    1. It's definitely a dream of mine to one day own a doll based off of Wadanohara from the horror rpgmaker game Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea; the game definitely has it's problems but I relate to Wadda a lot and the game helped me through some tough times in my life. Most of the series I'm into have their own merch, but not this one, and I'd really like a physical representation of her in my doll collection. I also don't really have a lot of boy dolls (not my thing usually) but I think it'd be amazing to have a doll of Samekichi... so we'll see!

I mostly need to find a sculpt I like (I'd like probably either a YoSD, or a "Chubby BB" style MSD doll for her), and also I'd need to either sew an outfit for her or commission one.

I love seeing dolls based off of other characters, it's amazing to see what people do with them!!

    2. Two of mine are accidentally based on two characters from my favourite series of children's books.

The first one just turned out to be one of them as I painted wigged and styled her, then I had to hunt down her sister - NEVER again. All that hunting to find the right sculpt is an absolute nightmare!

I'm back to buying dolls I like the look of and getting to know who they are once I have them.

    3. (Huh, thread got merged while I was typing up a response:sweat)

      On topic:
I've got four that are literal interpretations of existing characters, and one based on an OC that was inspired by a few different ones.

For the four straight interpretations, they're characters from the Avatar: the Last Airbender sequel series Legend of Korra. At the same time, they're also more based on a fic I've been working on as a semi-AU for years—a reinterpretation from the end of book one onward. This gives me a bit of extra liberty to be more creative with their looks and attire, as I can pull ideas for alternative concepts out of the fic instead of the canon series. At the moment I've only planned to ever do Korra, Asami, Tahno (guy in my avatar), and Mako. I've thought about possibly doing one of Bolin as well, but that's not a certainty. I've also got a boy that I had plans to do up as Zuko from the first series, but at the moment he's just a head with a botched faceup.

As for the OC I've got shelled that's inspired by a few other existing characters—that'd be Tahmos. That Legend of Korra semi-AU fic ended up inspiring an original story, and Tahmos was semi-inspired by Tahno from that fic. Tahmos also takes inspiration from Doctor Who/Torchwood's Jack Harkness, as well as a bit of personality and aesthetic from Adam Lambert (not so much a character, but I felt I had to mention him regardless). Tahmos in the end is his own character, but those three helped give him some life.

I've also got some OT dolls that are based off of characters from Avatar: both Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, Teen Titans, Fruits Basket, Gravitation, Hell Girl, Jack Harkness,(:XD:) and Fullmetal Alchemist (and a few others that I eventually plan to change).

    4. I could have sworn I had already posted on a thread like this, or it might be old age or even better déjà vu. DX

I own a bunch of DIM Minimee large head sculpts based on mostly Japanese video game characters, one based on Code Geass' Lelouch, and one complete smaller doll based on Sephiroth (OG Dissidia version, head is not MNM). I like owning a bunch of heads based on characters I can't afford to own complete dolls off. However, I own two MNM floating heads based on Sephiroth and was planning on getting a body for my privately ordered version, but its a pain in the gut to find the right body for him. I kind of feel like giving up most of the time, then I stumble across pretty muscle-bound bodies with uber-thin necks that wouldn't work, and I kind of get a bit of hope again. Outside of these dolls I own some scale static figures and some 1:6 action figures based on anime and Japanese video game characters as well. I'm a shameless fangirl. If DIM were still making custom-ordered MNM, I would be in a huge bottomless pit of MNM heads. (:

    5. That's my favorite part!!
That or seeing who I can make out of random heads and bodies I have at home. You never know who could turn out to be Wonder Woman.

    6. I'm like that with my Original Character dolls. Their image is so strong in my head that I have to get the exact perfect sculpt for them or Nothing. Not happening.

Thankfully, I've not got plans for any more established popular characters outside of Leon and Dante. Hunting for OC sculpts is enough of a pain at times. And, as I consider my guys a form of fan-art, they don't necessarily have to be absolutely spot-on with face structures. Just as long as they look close enough to their chosen characters with the right styling, I'm happy. My OCs are the ones that have to be just so.

    7. I agree! Yes, sometimes it takes a long time, but it is so satisfying when you finally find that perfect sculpt and get the order in.

    8. I'm not quite sure about it yet, but I already thought about a few character dolls. :kitty2
If I can't get them, I would try to get at least the similar outfits as an alternative. :sweat

Here's my wish list :love =

Japanese Stage Play: Moon Saga - Yoshitsune Hiden
Character: Kage (Played by Actor: Saotome Taichi)

      Game: Mobius Final Fantasy
Character: WoL (Warrior of Light) / Job Type: Dancer

Character: Kamijo (Vampire Rock Star) & Juka (Both are Visual Kei Artists from Japan)

    9. Honestly, when I do a character doll, it doesn't really have to perfectly fit the actor that played the character on screen. It just has to fit my internal concept of the character. I'm currently doing a Palpatine interpretation with a Miracle Doll Baiye, partly because the character I'd originally intended him for just wasn't working (that whole story just isn't quite working, TBH) and, while Palpatine doesn't have horns, his white skin and smirk are just PERFECT.

