Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Changing in front of your doll

Dec 14, 2022

    1. Same here. Pictures have been an issue for me in the past, but plushies or dolls never bothered me. And now as an adult, they're in a different room from where I change anyway, so it's a moot point.

    2. This is something I've never even thought about before, to be honest. :|

    3. To tell the truth, I don't really care. Whether they are plushies, cats, dolls or random people outside... :sweat As a teen I had to stand almost naked before a bunch of men when my orthopedic corsets were made, now that was highly embarrassing, but since that I'm basically shameless. I think not lounging around undressed is just a basic courtesy and a way to avoid trouble, so to me it only applies to humans.

But this topic reminded me of the game called Nameless, where the protagonist has BJDs, and somehow they turn into real men. One of them actually warns the girl about changing before them, and she is really embarrassed knowing that they saw her undress when they were dolls.

    4. I don't mind the dolls seeing me naked. It's a very good point about me having seen them, not only clothless but headless... Although I may get strange feeling if I notice them staring in the middle of some, ahem, adult activity - but I wouldn't interrupt it to change their position
But I don't like touching dolls or plushies when I'm sick! (as if they could be infected, but actually it's because I get the feeling of dirty hands.) Which is a shame because they could lift up my moods...

@manekinekonokuni ohhh the game looks interesting, I should add it to my list!

    5. I'm shameless when it comes to changing in front of others the same sex as me. This has gotten me yelled at quite a bit in my middle school days. For many years, my dolls were all female, so I had no issue changing in front of them. I did make a point to cover them up when my then-boyfriend came to visit, as there were other activities I didn't want them to see.

Nowadays I keep them in cabinets or otherwise out of sunlight, so it's unlikely they'd catch anyone changing.

    6. I don't hide or turn them away but I have apologized to them for making them suffer such a sight. :XD:

    7. Can confirm that I will get changed in front of them. I do not feel self concious at all.

I don't tend to feel shame around changing with humans either. Theatre/cosplay background.

    8. Well, i change in the same room, but out of their line of sight.
Toy Story impacted a whole generation of kids.

    9. Huh that’s a interesting question I guess I’ve never thought about it or gave it much a attention. I guess I don’t mind and change in front of them anyway. Well and that I’ve seen them naked as I had to cloth em.

    10. It doesn't bother me at all. My room has my dolls, plushies and figures and I've never felt any sort of way about it :)

    11. I don't know if i will have any dolls in my room. I feel uncomfortable in general being looked at even with things like posters with people in it. I know it's sort of weird. I've been like this since I was a very young child. I don't know why. I hate revealing my skin to just take my coat off on a really hot summer's day. Even when I exercised a lot and had a nice body I couldn't bring myself to take off my coat on a really hot day and was sweating so much, so this makes me think it isn't relating to how my body looks. Not really sure why I'm like this. I think it might have to do with how i feel when someone is looking at me. I think it makes me feel vulnerable even when inanimate objects with eyes gazes at me. I don't think I can comfortably undress in front of my dolls. I don't even feel comfortable being undressed to shower in front of my dogs, but that can't be helped they won't stop following me. I think I would leave my dolls somewhere where their eyes can't see me exposed like that.

    12. What's funny is that for me, it depends on the doll. I've had ones that I don't care about doing anything in front of-- they're adult characters and I'm in my room, after all-- but there was one doll I got secondhand and he sat on my shelf without a box and I would always cover his eyes! (It was very easy since he was wearing an oversized cloak at the time.) Thinking about it now, I think I'd do the same with a couple I'm trying to resell. None of the rest bother me, just the ones I never bonded with. I think for me it has to do with how well I know the doll's personality.

    13. My dolls see me naked as often as I see them naked. lol

    14. My dolls have seen me at my best and worst, and have always gracefully refrained from comment.

    15. I mean, my doll has been naked in front of me many times with no complaints. :XD: When she first arrived, I kept her on a high shelf with a view of my bedroom. So she's seen me naked countless times. I moved out of my parents' home a few months ago and now I'm living with 3 cats, so she has to stay in her box most of the time. When she's out, I've usually already gotten ready for the day.

But yeah, I've got no problem changing in front of her.

    16. I never really thought about it lol but I understand why people do it.

    17. I haven't thought much about it and have no issue with it. I have dolls, figures, plush...all sorts of eyeballs around my house and not ashamed to change in front of any of them...now the living people in the house is another story haha

    18. I don’t mind changing clothes in front of my dolls but I don’t like sleep under their gaze. It just freaks me out when I wake up at mid of night and see something staring at me. So I always cover their heads or put them inside closet when I’m not playing my dolls

    19. I used to be shy and a bit embarassed to change in front of my dolls when I started collecting them, but now, I don't care anymore :XD:

    20. I don't mind either. I'm sure they've witnessed worse. My cats, on the other hand, make me uncomfortable because they stare actively lol.
