Bobobie Ophelia ~My Critique :) (Nudity)

Apr 11, 2007

    1. I hope it matches! :D I think this body, even with it's quirk or two is an excellent canidate for hybrid dolls. :)

Dennis quotes a month turnaround, and it should be around there. He seems to be picking up steam with his orders, so hopefully your girl's body will be on time. :)

      :D Good luck!

      ~Anrui

    2. Color-wise it probably won't match very well- the Nabees are WAY yellow. But it will probably be at least as close as a DDII or Obitsu and looks a lot nicer (I have a DDII and have had Obitsus in the past-- both are ok, but I like the weight of the resin bodies). Once the body is made up and the head is made up-- the color probably won't be any more 'off' than I am once I get a faceful of makeup in the morning. :)

and if it is.... High Collar. LOL!

    3. Question: what is the mobility of her arms, can she come close to touching her face at all?

    4. She can touch her forehead easily, face somewhat. Arm mobility is pretty good. ^^ I would take pictures, but Weros is uncooprative. XD

    5. Just wanted to put in an update here - zingor and I received our bodies yesterday, and we restrung & sueded them. It *really* helped with that waist joint! XD

Also, in case anyone is wondering, the Bobobie normal is a perfect match for Obitsu white. Just a quick pic, but this is my Obitsu Gretel head on the Bobobie Ophelia body. ^__^

    6. Bobobie normal = Obitsu WHITE?

      *considers*

    7. Okay, by request of Dralore Shimare, I have done a resin match with every doll I have in my possession. :D

My first observation: Bobobie white skin is WHITE. There is no other tint in it.
Just to warn potential hybrid-ers. :) CP White (at least late 2006) has a creamier look, with a tinge of flesh tone/yellow.

Second Observation: There is very little difference between Soom NS, Bobobie NS, and Cherishdoll NS. At some angles, Gaia looks a tad paler, at others, the Erin and Mikel do. Going by headcaps (which I attempted to place darkest to lightest) I would say Bobobie is a TINY bit darker. Maybe. >_>

Related: Elfdoll Homme skin is dark, and is a good shade or two darker and browner then all of my other NS kids.

      Pictures:

The crew plus a spare hanging out. :)

Headcap shot, in an attempt to arrange darkest to lightest.

      I hope this helps!

    8. If anyone with a Bobobie NS has a NS CP, I'd love to see resin comparisons! I have a feeling I'll be changing her hands ^^;;

    9. Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of purchasing this doll, and your information was helpful.

      Thanks!

    10. Pardon the flashtastic photos, it was dark out.

I got my Bobobie body and here are a few thoughts.

The first thing I noticed when I saw the body was the rather...adult sized boobs.

      Bobobie meet Bobobie:

I think she scared my other dolls a little:

Second thing I noticed was the feet...man are they huge. They only fit into my boy boots.

I love the mobility of this body. The knee mechanism allows her to sit on her heels. Here is a shot of the knee joint:

After re-stringing, sueding, and adding s-hooks, she poses rather well. There are a LOT of poses that this body is capable of that my other dolls can't do.
The waist joint was really annoying at first but easily fixed by sueding.

Anyway, here is a shot of my NS Juri 06 on my NS Bobobie body.
It is lighter colored, but not much. I don't notice it unless I am looking for it.

Overall, I am really happy with it. The wait was long, but understandable. I was kept up to date throughout the entire transaction. Dennis is really awesome and I would gladly buy from them again.

    11. ...and your Eris is supposed to be a girl! :D

Weros is wearing a black t-shirt right now, which hides the boobage at a distance. He's a bit embarassed, I think. :D

Where did you get your extra s-hooks? I can't find any small enough anywhere. ;_; And did you use traditional suede, or the sillicon? :)

      Thaaanks!

      She's lovely. :D

      ~Anrui

    12. Hm. Love all the comparisons... Now, if only someone had a DoD to compare to, I think all my picture wishes would be fulfilled.

    13. She is a girl, but I still think I may dremel down some of that extra boobage!
LOL, I'd be embarassed too. I think that Juri o6 has too small a head to work as a boy on the CP bodies, but I bet the Ophelia body will work great once you get those boobs off. I can't wait to see how he looks when you finish him!

The s-hooks are from ACE hardware.

      As for "sueding," I mean hot-glue. :)
      I highly recommend it.

    14. Nice o.o... anyone with a ns bobobie know how well it would match pureskin ^^;...?

    15. The Ophelia body definately has a large bust. XD I'm too chicken to dremel, so I'll be sanding the blazes outta them instead. XD Weros is actually supposed to be a hermaphrodite, and I thought this body looked pretty good because it is womanly, but not insanely curvy. :) The fact the feet are decently big is actually a good thing, for the most part.

AH...so I should have gone to ACE. I went to about every store in town BUT ACE. :sweat

I really like the sillicon sueding technique I saw in Haute Doll, so I'm going to try that. Hopefully that helps a lot. :D Did you suede anywhere besides the belly?

      Thanks a lot!

      ~Anrui

    16. I also sueded under the hips and above the thighs (both sides of the ball). She stands very solid.

    17. Thank you for the comparisons, Anrui and Robin! :aheartbea

    18. I have a DoD Homme Ducan. XD If Anrui Ukimi brings the doll to our SoCal meet on Saturday, I'll try and take a couple of pictures so that you can have resin or height differences, if that's what you'd like. ^^

    19. I don't think that comparisons with DoD dolls are going to really help. DoD is very inconsistent in their resin color.

    20. fuminshouneko - Thank you for the offer. I'd like that. :) Both resin and height.

It's usually a lighter pinky color, so it would help me. Not many have DIMs, and the resin-batch that my girl came from is comparable to DoD skintones in general because it's so light. It's just easier for me to ask for a DoD comparison since that's what everyone has. (Mostly I want to see how much blushing I'll have to do).
