1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Calling all males!

Mar 7, 2011

    1. How to rp with dolls sounds like a DoA topic to me!

    2. Unfortunately, i believe that's off topic :/

    3. Pen Pen
There's a thread in general discussion about funny stories, complete with dialog. When I'm off topic, I put [OT] before my post. Then I talk about car repair. I was curious how to rp. And...consider yourself lucky. I have wanted a Tatiana doll, but was distracted by the DM Elf Mios. The LE circus themed dolls are amazing. I don't see those on markplace anymore.

[edit] actually there is one Trapeze Tatiana in Tokyo, very nice!

    4. Well isnt most everythiing we post in here off topic??? Then again, this is just males sharing experiences, thoughts, and what they do with dolls, so shouldnt anything we chat about no matter how off topic actually be on topic????

    5. Hey racoondevil! yer off topic! Actually, mods are very flexible and would simply remind us if we're off topic. I've seen doll motorcycles that would make me long for the '66 Bonneville Triumph I used to have and I'd start on that. I would put Sakura on a motorcycle. I might also make her a helmet to keep her face pretty.

    6. About Me:

22 year old Dutchman with an unhealthy fascination of the UK. Lived there for a while.

      My Dolls
      :

      None yet. :(

      My Doll Experience
      :
My partner, also on these boards, introduced me to them via her collection. Loved them from the start.

    7. Oh. Hm.. Everytime I've seen someone bring up the topic of just character's, the mods seem to shut it down pretty fast. And I believe there are still some tatiana trapeeze's left on the the website. They'r so underpopular, but I absolutely love mine.

    8. Hi guys! This thread really caught my attention..I'm just happy that there's also a big population of male bjd owners. My name is Kenneth, and I'm turning 25 this year. I'm into video games, action figures, and dolls.

I currently own two dolls, a Bobobie Apollo with an AOD girl body and a Doll Family Limited San with an AOD MSD girl body.

So far, my doll experience has been great. I met a lot of fellow doll owners in my place and became a member of a doll group. We participate in toy conventions and our doll group has also been featured in local newspapers and TV shows here in our country.

    9. Hi guys! It's good to see a thriving discussion here for the men in the hobby, however, I feel I do have to post a reminder;

Just because the topic of this thread is about guys with their dolls doesn't mean that everything else discussed is automatically on-topic. ;)

Role playing with and 'talking through' dolls isn't allowed outside of specific games in the BJD Games subforum, neither is discussing these character-based aspects of the hobby. Strictly speaking, if the post does not directly relate to BJDs, it is off-topic.

We've been reluctant to jump in here because you're fostering a nice community spirit in this thread, but please be aware, going forward, that posts that are character-based or personal in nature are not appropriate. This isn't just a reminder for this thread, the rule covers the whole of the forum. Moderators can't be everywhere so we encourage members to report threads and posts that are in the wrong place or off-topic entirely.

      Thank you for understanding!

    10. "Tell us something about you" is personal in nature and therefore off topic. For a thread to thrive, I would think it requires some flexibility. I will do my best to stay on topic. I see my doll everyday. I try to change her pose everyday also. :/

I was hoping that "Calling all males" would become something above a datasheet of male BJD collectors, instead a domain for male BJD collectors.

    11. Heres an idea. Just throw the word "doll" into whatever your talking about. Im sure that would be acceptable. Even if you just post how you enjoy eating spaghetti. Well either way. But on a side note, I just finished making an epoxy gasmask for my boy. Just need some paint and little miniature components and it will be awesome!

    12. !!!
Raccoondevil I've been searching for pictures of dolls in masks and rave gear all over the place and find only a very limited amount of pictures, if you'd like to post some pics I'd be so grateful. I'm not really assuming your dolls a punk or anything, but just a flat out gas mask is pretty hardcore. What made you want to try making one?

    13. Tells us about you: Okay, well, I'm sixteen lol, and I'm a kandi kid. I'm also gay (with exceptions)

Tell us about your dolls: In my case, just ''doll''. Daniel Rose is a Dollmore kid Calvin and after nearly three months of having him, I FINALLY got a hold of some Mr. SuperClear and just finished painting him a few days ago. He's a blond fairy and I love him. I would love to expand my collection, but my art supplies are very expensive and unfortunately, I don't know when I can indulge again. (After all, it took me three months just to get some MSC!) But hopefully, I can set aside some extra money this or next year for a new boy or girl; Probably a boy, because honestly, I want Danny to have a boyfriend. I don't know why, but there is such an instinctual urge to justify the worth of someone through the romantic/sexual approval of someone else, even in characters and people.

Tell us your doll experiences: I guess as far as the actual doll, I have a pretty similar experience to everyone else, lol. But for the social aspects, having a doll is kind of embarrassing. Surprisingly to most people, being gay doesn't mean I don't want my claims to masculinity but my choice of hobbies seems REALLY bent on destroying that for me, lol.

    14. ohhh..interesting! any plans on selling gasmasks and other accessories?? :)

    15. @danny9709=well i actually saw a doll with one on DOA and loved it! I LOVE masks and have dozens! From venitian all the way to gas masks. I love masks.
@ketti aspeghetti= havent considered it. Maybe if i get better.

So far i made the base and need to sand the sucker down. I molded it right on the face of my boy, but i have failsafes so my doll's skin is safe. Need to take pix and post soon as possible!! =)

    16. @ Umber Hey who let you in here. LOL Where are the pics of your boy I did? Love ya kid! ;)

    17. About Me: I am 46 years young, have always loved dolls (on or off topic) I have wanted a BJD for years now and just this year my Wife decided out of the blue that it was a hobby we could do together. I am very artistic so I decided to do our own faceups and clothes.
Tell us about your dolls: The doll family is growing very quickly with 10 in the house and 2 on order. I just started this hobby in February I think it was. Always on the lookout for a cool or pretty doll. Stalking the marketplace is like an obsession for my wife. LOL You can see what I have at home on my profile. :O
Tell us your doll experiences: :/ Not really anything to tell here. I can't seem to find any meetups or anything BJD based around here. Closest thing would be posting pics on FB and on DDE's wall. I plan on doing some outdoor photo shoots now that the weather is finally getting nice.

Great post. I'm glad I found it so I can talk about DOLL stuff if it happens. :)

    18. On a serious note about doll collecting. What I have right now is probably it for me. I haven't done enough with what I've got. I'm still looking for clothes, and a bit leary about what will fit (forget style, I can't dress myself in that regard). Mio needs more clothes.

    19. @kandi_slave= omg! A fellow texan! Howdy! Sux to be here dont it?! And yes, your financial predicament sucks. 3 months for msc?! Great BUDDA thats bad!!!! On a side note this hobby is kinda expensive, even to adults with a decent job. Sucks even more for those on an extremely fixed budget. ......such as an allowance. =/

    20. Hi again, heads up, thinking about ordering a Kirill, but then again, i wanna try for a girl doll...but dont wanna go that route cuz its a girl. Any thoughts. Just wanting a lil discussion going. =)
