It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Brava Bambi (Bambicrony) Discussion Part 1

Apr 11, 2009

    1. I'm very excited as today I got my shipping notice from BC to say that my tanned Emily is on her way!!! I only ordered her on the 7th October and up until a few days ago the order still had "money transfer received"....I don't know if it ever changed to "before shipping" but now it says "shipment complete" (or something like that!)....so hopefully this one will arrive safely at my house, not like the last one....:( and I will be able to share photos of her soon.
I've not heard anything on my tanned Mae and body that were ordered on the 17th September though.....maybe the new molds are taking longer to produce.

    2. Congrats dambuster! I ordered August 9th but my tan Ellen isn't here D: Bambicrony said it's because her fullset boots are sold out, and from what I can tell they've been waiting for them for a while now. They said it should be late this week or early next week... I wish they would ship everything else and then just send me the boots @__@ But after your difficulties, I'm glad your turnaround was faster!

    3. Sharon, Yoon told me the Mae and Katherine heads/bodies would be shipped with my Ellen so maybe everything is being shipped at once for you as well, it just doesn't have it listed as such on the site. Did you place a separate order for Mae?

bronzephoenix, I am getting ready to finish my layaway for my tan Ellen and she is a full-set, too. Hopefully it isn't going to delay her shipping. You must be very frustrated.

    4. Wow, what a pretty girl pictures in here, love them all :D

Here is my Yentl with her bear Pebbles :aheartbea

    5. I just put mine all in dresses; the only pants they have are bloomers! But that's not because of sizing, it's because I like dresses a lot - lol! From what I've seen in other people's pictures, BC girls look really good in leggings. I've been meaning to get some leggings for my girls.

And Marion, Yentl is so pretty! I love her wig; it makes her look so adorable and innocent.

    6. Yentl is a vision! The tea-colored lace goes so nicely with her overall coloring.

    7. Seconding the leggings and pants bit! My Emily doesn't have dresses (at least not yet). She's only got leggings and pants and they fit her really well. So far I've only gotten her things from Nine9 and Dollmore but they look good on her. When I'm able to get more clothes I think she'll stick with more casual type clothing and maybe the occassional dress and skirt-- but nothing too fancy.

    8. You know, as much as I love Emily, I still have my heart set on a Sunday. Anyone got any Sunday spam?

    9. Thanks bronzephoenix, I'm looking forward to seeing her! She has landed in Madrid, so fingers crossed she doesn't get caught by customs as I really can't afford another 20% on top!! Plus it would delay her arrival......
I'm sorry to hear about the delay with your Ellen, that is a pain. I'm surprised that BC would hold up everything for the boots but perhaps they like to keep things all nice and neat or orders will get confused. She will be here soon I'm sure and you'll love her all the more for the wait!

Yes gracie, the little Mae was ordered separately as I ordered jointly with another lady here in Spain. She has ordered Katherine/Kathleen (?) and some eyes, I think the eyes usually take a bit longer too. But I'm fine with it, the nearer to Christmas she comes the better, then she can be my present to me from me!!!!

Wow Marion, what a lovely girl Yentl is, your photos of your dolls are just beautiful.

    10. Marion, your Yentl is adorable! I love her little bear.

thessalyrose, I'd love to see some Sunday spam, too! I wish I had splurged and gotten J-na when she was available, but I adore Sunday. If Ellen hadn't been limited, I would have gotten a Sunday first. I'm hoping to one day add Sunday, though.

Sharon I can't wait to see your Emily. You must be excited! I hope she gets there safely. I understand wanting to get Mae near Christmas. My Ellen/Mae/Katherine (head) are my birthday/Christmas/anniversary (pretty much every occasion until next Christmas) presents so if mine get here closer to Christmas, at least I'll have something under the tree to open, lol. I need to pay off my layaway, but I was wondering if I should wait another week. I'd hate to pay her off and then have to wait even longer for her to ship because of the boots.

    11. I hope everyone receives their girls soon.

Marion, your Yentl is so so so sweet!!

