Character Dolls (based on fictional or other preexisting characters)

I have Riki the Dark from Ai no Kusabi in an Iplehouse Theo, and I´ve already bought an Arvid to be my Iason Mink.

I really prefer having my own characters in doll form but I could certainly see the lure of having a character doll. I might, someone down the line, find a character that I really love and shell it into a doll but for now I'm content.

 

Most of mine are based on existing anime/manga/game characters... My latest is based on a song actually! XD

However not all my character dolls, follow the characters they are based on 100%. Some are just based off their appearance but have quite different personalities. I started out trying to create original characters for my dolls but that didn't work out too well so I started basing them off existing characters. I find this more fun actually!

All of my BJDs are characters. Each with their own personalities. But, no not reflective of any particular character.

 

For my first Obitsu I kind want to have my original character but I also want Irisviel von Einzbern from Fate/Zero. I have even looked up for eyes & wigs. But at the same time I'm not sure because that would mean that she would be Iri the whole time and I would have to think about her personality when playing with her. From already released characters I like all Volks Dollfie Dream girls (Saber from Fate/Stay Night probably is the most famous of them all). Too bad that they aren't for my wallet.

 

My first (and only so far) Iple EID man is based on Assassins Creed Altair ibn La-Ahad





I am just in love with that Assassin and I think Tedros makes a fine mold for him.

Then, I am still working on a character based on James Camerons AVATAR-universe. See my little Na'vi girl:




I still plan on getting another EID, but not sure when that will be yet, and then go into norse mythology since this is my favorite.

On the other hand I have original characters as well.. So it's mixed ^^

 

the reason i bought my doll was to cosplay her!!!!! her first cosplay will be sailormoon then link the l and then how knows......so many possibilities

I have Soren and Ike from the Fire Emblem game series in two sizes (Crobidoll Yeon-ho & Iplehouse EID Akando, Leeke-D Bijou & Tori) and Koji Nanjo (Dikadoll Xibatian) from Zetsuai/Bronze manga series (he also changes to Iason Mink fro Ai no Kusabi sometimes) and plans for Izumi Takuto (who will change to Riki when Iason asks him).
The rest of my dolls are original characters.

 

This is my Katniss. She is Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games trilogy. I am also getting two more characters from this trilogy, Peeta and Rue (for people familiar with the series).

 

Mmm, I don't make any character dolls. All of my plans are for original characters~ Being able to take something you make and put it into an actual (doll) body is really nice.

 

Yes! My first girl is Suiseiseki (Rozen Maiden), but is not complete yet. Anyway I love her.

 

This might seem weird or Narcissistic or something, but I think it would be cool to mod a BJD of myself. It would take a tone of work, though.

 

I plan on making a doll based closely to Jareth from The Labyrinth xD.

That is awesome! I want an Avatar doll T.T. You did some awesome work there.

 

I have no plans of ever owning a character doll that's not my own original character, but they might cosplay as non-original characters occassionally. I don't think I could be as creative with a character that was preset by someone else as I could with one I created.

 

I don't cosplay my doll as any particular character, but I really enjoy looking at other people's dolls when they are dressed up in cosplay.

 

I HAVE a Fenris from Dragon Age 2, simply because I wanted one and there were no figures of him anyway and because I found what I considered the 'as good as perfect' mold.

I have PLANS to make an Albel Nox from Star Ocean 3, because he's still my number one favourite Video Game Character and for some absolutely not comprehensible reason the company choose not to give one of their most popular characters a figure. In fact, his body is already here, his head should soon follow and I have most materials here to finish him. I think :3 It will show itself when he's here and I can work on him.

I also have plans for about 6 more character dolls, thought I do not know yet for 100 % if I'll go through with them. Basically same reason as for the other two: I love them, but there are not figures in existence and I want them. There is also the chance that they might get figures and I'd refuse to spend money on them due to poor quality.

Most likely I'm going to use the character dolls and make them double as side figures in my stories thought. After all they are not meant to be only for fangirling reasons and to look at them.

 

I plan on creating a Juri from Yu Yu hakusho and Ryu/ Fou lu from Breath of Fire. I just have to wait for the funds.