    10. I have quite a few character dolls from some of my favorite series. It was the series 'Gravitation' that got me into this hobby in the first place, so I have BJD versions I've created from existing sculpts and a few that I've had cast back when Doll In Mind used to make Minimees. Lets see, so far I have:

1.) Sakuma Ryuichi: Gravitation, ages 35 and 16, and I'm waiting for his five year old version to ship.
      2.) Seguchi Tohma: Gravitation
      3.) Ukai Noriko: Gravitation
      4.) Uesugi Tatsuha: Gravitation
5.) Yuki Eiri: Gravitation, currently a floating head
      6.) Shindou Shuichi: Gravitation
      7.) Alucard: Hellsing
8.) Bettie Page: A famous pin-up girl from the 1950s
9.) Aoyagi Ritsuka: Loveless (floating head)
10.) Agasuma Soubi: Loveless (floating head)
11.) Kaido Kio: Loveless (floating head)
12.) Sakuma Ryuichi as a toddler: Gravitation (floating head)

Of course, there are others I would create if I could. But the house I live in is a small one, so the floating heads might stay that way. :abambi:

    11. Three that I bought as full-sets (well, two, one was a gift) and three that I styled myself.

The three that were bought: Volks' two Devilman Yo-Midis - Akira Fudo and Ryo Asuka - just caught my eye when they were released. I took part in the lottery for Akira and while waiting for the results, realized I wanted Ryo, too, so when he was still available for sale after the lottery, I got him. The third one is an Anne of Green Gables doll from Dollmore that was gifted to me by my aunt. I've been a huge fan of Anne ever since I was a kid but never knew I needed her as a doll until I saw the one Dollmore released. When my aunt told me she wanted to buy me a doll, but it had to be a full-set, I immediately knew which one I wanted.

The three I styled: Since I've been kinda-sorta obsessed with the Resident Evil movies for the past two years or so, it was only a question of time till I'd get Alice in doll-form. Well, turns out Raccoon Doll's Nina sculpt is actually pretty darn perfect for Alice, short of a custom-made head. So I got her. And then, of course, I got Alice a Claire, too (FID Stella) because I didn't want her to be lonely. And then Raccoon Doll released Henry and since he looked quite a bit like Zack Ward (the jawline especially) I decided I needed to have a Nicholai, too. Always liked that guy and thought it was a shame he died. So now all I still need are a Becky and a Carlos, so Alice can have her little family. I'm eyeing some mature tinies that might make a good Becky but haven't found one, yet, that's a good enough likeness for my taste. As for Carlos - I guess I'll finally have to bite the bullet and shell out a load of money to have someone make me a custom head ...

    12. I just finished my doll based on Persephone from Lore Olympus. I couldn’t help myself, she’s such a fun character and my doll has the curvy body for her. A little nerve wracking to dye and now I’m wondering if I go full out and start putting together a Hades for her. So expensive haha

    13. So I’m taking the plunge, and turning 4 feeple Sylvia heads into my only character doll. I expect she’ll be pretty one of a kind, because her character is immensely unpopular in the fandom (strangely not a villain anyone but me likes), but I’m so excited for her!

    14. This is such a good idea. I read this last night and haven't stopped thinking about it!! Now I want to find the perfect Nana sculpt.
oh HELL yes, would love to see these. Also i hear that about the red sclera eyes... i just made some and they're not the best but they work for now.

    15. Well, I'm back to say while it wasn't my original plan, because I didn't get my dream sculpt for the character I first thought I'd shell...

I just bought a doll to embody my D&D character... and my D&D character is honestly just one of the main characters from a TERRIBLE movie that I love and force my family to watch every year for my birthday, but instead of a frustrated journalist on Earth in 1985, he's now a good-hearted rogue in a high fantasy world. Obscure enough that my DM has not called me out even though I fully use character names in the backstory I turned in.

    16. Personally, I'm not a big fan of owning a doll that is not my own OC. But, I understand it when other ppl do it. I also thought about buying a Dollfie Dream and make Sailor Mars out of her (I don't like the published one). But in the end, I decided to not do it. Even I really love her character.

For a long time now I want to buy the Dollfie Dreams Ranko, I love everything about her design, but I'm not sure if I can keep her as Ranko, I often thought about to create a new OC that looks alike Ranko but this feels wrong for me. It'll take some time for me till I have the right feeling about this doll and her character she is going to have. When I made my decision about her I'll post it here.

    17. So i've been like.... obsessed with "The Untamed" and it's two main actors.. lol..

So I'm totally planning to get 2 dolls that will be dedicated to them. it'll be like.. my "figurine" collector item! LOL that i can dress up and do photoshoot with.

    18. I just wanted to say I have done Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian from The Untamed and then I read your post :D
The drama is definitely amazing and these characters seem to be very popular in the BJD world recently. I've seen many BJDs of them starting from Ring Doll's version to fan adaptions.

      Here are mine:
(sorry for bad picture quality, I've yet to take professional pictures, their final bodies just arrived after a long waiting time... which is also the reason why I can start their drama outfits just now)

My other dolls are partly inspired by real-life characters (sculpted on the base of BTS member's faces) but developed their own personalities.
For example, my Dollshe Saint is very much inspired by Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides (haven't finished him yet, though)

    19. I have Dani from old Marvel Star Wars comics on the way.

And I have Kylo Ren (Anhais Jupiter).

    20. OMG! I'm screaming! awesome job!!!
I've decided that since I want to take them around and travel with them. I figure it'll be better if they're smaller size, plus i wanted them to be almost chibi. So i've settled on 1/6 scales!! We'll see how it will go! HAHAh

So far. I'm thinking Lati Yellow Momo for Lan Wangji
      http://www.latidoll.com/product_img/img_content3/2016-03-04-12-01-27.jpg

and Lati Yellow Byurl for Wei Wuxian!
      http://www.latidoll.com/product_img/img_content3/2016-03-08-10-42-14.jpg

So Stinking Cute! I want to also do their face up in a way where i can switch them between LWJ and WWX + Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan.

They can wear their MDZS universe outfit. Or regular clothes as well.
