It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Changing your doll's name

May 16, 2006

    1. I do not think it is bad to change a dolls name. I am soon going to order my doll and I have a name picked out already--Wataame. I will nick-name her Wa-chan, however. <3

    2. My dolls have their names for a reason so I try not to change them. I don't think its horrible to change a name but I don't do it, I just tag on little nicknames X3

    3. I changed my doll's name from Onyx to Amethyst when I got her and realized she had more purple than gray skin as I first thought from her photos. Amethyst is also occasionally Eilazara, when I use her to represent my World of Warcraft druid of the same name. So she gets to be two characters in one. XD

Malachite / Wolfboy / Sam has gone through a few names. My friend tried to rename him to Jason when I was waffling on names, after which point I officially named him Malachite and continued to call him Wolfboy as his nickname. Problem solved.

    4. I changed my girls name after a month of owning her. I completely changed her whole character, which did take a bit of getting use to. I'm glad I did though, I like her much better after the change.

That was a special circumstance though, as normally I wouldn't be able to change their names, it takes to long for me to get use to the idea of calling them by something else. That's just me though.

    5. I did this for the first month I had Dee. The first few times I tried, they seemed too serious or reminded me of a character that he wasn't, then I just shortened it and problem solved(all his past names began with D)

    6. If the name don't feels right, then change it, why keep a name just because was the first given or if the name don't suit the character you've created, even if is difficult and at times hard to get used to. Or as many said using a nickname can solved the problem.

    7. When I ordered my 2 Volks EB Beauties I had the names picked out. Wolf and Cranberry. Well When I assembled Wolf she told me she liked the name. When I got to Cranberry and had put her eyes in she told me she hated that name...so now she is Corvas. But I have a feeling she will change her mind....again.

Edit: I switched Wolf and Corvas's eyes and Wolf is still happy with Wolf. Corvas is still undecided. I bet she is gonna change her name again. Wolf has pink eyes and Corvas has light brown. Maybe that is the problem. The eye color.

    8. Since I used the same name I had for my guardian angel when I was a li'l girl in Catholic school I would feel funny changing it. However if I decide to, who will care? There are no name police out there...I don't think*

    9. I suppose that changing a name is okay... for me, though, when I would want to change the name, I would've used the old one for so long that the new one would never click. xP

    10. I want to change one of my girl's name, she is called Maddie, I think her name doesn't fit with her personality, but I can't seem to find a good name for her!

    11. I officially decided to change my boy from Thanial to Akio. I still call him Thanial on occasion, but 'm workin on it. I feel that Akio fits him a lot better, since he doesn't really have the personality for the character "Thanial" I was basing him off of.

Akio has shown himself to be very sneaky lately. I'm slowly starting to think he's secretly a ninja. -might have to get him a mini kunai and a ninja outfit-

    12. Before Victor arrived I had originally named him Nicholas, but when I saw him in person that name just didn't suit him. So I went with Victor and I think it fits him very well.

    13. I didn't change doll's name if I gave them .but if I didn't think out that what fit for her(him ),I will never call them until one day ,a name jump out of my mind ,,and "that it is !" ^_^

    14. It's something that's been bugging me for the past couple weeks. I have a dolly named Atsuko, and the character's been called that for years before I ever got into the hobby. But recently I saw the name "Ariya" and it just wouldn't leave me alone. The more I saw her, the more she became "Ariya" instead of "Atsuko."

I guess I'll wait this out and see if this is just a phase or not. :?

    15. I originally named my Soom Lazule "Xavier" cos it seemed to suit him out of the box. But a few weeks ago I put a new wig on him and he now reminds me of a character in a story I've been writing for the last year or so. He's just missing the facial scar. :| I'm not sure if I'll rename Xavier to Keegan or not. We'll see.

    16. I tried naming my first boy after a character I created, but his personality didn't quite fit. So Kou became Kroix.

I guess I just didn't hear him right when he first got here. ;)

    17. When I got my first doll, his character's name was Kusumi, and he had that name for a while...but I eventually realized that he didn't look Japanese at all in any way, so it kind of bothered me (aside from the fact that his name didn't entirely seem to suit him). I eventually wound up finding the name Tremayne, and it just clicked...so his name changed from Kusumi to Tremayne Rainmayr XP

    18. I have a Charles Creature Cabinet Fidelia Firefly Faerie. I named her Sparrow before she got here, then when she arrived on Midsummer's Night Eve, she became what she is! Midsummer's Night Eve Sparrow.

    19. I have a doll who I somewhat accidentaly named Fatty. it's a bit of an odd name so many times I've toyed with changing because it seems a bit insulting. Now that she has that name though I can't seem to change it. If I try it seems to alter her character too much and I really do love her character.

After trying to change her name I settled on having Fatty as her nickname and Riley be her actual name. She still gets called Fatty most of the time though

    20. Well I don't see why not. If it doesn't feel like their name anymore you could also make it so that was a nickname a long time ago that reminds them of a past they don't want to revisit. Or if you want to keep it give him/her a middle name maybe even a last name and everyone just calls him that so you don't feel like your betraying her/her or something like that.