I have some Sunday spam. :) I don't think I've posted this one before. Sorry if I have.

    12. DancingBee your Sunday is really pretty, I am a great fan of the Sunday sculpt.

My Emily arrived today, quite unexpectedly as I was thinking she wouldn't get here until about Tuesday at the earliest! She sailed through customs without any charges, thank goodness. Anyway, I am delighted with her, she is really pretty and sooo photogenic....I took 30+ photos of her and they all came out well!
There is only one "problem" with her, she is amazingly FLOPPY!!! I lifted her from the box and her head spinned backwards (Exorcist style*_*) and her arms and legs are all over the place! She couldn't stand or even sit up, she just wanted to flop on to her back in a heap and stay there!!! I've never known anything like it in a new doll straight from the factory. I pulled up her elastic by about three inches and reknotted it, then I changed the S hook for a bigger one and then finally I hot glue sueded her. But even having done all this, her legs were all over the place when I was taking my photos. And constantly the thighs were turned to the back and the lower part of her legs were spun out of the knees!!! And this was AFTER the work I'd done on her! I don't understand it! Has anyone else had a problem like this with a Brava straight from the box? I may have to restring her using SD thickness elastic and see if that makes any difference.
Apart from that, I love her gorgeous face!! Oh and I got two beautiful wigs for her two...the one in the photo and another which is a bit too 'grown up for her' but pretty all the same. So here she is: (and the rest can be found on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9168922@N04/)

    13. Brava Bambis are floppy straight from the box. This is pretty common with companies these days as it helps avoid breakage in shipping. The twisty thigh joint is just an issue with Bambicronies in general. I've just lived with it over the years, it rarely bothers me unless I'm trying to get them to sit in pants. XD
I've never tried a thicker elastic though, that could make a difference.

Congrats, she's very pretty, I love those overalls on her. :D

    14. Thanks for that kawaii_mon, I didn't realise that because I've never had it before unless the doll was secondhand and had loosened up with play. I'll work on her tomorrow and perhaps change the elastic, I've tried this before and apart from being a challenge to get through the smaller holes in the MSD it worked quite well. But I must say it was the spinning legs that drove me mad inside the legs of the overalls!
Thanks also on the overalls, I made those for another of my MSDs and Emily set her eye on them as soon as she arrived!!

    15. Yeah, the spinning legs in pants is usually my breaking point too! XD
Let us know how you go with changing the elastic, if it works I'll be definitely doing it to my girl too.

    16. So, I'm sure this is a question that has been asked before; I just ordered my tan skin brava bambi Ellen, and I am looking at the 54mm shoe size and saying to myself "How do I find shoes that fit right?!" any advise on this? She comes with those cute white boots, but what if I want other shoes? Websites or brandnames that work would be appreciated.

    17. BaD NiGHTS, regular MSD-size shoes work perfectly for my Brava Bambi girl. MSD-size shoes can be found...well, at just about every BJD site which sells shoes. Hope this helps! :)

    18. Just like greeniebone , regular MSD or 1/4 size shoes are fine with her.
      For example;
If you go to Luts site, it's Kid Delf size.
If you go to LeekeWorld site, it's M size.
If you go to Bluefairy, it's TinyFairy size.

    20. I've now discovered what the problem is with my new Emily. I took her to pieces to restring her, the SD elastic was too thick so I'm going to have to find something a bit thinner but more 'sturdy' for her.
However, I discovered when taking her apart that she has TWO right thigh parts instead of one left and one right! Each of the right hand parts are marked with a 'B' and each left hand part is without a marking. BOTH my thigh parts are marked with a 'B'...and now that she is in pieces it is so obvious to see when trying to put her back together again.
I've emaile Yoon and now the wait begins. I hope they're able to send me the correct part and that I'll not have to wait too long.

I feel a bit like I'm not destined to have a Emily....the first one gets stolen in transit less than a mile from my house and the second one is all wonky!

      Oh well!!
