Changing your doll's name

Haha, I feel like changing both my dolls name. x.x;; I had one doll for a year and the other for eight months. I'm hesitant though since I wouldn't like anyone else telling me that they're changing my name. XD

 

My boy has so many name which my friends called him.
I name him Akaharu(first name) Ryan(Mid) since he is half german-japanese.but seem like everyone forgot that his middle name is Ryan and they keep calling he in new name like Aka-Chan,Haru, A-Chan,etc

People can cgange their name ,so do the doll. but if you do not want to change your doll name you can add the new name for him and keep calling him with that name.

After for a while everyone will forgot his old name.

 

HEHEHEHE... I'm glad I'm not the only one. The lesser-handled dolls... well, I'm not good at naming them in the first place, and I'd end up having to recreate the wheel if I didn't write it down somewhere...

 

While I realize that I posted here forever ago, I should probably state that Millet and Yorkshire never came to be, heh. I shall also state that Jay El Bate will be getting a name change when I upgrade him from an msd child body to an sd adult body. One doesn't call a 20-something looking male a name like that. So instead of that, he'll be known as Jaylin, or Jay for short (which is what I call him anyway).

Someone earlier had made the comment about how wrong it was to change the personality of a doll. Well, sometimes it happens. =D Jay was supposed to be cute and innocent, as was reflected by his name. Shortly after he nailed me in teh back of my neck with his pointy nose, it was decided that maybe his character isn't as innocent as I would have prefered. He still topples from things every now and then, but he doesn't try to take me out in the process, haha.

 

I think it's absolutely fine to change a name, if you're comfortable doing it. I just got a large Moona from Tinybear last week and at first she just seemed like the name "Moona" fit her so I was going to stick with that. And then all of sudden last night when I was playing with her, the name Phoebe just popped into my head and it fit her like a glove so Phoebe she has become!

Sometimes it can take a while for the proper inspiration to hit or for your doll to "tell' you their name.

 

My two latest boys have gone through name changes in the past couple of months just because the names I keep coming up with don't seem to fit just right. I figure until a name clicks changing the name doesn't hurt because a lot of times personality is based around the name.

 

When i first ordered my boy I called him Danny. Then when he arrived, he felt wrong... nothing wrong with the doll but there was a feeling, like he just wasn't a 'Danny'. I spent ages trying to find a name that fit him. I think I went through about 4 names. then one day I was sitting in my room just kinda hanging out when I suddenly looked at him and said "Clover" and it fit, it even seemed like he was happy with it, like he knew that was his name all along and he was just waiting for me to figure it out.

Well Clover (formerly Danny) has a new name again. For some reason I still kept calling him Danny every once and a while. But I think he has a good name now. Ianto.

 

I think Persephone Bob might get a new name when she arrives back from her face-up either today or tomorrow, I'm not sure.@@ First she was Bob, then Persephone, then 'Persephone' Bobby, then just Bobby... now I don't know.@@

 

I've never changed a doll's name * o * I don't think I could honestly because to me, their names become a part of them in a sense? I think it would almost make them into a new doll; just like giving them a completely new face.

Vestige almost went through a name change a couple months ago. I found that I wasn't bonding with him too well, and thought a name change might fix that. He came VERY close to being renamed Darcia. I called him that for a few days, just to get a feel of it, and that wasn't it either. So, in the end he kept his name, but after the almost name-changing, I got a little closer to him lol. Shows how much I was really attached to him as Vestige.

 

It took me about a day to settle on the name 'Kori' for my first doll. I had exhausted all the other names I'd thought of for him, and finally Kori just clicked in the middle of my econ class the day after he arrived.

I don't think I'd ever change it, since it suits him so well. I have been debating giving him a middle name though, but I haven't thought of anything yet.

I guess it would be similar to someone changing their name in real life. It just doesn't 'click' so to say...In the future if I had a doll and after some time that name just didn't feel right. Sure it'd be a bit strange calling him something different after so long, but I wouldn't regret it.

Names can always been changed back if it doesn't 'fit'.

 

I think of names really long. There are dolls I thought of a name for for maybe a month or so. I want it to fit the doll completly and therefore take my time. So I think I won't ever change it. ^^

My girl has had 4 names before. I still am unsure of the name I picked for her but she's got more of a personality now that she has a faceup and proper wigs and eyes.

 

I've been thinking of changing my doll's name but so far am still undecided on the matter. Am thinking of switching the name from Ealasaid - the Scottish Gaelic variant- to Elizabeth - being the English variant. But I am finding it hard to make the switch. LOL

 

I think I'm going to change my boy's name. After all the time I've had him, the name just doesn't suit him. I don't even call him by that name anymore xD But I just can't decide on a new one!

 

Forget name changes, what about doll changes? :P

I'm going to be changing the mould of one of my characters and I really want to change the name but my friends want me to keep it the same. I think I'll change her middle name and just call her by that in private.

 

Well my boy is going be a Aristocratic/Hoodie
His story complicated much... ^^; BUUUT its to be Alphonse *Born Name* and Dante for made name he said he wanted. Blame him. He change it himself. Dante name hisself Dante because he want to break free from past of aristocratic background so hence Dante he name himself!

 

My problem is I like too MANY names. I have so many names I like, I don't think a single dollie could take all of them... XD but this means I have to get more dolls.. wahh.. Yeah I think wanting to change their name is fine. I mean, you don't want a dollie whose name you don't like...! That would be so silly hahaha. I guess it'll be confusing for other people though.
