1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Brava Bambi (Bambicrony) Discussion Part 1

Apr 11, 2009

1. Your Nyx is stunning Turbow :) I agree on this being quite common on BC dolls. My Ellen (Madeleine) is in a much better condition than Emily though. It is the faces that I truly love though....

I'm copying this from the waiting room, since people are probably interested in the condition of the doll I got. So skip it if you've seen it :)

She's here! She is really cute. She has a lot of the issues we've mentioned... There is some white grossness from the MSC (thankfully not visible with a wig on), an unfortunate bit of marbling on her chest, and quite a few spots where they sanded and made two different colors. The worst is on one side of a leg. There's just one spot where they sanded, and they left the rest of the seams alone, but there's this huge spot of lightness just...there. Otherwise most of the coloring issues are restricted to the joint between her rear and her upper leg. And her stringing desperately needs some work, but that's simple enough.

But she's gorgeous.

3. Congrats bronzephoenix!! She's gorgeous <3

4. Congrats bronzephoenix! She's gorgeous! She actually has a much nicer faceup than mine...Momo's blush is way to bright and her lips are red...not a pretty choral but just bright red...I'm going to reduce the blush (and hopefully the lips will look much nicer then. It worked for my Volks Sora...she also had waaaaaaaaaaay too much blush on!

5. She's gorgeous Jen! Congratulations on her arrival. I know you are thrilled.

guls, you all are making me nervous, lol. I'm still waiting for my orders. Hopefully they will be here today. If not than it will be Monday definitely.

6. I posted over in the Incoming thread, too, but mine arrived today! The only problem is I paid for a face up of the lullaby head and it came blank. I let Yoon know so I am sure she will fix it. I am so happy with mine, I am already planning on my next order. Yes, I know that is bad and I said I wouldn't order again, but I guess it is like CH. Once you get an order in that is alright, you tend to forget any problems.

I will say that mine are perfect. There are a few seam lines, but I am used to that with CH. There is only a tiny area of rubbing around where the thigh goes under the rear, but that is the only place. No marbling, etc. She stands perfectly. Comparing mine to Jen's I would say that the marbling is not that common and the dolls that Sharon and her friend received were not up to par.

7. Congratulations on getting your dolls home, gracie! :) I know EXACTLY what you mean! :doh If Yoon re-releases BC Vin and BB June (or another BB boy) I'm doomed! I'm also planning to re-order from CH even though I'm STILL waiting for my august order!

8. *sigh* this is bad. I had to wipe Momo's faceup. :(
The sealant on her face was just FLAKY! And she looked like she had eczema. I rubbed the flaky spots with a dry magic eraser, but it didn't help. I think it looked especially bad sine her resin is so dark. You'd think the faceup artists at BC would know what they're doing since about half their dolls are dark. I'm just really mad...not even a WEEK and her faceup didn't last. I'm talking to a few faceup artists to see if they can take her. This just...sucks.

9. Aww, guls, that stinks! Did it happen all at once or did her face start to flake recently? After paying that much you shouldn't have to pay for another face-up.

10. I know! I'm so mad! :( I think it's a bad idea to order faceups when the company is busy (like during an event)...especially if the company is small. I know it's no excuse, but I guess it's something I'll watch out for. What really hurts is I normally get my dolls blank, but I loved Ellen's faceup so much I had to get it. :( I don't know if I should bother Yoon since she already forgot to send my Mae head and a jacket from my original order (the one that's sold out). I just feel sick. :(

11. Oh no guls.....That is just truly horrible! Did you manage to take pictures of her flaky sealant? I think I would send those to Yoon. I understand you are feeling sick. I think you should absolutely mention this to Yoon....There are still a lot of dolls being shipped out and if she does not hear about the flaky sealant, they might all get shipped out like this.

12. I totally agree guls. You should definitely say something to Yoon. I think she just got overwhelmed with all the orders and maybe she really doesn't know about it. Now, if she doesn't do anything about it, that is wrong, but she should at least be given a chance to do something about it. It is totally unacceptable you having to pay for another faceup.

