1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Brava Bambi (Bambicrony) Discussion Part 1

Apr 11, 2009

    1. :( *hugs* I am really praying you and bronzephoenix get your dolls soon! *fingers crossed for a shipping notice on Monday!* :)

    2. At least there is some good news about shippings! I guess I have been waiting the longest, but she will come and be beautiful, I am sure :) BC has never disappointed me in the quality of their dolls which is the most important thing to me :)

    3. I'm sure they'll arrive soon. I waited four months for my girl as well, and the quality didn't disappoint when I opened that box. :)

    4. I am sure my girls will be on their way soon, there is no doubt in my mind. The advantage from having waited for a long time that you know for sure that the day that she will come is definitely coming soon. I don't really mind waiting for something, even though this time I am pretty excited.

    5. Just wanted to give a heads up that I did receive tracking numbers for my orders this morning. Yoon said she will send out the fullset boots this Friday. My Ellen has the fuller bust so I am looking forward so seeing how it is different from the regular chest. I'll take pictures when they all arrive.

    6. Congrats gracie!!! *hugs* I knew you'd get a notice too! I have the large bust Ellen also and she's just awesome! I know you'll love her! I uploaded her pictures!

EDIT: link to Ellen's Arrival Gallery

      Please welcome Momo!

    7. Hi everyone. I have just recieved Katherine, my first Brava Bambi, and my first tanned doll too...

When I inspect her body I find out she is full of dots, little holes, a weird darker areas... is this normal in tanned dolls? A friend of mine says no.

I have opened a thread in the feedback forum with all the photos, would you be so kind to take a look and give me your opinion? Thank yous o much

    8. I have just inspected all my BC girls and can honestly say that my tanned Emily has much worse dents and irregularities. I loved her the moment I unpacked her, so I don't care about them. I am not sure if this has something to do with tan skin. My Emily white skin did have perfect "skin" though.

    9. guls, she is very cute! Congratulations and thank you for posting pictures of her! I look forward so seeing more of her

    10. Sakura, guls just received her tan Ellen and I believe she wrote in the Incoming thread how aside from the seam lines, which are expected, her Ellen was perfect.

I am expecting my two tans in about three days so I can compare their quality to yours if you would like. That way you can see if it is the norm. bronzephoenix is also going to be receiving her tan Ellen in the next few days so maybe she could comment on the quality. Hers was made back in August before the sales rush.

Obviously since others have received tan dolls that do not have the problems you mentioned in your post, it is not normal. Personally, I wouldn't let what others say sway you. You are the one that has to live with the doll not them. If you are unhappy, I would explain it to Yoon so she can help. Poor quality is only allowed to continue if people allow it to continue.

    11. Angeldoll those are such cute outfits. Your girls look adorable.

    12. Thanks gracie! :) I can't wait to see you dolls too!
Sakura, gracie is right, my Ellen's body had similar "defects" and it can happen with darker tan dolls. It's a lot harder to notice on light tan dolls. I had the same marbling texture on the back of the neck and her seam lines are pretty noticeable. I'm going to give my Ellen a magic eraser "bath" so it should clear up most the the sealant issues. The lighter sanded spots can be covered up with blushing and if you really want to sand the seams, stay as close to the seam line as possible and then you may need to blush the lighter areas after you sand. I know it sounds like a major pain, but darker tan dolls need that extra attention. I have four tan dolls and should be getting two more this week (yeah I know, resin explosion...4 dolls in one week) The more you work on her, the more you will bond with her! :)Of course, if you decide you really don't want to deal with the issues, you have every right to not want to. I really do hope that you will bond with your girls! :)

I'm very interested in seeing how bronzephoenix's girl look, it'll be really nice to compare and see if/how the quality was effected.

    13. I think those are common for BC tanned dolls.
My tanned Ellen has nasty seam lines, uneven skin color, dent head cap, and some barely noticeable spots and scratches on her face, so I usually dress her to show as less of her body skin as possible.
I'm very disappointed with BC quality and poor body mechanism, but I love Ellen's gorgeous face tho.

      Here is my Nyx.

    14. I can't believe Nyx has the same problems. I've always thought she was gorgeous and she's the reason why I caved and bought my Momo! :) I have to agree that I do adore this girl so the flaws don't bother me as much.

    15. Jay, your Isabelle is wonderful! I've been away for a few weeks and missed her debut. These girls have such enchanted little faces.

    16. I honestly didn't even notice my Emily had some of the same dents in the body until I checked last night, and I've had her for over six months. I think it really depends on what level of flaws you're okay with. I have dolls that have rough, flawed faces and I still love them.

    17. Turbow-- what disappointed you about the body mechanism? I'm in love with Sunday, but sometimes dolls who aren't good posers annoy me so much I don't bond with them.

    18. She has weird standing pose, her head always tilts, her legs always come off from hips sockets, and it's weird to have to pull her legs out a bit from knee sockets to just bent her legs. Those are just not right. My others dolls are never this weird. And if her face isn't this gorgeous, I would have rehomed her for the same reason as yours.

    19. I don't have to pull the knees our of my Emily's sockets to get her to bend. Or maybe I'm just used to dolls with locking knees that I haven't noticed what I'm doing?

Have you tried tightening and sueding her? I found tightening my girls strings stopped the head movement, and you'll probably find the legs won't come out of the hip sockets so much as well. Sueding her hip joints should also stop the need for her to stand tilted backwards without having to fall over, I found that fixed mine at least.

Personally I find that very few dolls are perfect straight out of the box and need some tweaking to get right.
