1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Carriers (carry bags, cases) for your Mini Size Dolls

Oct 5, 2004

    1. I was gonna say violin case might work, but that was already mentioned.
I believe there is hard cases you can buy at doll shops for 18" fashion dolls that have ribbons so you can tie your doll in. some even have padding and a "bed" like layout.

    2. Okies, I took the opportunity for more pictures (haha), and had Ariela model her new case for you! I bought it at a luggage/pocketbook store at my mall. The store's called Almoda...I have no idea if they have other stores or not. If anyone wants one, I'd be willing to be a mule. They had a lighter color, too. :)

(My computer's being stupid, so I can't resize, lighten, or sharpen pictures...so forgive any fuzziness! -_-;)

      "This is for me?"
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4418.jpg

"What is it? Let's see...it must be special, it has a lock."
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4419.jpg

      "It's...a giant suitcase!"
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4420.jpg

"You want me to get in there? Um...okay, it doesn't look very cozy, but..."
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4421.jpg

      "Ta-da?"
No, sweetie, sit all the way inside... ^^
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4422.jpg

      "Ooooohhh...I fit perfectly, Mommy!"
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4423.jpg

Okay, so there's this flap...thing.......I'm not sure exactly what it's designed for, but it serves a purpose here. You use the velcro strap and attach it to the flap thing, which is very sturdy, and it makes the interior where Ariela is sitting smaller....it actually sits right against her, making her pretty much completely unable to move anywhere.
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4424.jpg

See? She looks nice and cozy and secure.
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4425.jpg
Also, there would be enough room to sew/glue in some velcro straps to hold her in her sitting position, if you were so inclined. :)

      The test!!
I zipped her in, knocked the case over, shook it around gently (about the same as if you were walking and the case was banging around a little on your hip), flipped it upside-down, and gave it another shake.
Then I opened it up to check on her, and this is what I found:
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4426.jpg
She was in the exact same position I put her in, and perfectly fine. :) The only difference was that she had taken advantage of the about 1-1.5 extra inch(es) of space and moved her feet all the way to the left side of the case.

      "I'm safe!"
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4427.jpg

There's also an adjustable, detachable strap that hooks onto the sides of the case, and it's perfect for slipping over your shoulder, and is actually COMFORTABLE to wear like a messenger bag.
(It came with a mirror, too...in case you want to, um, check yourself! XD)

Inside are two open pouches (at both of Ariela's sides when she's closed in), five elastic slots to hold shoes, accessories, or whathaveyou (seen in 4425), and on the front inside (only slightly visible in 4422) there is a zippered pouch. Lots of space to carry extra clothing for travel or meet-ups!

I'm thrilled with this case! Just thought I'd share it....I believe it's considered a hard makeup case, but now it's officially Ariela's case. If you were concerned about your doll's safety, you could easily add in stuffing, lining, or even just line it all in fleece....or stuff in a couple small pillows with her :) If I travel with her for a long distance, what I would do is buy a simple small roll (or section, if you can buy it by the yard) of quilt batting, cut two pieces the size of the case, and use the two pockets on either side of her to secure the pieces. That way, if she were really jostled around, say like under your seat on an airplane or in your car or bus on a bumpy road, there would be absolutely no way she would come to any damage! :) Hooray!

    3. Yupyup! Twenty bucks! :)

I have no idea what shipping would cost, but since I'll be needing to go to the posty soon anyway, I'd charge just shipping and the price of the case...not looking to make a profit, just share the wealth! ^^

And I actually found, AGAIN at $20!!!, a really gorgeous doll trunk that I use as her armoire. I found it at AC Moore, and I believe the regular price is $29.99.
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4030.jpg
There is a layer of dust on it from the box and finish...it's not dirty, and cleaned up very nicely.
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4031.jpg

      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/DSCN4032.jpg

      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/Ariela/DSCN4060.jpg

You can also get a BATTAT bed (sold at Target, $10, for the Our Generation (American Girl-sized) dolls), and it fits a little snug, but perfect, inside...and give your little one a fold-out room! ^^
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/Ariela/DSCN4064.jpg
Folded up and ready to go! ;)
      http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c354/phantom-kitty8/Ariela/DSCN4065.jpg

Of course, you can always add velcro to attach pillows inside to travel with your dollie safely, with all of their things! :)

    4. Thanks, fairywings! ^___^

Oh, and here's that bag with the strap attached. I'm not a tiny girl, as you can see (haha, far from it, save for height ;P ), and at its full length, it fit with room to spare, so it would be great for anyone of any size to carry comfortably! And it's extremely lightweight, too, so no shoulder strain. :)

(Pardon the, uh, pajamas and lack of...my head. *laughs*)

(Hey, Phantom of the Opera fans...I know there are many of you hiding here, check out the dress (dark, but slightly visible) in the right corner. Hard to see, but it's my frilly interpretation of the Wishing dress! ^_^ (stage version, of course) )

Worn as a sling/messenger bag style

Hands-free works just as fine, too!
(My hand was just resting on the strap, didn't need to be there :) )

    5. try Dollmore. a variety, even coffin shapes.

    6. I have been looking for AGES for an MSD carrier that isn't an actual MSD carrier (ie: one that's cheap but looks good... DDE sells them for 45 dollars but here I'm going to show ya'll a few alternatives in a place you'll never think to look.... a music store

I'm going to mod my ol' flute case carrier into an MSD carrier! (And sell my flute for doll money!) anyone interested in seeing the results?

      http://www.casesandmore.com/Gator-Cases-GL-FLU-PINK-A-GC1986.html

Here an example of a flute case carrier that's more expensive (I've seen ones as low as 9 dollars this one is 30) but is in pink :D how cute!

    7. My flute case is just barely long enough for my Minifee, which is kind of short, so I'm afraid the bag wouldn't allow for the doll to lay flat. Also, it's no very padded... but it's still an interesting idea :)

Unfortunately, I would need something to cary a BUNCH of dolls in, ROFL.
