I agree, I think you should have him go to Giggles' for a while and see if he comes back around giggles. If you do give him up I just want you to make sure he goes to a really good home. :\ He's special, I don't want someone to buy him and just ruin him, yanno.

...However, on the 'absence' of that particular presence, I can sympathize well enough. There are moments where individuals choose to 'sleep' away from prying minds and eyes. As they are individuals, they have specific needs, and some are not fond of attention drained away from them. For instance, my "Simon" (I put that in quotations because that's what he allows himself to be called, but he's not fond of the name anymore -he goes by the "Unknown" more than anything else) was only fond of Alexander to begin with. Alexander was the one who held his heart, and his concern, and the introduction of 'playmates' which he himself spawned was looked at poorly, which is why more than most of them fell under a comatose slumber. They currently are without bodies, yes... but they've been here patiently for a very long time.../waiting/.

...In this situation, it's more up to you I would think. Don't hastily send him off because he might decide eventually a return is warranted.

(They're all rather stubborn, truly). Sometimes it takes a while for them to break out of their wallowing pity.

I can't say keep it 'cause inside me I think he could get a new life somewhere else...
But I can't say sell him 'cause I know it'd hurt...

Aww.... that's such a sad thing to hear about, I've always loved your Mana, from what little I've seen. (It does somehow seem a very 'Mana' thing to do; speaking of the personality the real one puts forward. ^^; ) Maybe he's just frozen or sleeping... I agree that he should stay with his boy for a little while, and see if it helps. The new sanding/painting etc couldn't hurt either. ^_~

But I know what you mean when you talk about the feeling or 'essence' of him, as some of my dolls have had such strong personalities that they start 'talking' even before they get here. *soft laugh*
I do know that it took a while for Kuro to fully "wake up" (and apparently the right colour wigs... -_-; ) so maybe some time and an image change and some love from his boy would do the same for Mana-sama?

Mana has actually been with his love for a month, and then I got him home.. I mean.. he didn't even look at Daidai when he was visiting Gigglegeek.

I've almost decided now. He is going to be rehomed. After a big make-over. So... get ready for a customized SD Ryo from me ._.U

And.. I'm getting someone to fill out the the void of the girly one.

You know, this brings up something interesting. More often then not I've shown Diomi to friends, and they either say how gorgeous he is, (in the sense of dolls being beautiful) or they say he's scary, like hes almost 'alive'.

And its true. These guys and gals do have a life of their own. Not in the Toy Story sense of the word. But we give them a name to match the particular soul or feeling we get from them. We 'allow' them to take on a life of their own, to have a soul. Even if they can't walk or talk, they speak to use and move us in ways that mere words can't!


I really hope your SD Ryo's new home is a good one. I know this has happened with me and my first doll.

And the new girl looks pretty. I'm not really into girl dolls, but she's still very beautiful!

I got Xavier yesterday.. and he was tottally different thanI expected.. He's more melancholy and older looking than the other Si's on the board.. And hes REALLY tightly strung, and he squeaks alot..

I love him, but now since his looks are so different thanI excepted, its like he just sits there...

Is there anything you guys so to help with 'bonding'? ^^;;

 

Let him sit in your lap.... or carry him around the house. You could also try writing a piece of fiction or rping his personality... and an eye or wig change, to me, makes a HUGE difference... so you could always try that :grin:

But my two cents, is to talk to him. And listen when he talks back to you. You may find out more things then what's on the surface to bring you together

 

I have a similar situation regarding my Chiwoo, but I'm sure I will finally be completely glad with him only when I have solved his stringing problems.

I'd suggest you to loosen your boy's elastic strings a bit: you'd better take his strings off and restring him completely.

I did that with my MSD boy (for about 5 times!) before finding the right length, and now he's perfect.

Chiwoo is a more difficult situation, since the kind of string I need is made only in Korea and - strange but true - is NOT a quality string at all, so I don't know where to purchase it from...

 

*comfort* I agree with Leech's suggestion of hair and eye changes... carry him around with you it's comforting to have your doll sitting on your lap so you can look down and squee periodically cos they're so cute also, I don't know if he came blushed or painted, but blushing his bod is a good way to get closer I think

 

ok, talk with him, mindly or speaking....
Call him sweetie, fi that doesn't work, call him stupid or stuff like that. Just to discover how or what he'll answer better. Sit him on your lap, kiss the top of his head a few times and hug him a lot!
Ask who he is, how he is, 'cause maybe he is a lil bit different from what you felt before ^^