I also noticed that in addition to the faceup I am missing on my, or rather Ellen's, lullaby head, I was given the wrong wig. In addition to the fullset wig, I ordered the blond bob wig you see in the pictures of Ellen. Instead I was given a blonde puffy one. I don't care for it, but since it is listed as more expensive on the website, I am not going to complain. I'm not sure it would do any good so why go through the stress. I am still waiting on an answer about the missing faceup, but I am sure Yoon will respond.

I am going to post a picture or two in this thread of my Ellen, but I'm going to make a thread so you all can see what my Ellen's body looks like. I noticed the fullset is now showing as "sold out" on the website, but for anyone who ordered the fullset and the large-busted body, don't count on the top fitting well. Yoon told me when I asked if the fullset would still fit the large busted dolls. She assured me they did and even looked better now. However, while the top snaps, there is a gaping hole where there isn't enough material to completely cover her.

14. Forgot to add a pictur of my Katherine head. I bought Marie's peach puff Ellen in the Marketplace so Katherine will be sharing her body when it arrives.

Here is a link to my photos of Ellen. I tried to show where there were any problems, but mine are in really good condition compared to what Jen, guls, etc. have been receiving. If you want, you are welcome to use them to show Yoon that soem of the problems with your dolls are not normal and need to be addressed.

15. Sorry to hear about all the problems, guys, but Gracie, I like that puffy blonde wig!

Good luck getting all your issues worked out. I hope you'll post lots of spam anyway.

16. congrats gracie!

I booked a slot to have my Ellen repainted after BC's ABYSMAL attempt to deliver a decent quality doll.

Update of the horrible sealant causing my Ellen's faceup to flake off 5 DAYS OUT OF THE BOX...Yoon just said "too bad." With no offer to fix it. BC also announced today that they will stop making tan dolls until they move to the new factory (probably because of numerous complaints) and then they will be charging more for the tan dolls.

If anyone is planning to order a tan doll, especially a brava bambi, PROCEED WITH CAUTION! I doubt I will be ordering from this company again...not until their quality control improves.

17. Wow guls, that s**cks. I guess it's hit or miss at this point.

18. I am sorry this happened to you guls :( You must be feeling gutted.

I just wanted to say my 4 Bambicrony tan girls all have perfect face-ups....no flaking whatsoever and all were bought in 2010
I just read the same announcement and it made me a bit sad. My Emily is far from perfect, but I love this tan skin tone of Bambicrony's much better than any other tan skintone and I would not trade any of my tan BC's for anything (even though I even own two Judy's). I do understand why BC has had to make this decision, but I can not help but feel a bit sad about it. Some tan skin tones are so orangey. I have a Lati Lea who looks truly orange in comparison to the BC's, who looks much more neutral.
Anyway, this is my Ellen, called Madeleine. I am glad to report that she is perfect
[IMG] Madeleine by studio_pandadesign, on Flickr[/IMG]
My Grace is now on her way home. Mail delivery is a problem though due to the amount of snow, so she will most probably take a long time to arrive. I just hope she will be perfect.

19. guls, I am so surprised by Yoon's response. She did reply to mine and she will be sending a replacement lullaby head with the faceup with the boots. She did explain that it might be a while since the artist could only do so many without there being a problem which is fine with me. So, maybe that is what happened to yours and you aren't the only one. Still, you shouldn't have to replace a faceup after a week. I can understand your being upset.

Yoon did make an interesting stattement to me about how she was so sad she couldn't seem to please anyone. I think she just got overwhelmed with orders and couldn't fulfill them as expected. The problem with the boots added to those problems.

I was on the website last night, but I didn't see the announcement. How sad. I am glad I ordered my Ellen and Mae when I did. I do love them greatly, but I think I do prefer the peach puff or white skin dolls. Still, maybe it will be for the best and the problems will be alleviated in the future.

20. You know...I'm sure Yoon is a nice person...but that response got me so upset that I almost never want to order from the company again! I really love the sculpts and this is totally unacceptable.
