1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Bonding Issues: Have you ever struggled to bond with a specific doll sex/gender/size?

Nov 12, 2013

    1. Males over females, big over small.

      I love to look at small dolls, be it MSDs, YoSDs or even smaller, and they are fun to play with too...but I just can't keep 'em. They belong to the group of dolls I prefer to admire from afar/when visiting doll friends.
      I have tried it several times now, especially with MSDs, but I've now decided to just give up. I also sold all my smaller ones except for one, and now I have one YoSD and one MSD. Both are important characters in the story they belong to so they have to stay, even though I'm not that interested in their size. Can't wait to get them as adults :XD:
      So for me everything between 65-75cm is perfect.

      Regarding the gender...majority of my dolls are male, but the few female ones I have are usually my favourites in their group or otherwise very special to me. I have three resin girls, my Beryl, my only MSD-sized girl and my Iplehouse EID woman with hooves. Just like with the sizes I prefer to look at the female dolls of others and my girlfriend I live with has a bunch of girls I can play with, so no need for me to get more.
      With all my non-resin dolls I oddly prefer female dolls, like with Dollfie Dreams, Blythe, Azone etc. :D

    2. Unfortunately, I like almost any kind and size of doll! It makes things difficult--too many dolls to like, too little time, money, space!!! *_*

      BUT, I do have a preference for Male over Female, and Large over Small... and Fantasy over normal human. :D

      If you don't bond, it could be many reasons that are behind it. Some people swap out their entire collection, going from Mini to Large or Large to Tiny or Girls to Boys, etc. Sometimes you'll just have to see how it goes and eventually find out you aren't into large dolls (or whatever).

      That's definitely not my problem, though...! :(

    3. Hmm, size is not an issue for me, I guess. I've owned just about every size there is (except Lusion), from Pukipuki all the way up to SD16. My main issue is gender though. I find that I just cannot bond with male dolls. All the dolls that came to me as male ended up converted into females if they looked feminine enough, or being re-homed.

    4. I couldn't bond with the fox tiny that came with my first doll purchase... I decided tinies weren't for me. I also don't think I'll get another mature mini. My Minifee girl looks nice next to my DZ boys, but a male Minifee would look really odd. Non-anime style female dolls, I don't think I'd be able to bond much with them either (except my minifee who I already have) so I don't plan on getting any, even if some are really pretty! By anime style, I mean like Dollfie Dream, not like Luts.

      When it comes to bonding, I find it's really important to have them made up nicely. If they don't have a face-up, for example, or they don't have wig or clothes that suit them, I don't bond very well until they do. That even goes for if I remove a face-up for maintenance or something temporary ^_^;

    5. I found out very quickly that I prefered SD males. They are just so handsome, I love looking at them :3 I also need them to have a face-up that I like before I can bond with them. I only have one SD female, and strangely enough she is my grail doll. She's the one exception :) I bought a tiny thinking I would enjoy him, but it turns out I just prefer larger dolls. I will try out a MSD sometime in the future though!
