Well it depends on where you are in NY. NYC has monthly meet ups I believe, and I'm in a thread for CNY'er's that aren't near Ithaca or Albany. And a few thread's up someone posted a meet up thread for Albany. So as long as you're not living like way the hell up north near Plattsburgh, you should be able to find something reletively close

About Me:
I'm a 25yo Male. I like making pixel art, baking cakes, ballet and rocking out. I'm queer as - although not in practice atm. I'd like to be more gay, but dating other vegans is the greater priority and I only know one gay vegan male in this town, I have dated more girls. I think I make a conscious effort not to associate hobbies with gender or sexual identity - however I would subconsciously assume a male doll owner was gay-ish if their doll was.

My Dolls:
As yet I only have a DIM Terrence head, RS Gang is on order but I will use the body for my DIM head and float the gang head.

My Doll Experience:
I saw them on a non doll forum some years ago and was quite taken, and occasionally stumbled onto them since. Eventually I saw some steam punk styled ones and was sold. I met a cool doll girl who lives in my city and one of her dolls - so far that's all but I'm looking forward to seeing others irl.

I can't see myself owning a whole stack of dolls - prob will just get a male and female SD, although as time progresses and amazing sculpts come out it might change my mind. I'd also like to try my hand at crafting and casting one.

I never have spare money - I'm a full time uni student and temp worker in IT support, I do budget saving for new instruments and pro-audio though, which was sacrificed to buy my doll. I actually had a lot more money when I was younger, living at home and working full time (although now I have moved back home again to save money - the shame)

I actually like hanging out exclusively with girls sometimes so doll meets could be my scene + being the only guy I think would leave little danger of being ignored.

 

Just wondering...as there is quite a high number of women doll owners who have gay dolls, are there a high number of male owners that have lesbian dolls?
Im joking but sort of interested what sexualities male owners give their dolls. I have always seen my dolls as...dolls, not really personalities with a sexuality but when I got my Elfdoll Vivien I got a really strong lesbian vibe from her, but its not so much that I would do photo stories about it or anything, just as much as I wouldnt with my Soom Dia female who if I had to assume would be straight. I dont really think of my male dolls having a sexuality. Im sure psychologists could read lots into that

 

Im a dude....i have 2 dude dolls. Im gay, so i made one boy gay and one straight. I figure i can make it interesting like that. Hehe And i played this by looks. The gay boy looks gay (Camine from DOD, named Wolfgang) the second one i received looked straight (DOD Code No. 2). =)

 

I'm one of those who rp's, so I have a lot of OC's that I plan on making. My two girls right now are straight (ez and riley), my others are all in the works. My next girl is straight (katerine), I have two that are asexual (Taelan and Maka), two boys that are a couple (Phineas and Devlyn) and two boys who's gay (Serik and Kosja), two boys who really couldn't care less(So I suppose Drix would really be classified as being Bi. Dead Boy would just sleep with anything with two legs.) and one that's straight (Emaeriel).

XD I enjoy haveing character's that run the gament.

 

Pen-pen thats quite a diverse bunch of characters, you have alot of sexualities covered there

 

It's fun to get out of my head and 'try on' a different sexuality with rping you know? XD

Dead Boy is fantastic. He's one of my favorite's to rp because he's so eccentric! If you're ever looking for an rp partner, gimme a pm ^_^ I'm usually never busy, and I rp all the time

 

Hey that's really cool! I've never actually rp'd before so when I see people who get really into it I'm pretty impressed. Hey how do you keep track of what they're like? I mean with the different personalities don't you ever mix them up?

 

My thoughts too....never RP but never know. Pen-Pen, mind letting us know what is all involved in a RP??? Definately be cool to bring Wolfgang to life....he is goning to need alot of nurtiring if so. =)

 

Hehehehe. It's actually really easy to tell who and who apart. They're all from different story line rp's that I've done in the past. If you guys want, PM me and I can go into detail since I don't believe it's really allowed on the forum. (Since it's mostly for dolls instead of their character's) But I wouldn't mind at all telling you about how to/I rp and how I like going about developing everybody

Me: I'm 25, British, got two kids, two cats and a snake... I write for a living, do some graphics on the side and a bit of digital art. I'm sarcastic and grumpy and a bit of a smartass but past that I'm a total softie. Beyond the parental stuff, most of my time is spent writing and GFXing, roleplaying Marvel, playing WoW and reading comics. Dolls: Toshiya Minimee head on a Dollstown 15 boy body.... I have just ordered a new Minimee sculpt so I'll be adding another to my collection before long.

Experiences: Not much to tell, really. Hated them at first and changed my mind when I came across some Minimee dolls on devart. I haven't been to any meets yet, I don't really do the whole socialising thing anymore; burnt myself out during my teens on the underground dance and metal scenes.

 

well no, none of my dolls are gay or lesbian
the faeries are bisexual (all of them, but in the novels all the faeries are like that) Syrinx takes it a step farther and is a polygamist, though always marries faeries (so far only men) from other places and subsequently ends up with only 1 husband at a time
(a faerie can have many wives and many husbands, who themselves might have some each, its a big community) so by that extension, Clover and Ivy are, even though their not old enough to really like boys (there's no gay or straight with faeries)
Piper & Prudence are straight as they mention boys a few times (though they're still quite young)
Lily...I assume is straight due to the fact she has kids
Zoey is straight but has a crush on Syrinx (however this can be attributed to magic rather then gender, it happens)
Patrick and Sarah are straight and are a couple

Tell us about your dolls: I only have one doll, a Mnf Lishe boy named Keisha. I was pretty young when I discovered BJDs, so it was quite some time ago but I didn't have Keisha till a couple years later.

Tell us your doll experiences: So far its been pretty decent, I mean there's been the few who aren't very nice about it, but I've got two friends in the hobby and my boyfriend enjoys taking pictures of Keisha with me. As for my parents, they're the ones who got me into this hobby in the first place, so why would they have a problem with it? XD

 

@honestrabbit: I have four dolls. I don't think I've ever really gone into detail with their sexualities. I know if I wanted to pair Piper (Zaoll Luv) with another doll, it would be a boy. My boys on the other hand.. I have no idea

 

i haven't really given my doll's sexuality much thought. if anything, he's bi. it's not really a defining factor in anyone's personality, or it shouldn't be.

 

I once tried a pirate roleplay with my sister and her friends but non of us had ever RPed before and didn't know what we were doing so it failed. I think if I had a doll character Rping in a romance would be the only reason i'd think of assigning a sexuality to it.
