Bobobie/Resinsoul 14cm and 15cm size dolls discussion part 2

If possible I would like to request Yu spam. I ordered her a while back and want to see more owner pics of her while I wait.

 

Did somebody ask for some Yu spam? Because I forgot to post a photo when I pierced Colette's ears. Though this shot is really washed out by flash (wanted to show off the mod itself) Maybe I can take a better one later.

 

Aronzo: Out of the few Yu pics I've seen so far I think this is the only one where it shows just how adorable her little elf ears are. Thank you for posting it and the piercings look adorable.

 

Aronzo, your Yu is beautiful! I've had my girl for over a year, and the poor thing still hasn't gotten a faceup. You've inspired me to get off my bum and give her one, thank you

Has anyone sueded their tiny? Moo (she's an Elfkin) fluctuates between posing well and being snappy. If you have sueded, did it help their posing?

 

I've sueded Kiwi, and it seems to help a little bit. It also sounds like the elastic in Moo might be a little tight (Colette's elastic is tight and she's got the same issue, but I'm still waiting on her S-hooks before I take her apart for her mods/restringing)

 

Nope. Tried loosening her. Didn't do anything. I'm not so concerned with her arms and legs being snappy but I would just like to assist her with sitting and standing.

 

Sorry if its been asked before, but where's the best place to get elastic for these guys and what size? I just got Trixie dyed how I want her so I went ahead and stung her with walmart elastic from the sewing dept. Its not doing it for me lol. And how do you guys thread those little resin hands from hell?

 

Walmart elastic actually works pretty well for my tinies as long as the tension is proper. As far as threading the elastic through the hands, I just went ahead and got my girls S-hooks so I wouldn't even have to bother with it.

@Aronzo So where's the best place to get tiny sized s hooks? B/c that would be much better than slowly chipping away her resin with my sewing needle trying to get the damn elastic through those tiny holes lol.

edit: What about Dollzone's s-hook set for their BB 16cm dolls? Will those work?

 

Actually, my girls have the Dollzone hooks. They work pretty nicely, though they needed the tiniest bit of bending to fit into the arms and legs. You can get them from Mint On Card for pretty cheap, and they usually ship fast.

 

Does anyone have a blue (not skyblue) Yu? I just ordered one from DDE and I was trying to find a picture, but while Yu's seem to be fairly popular, Yu's in blue... not so much. Though I found a lovely skyblue Yu on deviantart that made me wish I'd ordered that instead. It looked so bright on the color comparison picture the site has that I didn't care for it, but it was pretty mellow in the owner pic.

 

Dunno if it counts for you, but I have an (OT for this thread) old blue RS doll from... 2010 I think. The blue is quite light and if you were to see him by himself, you might not think he was really blue but was a WS with a sort of grey-ish cast. But, when he's beside his lover (who is a CD NY), you can really tell Jolen is blue. I'd post pics of him here, but as I said, he's OT for this thread.

The old blue, however, is a very nice soft blue and I've found that you can downplay or emphasize the level of blue by using the colours you dress the doll in.

 

Thanks. I thought it looked like a light blue-grey on the pictures on the site, which was nice cuz like you said, depending on dress and wig...etc you can emphasize or downplay the blue or the grey. Do you have pics posted in the gallery or anything I can look at? *goes to check before getting a response*

I'd also still really like to see a RS Yu in blue, though, if anyone has one. Just wanna see the sculpt in blue and see how cute my little guy is gonna be. XD

 

I have a photostory posted to my LJ that has Jolen (he's an RS Jun, BTW) in it. Old wig is old *laughs*. He does look quite blue in those photos mostly because he's around a bunch of NY and tan dolls.

So scanning over the thread I noticed something about their hands being a pain to restring and something about not having s hooks? How are these little guys' hands attached if there's no s hook and they're still strung?

 

Normally Bobobie and Resinsoul send their tinies with the elastic looped through the hands and feet. My girls have Dollzone S-hooks, and I forgot to mention that I had to carve the holes just the tiniest bit so the s-hooks could loop around (the holes in my girls' hands and feet were straight)

 

I finally got around to making a box opening thread for my little Yu girl. It can be seen here http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?571948-Guppy-Love-(Resin-Soul-Yu) if desired. And here is what she looks like now that her bangs have been fixed and she got a new outfit .

If anyone has a suggestion as to where I can find her some pure pinky/red eyes I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm wanting the kind that have no pupil. I'm also interested in some little wings for her. Maybe on a harness type thing. Not sure where those would be if they exist... Thanks for any help

 

Your Yu is adorable, LaBelle!! My yu currently has pupiless eyes, and wings as a matter of fact lol


The eyes I just got on ebay, but unfortunately I don't know the size -_- They are either 8mm or 10mm. For some reason I don't remember where I got the wings, either, but I can measure them for you if you like? Also, there is no harness, just a piece of velcro that easily sticks to her clothes


edit: I remember where I got the wings. I bought different color outfit sets from someone in the marketplace for my Pukipuki, and the wings are the perfect size for yu!
