1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Bye Bye Alice Cherry Blossom! Discussion

Sep 6, 2008

    1. Thanks Patty-pan for the kind words about my baby pig and getting Alice.

I can't wait to see her, hopefully I will soon, she is coming from California to Indiana though, so I know that takes a while.

It's so weird I have never wanted a doll so badly, I have always loved dolls but this little piggy just caught my "little girl" heart.

    2. Endorian, she grows on you the more you look at her in person! She fits in with my "family" so nicely, I'm having a hard time finding dolls I want more XD

    3. I wouldnt say Alice fits in with my family since she is the only piggy and only tiny but she is so fun to carry around and take photos off much easier then the big bjds...

    4. My only other doll with me right now is a pipos Dali, and he makes such a good big brother! They both have enormous brown eyes, I dunno, they almost look related XD Plus, my incoming dolly is ophelia licorice. I'd say all three fit together quite nicely ^^
But I agree, Alice is so portable and photogenic, it wouldn't matter what other dolls you have! :D

    5. Hi there!

I'm new to DoA. I'm also still somewhat new to the world of BJD's, and in particular ACB. (I do currently have 2 Lati Yellow Basics, Lea and Benny, and a Lati White Basic, Pury).

I'm wondering if anyone can help me locate an Alice Cherry Blossom, that's looking to be rehomed, in mint/excellent condition with all original stock and box. I especially LOOOVE the Ballerina edition, but would consider ANY of her editions. I ALMOST got one through a Flickr contact, but she sold it to someone else instead. :(

I would give Alice an EXCELLENT, LOVING home! :)

Since I'm still so new, I don't have enough posts yet to be able to check the DoA "Marketplace" for listings, so I would appreciate any and all helpful "leads".

      Thanks everyone! :)

Oh....and I am Username: DollieLuvR on Flickr, too!....Here is the link to my photostream: ;)

    6. Welcome to the world of BJDs :) ACB was the little piggie that totally got me into this hobby. Before her i only had an SD which i never really even played with and eventually sold. But after i got a piggie, i totally got obsessed with tiny BJDs. So now i only buy the small ones and anthros are my favorite.

The ballerina version seems to be the most popular. I hope you lots of luck in finding your piggie. I know it's hard now that they are no longer being made but don't give up. I started late too and it took me awhile but eventually i was able to track down all the piggies i wanted :) Sooner to later one will show up for sale. A 1st edition just ended on Y!JA (Yahoo Japan Auction) so you may want to check there too sometimes.

    7. Valerie don't give up, I never thought I would get one, I looked every night for what felt like forever. I just checked my postal tacking number and she is on her way from California to Indiana, I will take pictures of her arrival. And hope when you get yours you will too :0)

I got her on Flickr thru the Alice Cherry Blossom group. If I see one for sale I will post it on here, I just got access to the market place but didn't see any there now, but that's not to say one won't come up when you get access.

I sure wish these sweet piggies stopped being made, they are magical!

Does anyone know why they stopped making them?

    8. Welcome to Den of Angels, Valerie! As others have mentioned, don't give up hope of finding Alice. They do turn up occasionally, including the ballerina. And before you know it, you will have enough posts to gain access to the marketplace, so you can check it on a regular basis or post a WTB for one.

While waiting, you may also want to check out Charles' new piggies that he makes under his own line, Charles' Creature Cabinet. Here's a link to the discussion group: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322620 Charles Stephen is the original designer of Alice, working in a joint effort with Rainman of Elfdoll. Now that he has his own bjd company, Elfdoll no longer makes Alice.

I'm getting an Olivia Licorice to go along with my Alice. They are the same size. I enjoy the differences in the sculpts and also the resin color.

Wishing you the best of luck with tracking down a little Alice of your own! :) Susan

    9. Hi Betty (animedolls)!

Thank You so much again for helping me in my ACB search! I just ADOOORE that little piggy, but nearly always seem to jump on the bandwagon too late!...lol

HOPEFULLY one day soon she will come my way!....*crosses fingers*! ;)

Thanks again.....I REALLY appreciate the WARM WELCOME and ACB search leads!

      Warmest Dolly Hugs, :)

      Valerie

    10. Endorian,

Thank You so much for your support in my ACB search. I truly appreciate any leads you may find.

CONGRATS, too, for finding YOUR BELOVED Alice after all! Can't wait to see pics of her. :)

Do you have a Flickr account? I would love to see your photostream, if you do.

