1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Can you stand the wait for seams?

May 7, 2007

  1. No, I don't really care about seams, etc.

  2. No, because I can't bear to wait for a month.

  3. Yes, the wait and extra fee is worth it, I really like sanded seams, etc.

    1. I've had dolls come both with and without sanded seams. To be honest, I prefer the seams sanded and I am willing to pay a bit extra and wait a bit longer to get them done by the company. The service, however, isn't always available so I'm content to go without.

My most recent girl has seams, as the company doesn't offer sanding services, and I don't mind them so much. I'd do them myself but I live in a small apartment with no real access to a properly vented area in which to do it myself. I could wet sand them, but that's more of a hassle than it's worth since space here is tight.

    2. I think companies should sand seams by defaut. It looks more professional.

    3. I've already waited four months for a doll, so I wouldn't mind waiting a mere month to have the seams sanded on another.

    4. I think that I'll probably sand my girl's seams when I get a break from school
but if I was ordering an FCS doll (which I'll be getting in sunlight/tan skin) then I would pay to have it done because I wouldn't trust myself not to mess it up if they bother me later

    5. Seams were never a problem for me and if they were I would sand them myself just like I prefer to blush my dolls myself instead of paying $50+ for the company to do it.

As for the waiting, I think I'm used to it. I've been waiting for ethereal eyes since 4 months ago and I don't think they will be here until next year. So 1 month more is nothing!

    6. In My opinion, seams are normal on dolls. But if they'd bothered me on a doll, I'd just borrow my girlfriend's mask and buy some fine sanding paper... Sanding ain't no rocket science...

    7. I prefer to do most everything involving my dolls myself, so while I don't like seams I also won't pay a company to remove them. I'm cheap that way.:kitty2
