Buying a Doll Because of Fetish

I've noticed lately that while I'm generally accepting of girl dolls, I am VERY picky about male molds. Specifically, their eyes.

Most companies have a tendancy to create dolls with HUGE eyes, like so: Now, on girl dolls this can be very cute, but on boys, it can just look... freakish. The closest I have seen to normally-proportioned eyes is Leekeworld's Mihael. His eyes are perfect... but I hate his lips, so I can't bring myself to consider getting him.

Oh well... I like girls better anyway.

hmm I like feminine dolls, I guess that goes into this category of "fetish" lol I mean, I like feminine females, not males!

and also I bought one doll because of her smile. It's the most positive doll I've ever seen, and her smiling face is like a little sun for me.

 

I absolutely adore dolls with Hooves, horns, or in general Different Feet. Thats why I love the AH Raul and Isac, they come with different pairs of legs (Hooves/Paws). I also love Soom dolls for that Fantasy parts aswell.

Also I love Ice/Crystal mods or parts, and I just love clear Resin

 

i'm a cat person. i have an obession with cats. real life and cat anthros~ explains my zuzu and my current longing for a pipos charlotte. D:

 

goth boys, cat boys, cross dressing boys, cute girls dressed in either pink or goth those are the things I love in dolls (and humans too lol)

 

I like large eyes and (apparently) pointy ears. Though my second doll only has the pointed ears, but I love the shape of his eyes even if they aren't huge. I'm an eye girl with mostly everything. That's why I don't care for dreamy eyes. You can't see the eyes at all or the shape of the sockets, really.

 

Lol, ookami! I was just about to say that my 'fetish' is large eyes! I definitely have a weakness for big eyes, though I love the expressiveness of 'sleepy' eyes. I have to keep myself from making my whole family look the same by purchasing similar molds. >_>;

 

I am also very picky about male dolls. A lot of males look too feminine to me, or too masculine, there isn't a between that looks gentle and sweet but also masculine. I want it to look like a guy in the face without a wig or clothes! but not so much so that he looks like a beard is going to pop out any second.

I like soft faces, that are very gentle and look very sweet. And big eyes. my favorite sculpt is lut's ani, she look stern and yet soft and sweet, sofisticated...

i especially dont like dolls that look sad

 

Hands are definitely one of the first things I look at with any doll. I like elegant, expressive, realistic hands; pudgy, stiff sausage fingers are a real turn-off.

I also love open-mouthed sculpts with teeth - and I adore cute little fangs! Not surprisingly, I have several toothed/fanged dolls on my collection - Breakaway 05 vampire, Juri 05, LuWen vampire, MNF vampire elf Shiwoo and a Volks Syo girl.

I also love dreaming eyes, and I certainly seem to have a thing for Shiwoos - I own 5 of them! So it's perhaps a little surprising that I don't (yet) own a Dreaming Vampire Shiwoo - obviously something I ought to rectify as soon as possible!

1. I don't believe there is anything magical or spiritual to my dolls... although there's some kind of magic in them... but that's not the main reason I buy one over another doll...
2 I'm not excessive about one particular thing... Unfortunately, I like a LOT of different things, so my dolls are varied and many!!!
3. Although some of my dolls are sexy, there's no one thing I'm fixated upon, again, and sexual feelings of any kind is NOT why I'm interested in my dolls.
4. I might be a tad obsessed with bjds and bjd items in general, but that doesn't really fit the OP's question...

There are a lot of things that make a doll appeal to me. They change with each doll.

For instance, I love elf-eared dolls, but don't feel the need to get a doll just because they have elf-ears or to get ALL elf-eared dolls. If I see a doll had elf-ears, it will add to the appeal for me, but I need more than that...

I HAD to get Soom Ender because he was an almost perfect Anubis to me. But if he wasn't such a perfect Anubis, maybe Anubis-like in another way, I wouldn't have got him.

So, I guess I have a lot of minor 'fetishes' but they don't drive me to buy a doll just because of them...

 

I look for nice thighs and nice feet. xD

And I'm also a huge sucker for grey hair. My eyes are always attracted first to the dolls that are wearing a grey wig.

 

I love big eyed dolls, I think they are adorable and a pear shaped body for girl dolls with on one joint in the torso.

 

Fantasy parts! I love dolls with hooves especially. And male sculpts with strong noses. I wish I could afford most of Soom's monthly collectibles...

 

I too have a glasses "fetish" with dolls. I just think that a doll with glasses looks better than one without glasses, in most cases. As do I think with real people. ^^'

EDIT: It's really hard not to make a male doll wear glasses! >w< I want every male doll I'm planning on getting to wear glasses, but that'd be kinda odd imo. ):

 

I do resist to buy them because of my limit I set upon myself however, I am very interested in chinese or japanese looking dolls whether more real or more anime, I also have the worst time resisting new dollfie dreams when they come out >< I love anime so much and if they make certain dolls from animes I like I might lose my mind XP ^whats left to lose of it heh

I absolutely can't resist pouty, full lips and a doll that looks 'average', as in, non-fantastical (although I will accept elf ears and vampire teeth if they are on realistic, 'average' human type sculpts) and non-anime looking. I can't stand the anime look, but I'm completely weak against the semi-realistic or artistically stylized (it's so hard to explain what I mean, like- realistic but stylized - make sense?) Oh, and green eyes. I've always been an abject sucker for green eyes. (Realistic green though, I hate the lime green or weird super green etc.)

I also fall hard for detail in body sculpts- especially little "flaws", like the adorable paunchy belly on my Judith girl, or my Re-Che's super long, lanky, 'underfed' looking body ^__^ <-- is a weirdo apparently.

Totally with you Sahoma- I luuuuurve the tan (but I am picky about it) XD

 

I love big-eyed dolls. Big doe eyes are just..... I also really love bigger lips. And red hair. And butts. Love dolly bubble-butts.

 

I'm picky about male noses. They have to be pointed to some degree, and not too round. Female noses have to be the exact opposite, for the most part. Somehow, I associate a pointier nose with a male's face.

I'm kind of picky about eyes: no matter what doll it is, no matter how mature or immature, they can't be too wide. Wider eyes are good, because I'm not at all into only owning a sleeping head if I can't get an awake one, too, but too wide eyes... then they don't look cute or doe-eyed anymore; they look way too excited or surprised.

I like sculpts with no defined expressions; no smiles or frowns. I like neutral expressions because they can be interpreted as being a slight smile, or a slight frown.

Also, mature sculpts need to have mature faces (just the opposite with immature). If an immature MSD looks too grown up, face-wise, then it just looks weird. And if a mature sculpt has a very child-like face (one of the DM Adams comes to mind), it just looks too weird.

And while I do like unnatural hair colors, I'm somehow more into natural colors - I'm also finding I'm being drawn to wigs that are almost in the exact same style as Emma's DM wig. Maybe some variations, like sections are up, or there aren't any bangs, but I always look at similar styles. Speaking of which, (and I've mentioned this elsewhere) I keep looking for wigs that will have a color similar to the blond of the DM wig. I just like to be concise, and that means no pink wigs are going to be around unless I get a totally different doll with pink hair.

To add: I also am getting a little more into hand selections. I don't like it when the hand selection isn't at least moderately wide. I really want a pair of ball-jointed hands, because they'd save me a lot of money in terms of what I want the posing to look like - however, they *do* sometimes look a little... skeletal, to some degree, which might take away from the overall look.