    11. Hi Susan (Cattwo)!

Thank You so much for the LOVELY greeting! Thank You also for your kind encouragement in my current Alice Cherry Blossom search.....it is most appreciated!

Yes, I have been on the Charles' Creature Cabinet website, and am actually seriously considering getting a BuBu Odoreki and have a Custom Faceup done by Sweetly Twisted, to make it a GIRL! Hopefully that will help ease my Alice search woes a bit, while I'm waiting for her to come my way! ;)

I do HOPE that Charles will be making some more SIMILAR to Alice sometime very soon.....I know he's officially not making her or her "piggy family" anymore.....but PLEEEEASE, Charles, do make some more LOVELY, white piggies like her!.....lol

Thanks, also, for the Charles' Creature Cabinet discussion group link. I will have to go check it out and get my minimum posts in, so I can access the Marketplace. ;)

Oh, and CONGRATS on your Olivia Licorice! She will be a fun and unique contrast to your Alice! Would love to see pics when you get her. Do you have a Flickr account?

Thanks again, Susan......Hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day! :)

      Valerie

    12. You're welcome, Valerie! And thanks for the congrats on Ophelia/Olivia (I keep mixing up the names - it is Ophelia but Elfdoll makes an Olivia fairy that, for some reason, I keep mixing up the names with.)

I don't have a Flickr account but did take one pic of Alice (she is the ballerina) with her baby sister Julia - you can see it in this thread:
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213058&highlight=cattwo&page=12

I think Bubu is really cute and I'm sure he'd look just as cute as a girl, too! :)

Wishing you a wonderful day in return! :)

      Susan

    13. Hey Susan (cattwo)!

Oh MY!!....your Alice Ballerina and Baby Julia are SOOOO ADORABLE!!....How very lucky you are to have BOTH of them!....Hopefully I will, too, someday! :eusa_pray

I should read through this whole discussion, but perhaps you can better enlighten me as to why Charles Stephan retired all of the Alice Cherry Blossom line? He was on such a roll with her and her piggie family! :(

Thanks again for your support in my ACB search. :apig:

      Dolly Hugs, :aheartbea

      Valerie

    14. I think it was because Charles wanted to go into creating his own series of BJD, Charles Creature Cabinet. Alice Cherry Blossom was really a collaboration with Elfdoll.

    15. Yes, I agree with animedolls' assessment. Charles Stephen is the artist whose work Alice and her family are based upon. Rainman, from Elfdoll, worked in collaboration with Charles to bring a bjd Alice to life. I believe Charles mentions that he contacted numerous bjd companies but Elfdoll was the one that really wanted to work with him on the project. Now that Charles has his own company, I don't think you'll see another Elfdoll Alice but hey, I'm in no position to know if that's truly set in stone. Charles does post on here quite often, so perhaps he'll read these posts and have a more definitive answer for you, Valerie. I'm a lot like you are. When I find a new doll I'm passionate about, I want to learn everything about it! :)

And thank you so much for your nice compliments regarding Alice and Julia! I had wanted the original Alice but found out about her too late. She was sold out already (she was limited to just 100, I believe). When they released the Ballerina and Gothic Hoody, I knew I had to get one. I actually resisted getting Baby Julia at first. It was my husband, believe it or not, that told me to get her. His grandmother's name was Julia.:aheartbea

I'm sure you'll find your own Alice very soon. It seems that when I doll is really meant for you, it has a way of finding you. And it sure sounds like Alice is meant for you! :)

      Susan

    16. Alice wasn't actually Charel's sculpt. She's by Rainman created from Charles' sketches. Since both parties owned rights, they had to retire her and her family when they parted ways.

*Waves to Valerie* Alice is an amazing doll and I know you won't be disapointed once you get your own :)

    17. Hi Darci (MieAga)!

So nice to see you here!.....Thank You so much for the knowledgeful info and encouragement in my ACB search. It is most appreciated. :)

      *Hugs*

      Valerie

    19. Hi endorian!

Your photos are VERY SWEET of your new Alice! I LOOOVE that edition of her.....is that the original First Edition ACB? That is my FAVE....and the Ballerina edition Alice.

Oh, and your little Chihuahua, Obella, is SO CUTE!! I just LOOOVE my little Chihuahua, Chiquita! She is my BESTEST....hehe.... little friend ever!!
