my JeiDoll from BBD but from another US dealer). I am exceptionally pleased with my BBD Valentine. Medusa was an absolute dream to work with and her customer service is excellent, prompt and very friendly. The resin is very nice with a slight "tooth" to it and the doll itself has a good weight to him. It is environmental resin so it has a lovely translucent quality to it. The jointing is very well done and my boy stood easily straight out of the box. He poses well and the face-up Medusa did is good quality. Shipping was very fast and I think he actually spent more time held hostage by the evil Canada Customs than he did actually enroute to me.

As for JeiDoll, the one I have is also environmental resin but it is not a match to my BBD (Ryzel is peach skin and I assume Quin is JD's NY). The resin quality, feel and weight is very similar to BBD though. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the advertised default face-up is actually perfect for Quin's character AND body blushing on his torso was also included for free (I don't know if this holds true to the dolls sold through BBD). He stood easily straight out of the box and also poses well.

    8. Hi,

I purchased my first JIE doll, MSD size with face up and blushing and was pleasantly surprised. I think it's a great body that poses well and holds its pose. The face was great. It is a higher quality than I had expected and I am very happy. Lummikat

    9. Hi everyone, gonna squeak in and add my guy Julien here... He's my first boy and the Valentine sculpt. I think he's absolutely awesome and love the translucency of the resin. He has the company face-up by Medusa who was a dream to work with. I think these guys are so pretty but I see so few pictures them.[IMG][/IMG]

    10. Here's Ryzel (Valentine) with his partner Quinlin (Jeidoll Ashford). I really need to make time to take more pictures of them *sigh*. And I totally agree that Medusa is absolutely lovely to deal with.

    11. Iron_Dog - Haha...looks like those two are up to no good..Yes take more pictures! =)... I love seeing other Valentines (and all of Medusa's boys). Something about them just makes me smile. And I love that you have a long wig on your boy. I'd like to get one for my guy too.

    12. Ryzel is always up to no good. He's an Incubus. He can't help but do bad things. It's genetic.

His wig comes about mid-thigh on him and is from Cool Cat. Quin has a slightly different wig now (ironically from BBD) as the one in this photo, while the perfect colour, seemed thin over the ears for my tastes.

Quite a few of my boys have long hair and 2 of them actually have hair past their ankles. Those wigs are a little bit of a pain in the butt to deal with (hello tangles) but their character demanded that so....

    13. I can only imagine what Ryzel would be up to....haha. I bet he's a really interesting character. I'm going to check out the Cool Cat wigs. Thanks! My guy (Julien) is so tired of waiting for me to get the right "one" for him he decided to dig into one of his buddies wigs...gorgeous but not for him. It was a gorgeous rats nest. Do you get all 9/10 wigs for Ryzel? (Julien squeezed himself into this 8/9) Sometimes I find awesome stuff but it's always too small for his globe noggin.

    14. Ryzel and Quin are from my novel, Blind Desire (available through Torquere Press). There are also free-reads from that universe posted to my author LJ (http://id-locke.dreamwidth.org/26950.html) that feature not only them, but others in that world, too (whom I also have as doll but are OT for this thread).

I believe I bought the 8/9 size from Cool Cat. I had gotten him a DZ wig (in 8/9) originally and I swear if I looked at it sideways, it popped off his head. The Cool Cat wig stays on well.

    15. Has anyone put their Blueblood head (any head) on a different body? I don't really care if the resin matches, I'm just going through a serious love-hate phase with my Waltz (love him because he was my first doll, hate him because he's hi-liter yellow and see-through...) and want to completely change him around.

    16. fidelis - your Waltz is that yellow? How long have you had him?...I haven't changed the body (or head) out on my boy...sorry I can't help here.:(
I hope someone can help you out...

    17. mdonline03, it changes depending on the lighting, of course, but by and large he's very yellow. I've only had him for a year, two years this year, and I've taken him outside maybe twice. I'm thinking I might get him a Ringdoll body, since they're made of the same thing. Still undecided though, I might just suck it up and do nothing, haha.

    18. fidelis, can you take pics? I have two Blue Bloods in different colors, but I haven't noticed any yellowing in the two years I've had them. Maybe I don't know what I'm looking for?
