1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Cherish Doll Faith Discussion

Jan 29, 2011

    1. I taught myself how to sew when I was young on my mom's sewing machine. When everyone took sewing (manitory until grade 8) I was like a pro in my class xD Not the greatest sewer, but enjoy making clothes.

Speaking of which. I'm dragging my brother to the fabric store this Wednesday to get some material for "human" shorts I want to make, and hit up their bargin area for dolly material, AND possible Asian printed brocade for a nice Chinese dress or kimono I want to make Yun. Of course the left overs will be made into a tiny kimono for Miyu.

    2. I was a rockstar, sewing pillows & little plushies, in like 6th grade.. but I think sewing is not like riding a bicycle.

My mom has a sewing machine, it scares both of us... but we do have a family friend, who is a seamstress, who started with making doll clothes.. I may have to glue myself to her hip for a while.

    3. I'm starting to learn to sew. (I tried to learn in the past, but never was able to focus on it.) A friend is teaching me, and my mom will help when she can- she quilts. I hope to be able to make doll clothes... Maybe socks for Mayonaka, since I can't find what I want for him!

(I've been missing due to illness, but I seem to be recovering now!) I hope to have photos of Mayonaka with his new eyes soon, and his faceup and adding the white streak to his wig are things I wanted to do this summer that I can start working towards now. :) He'll get a cleaning and sueding soon too, so hopefully he'll be less kicky.

    4. Let me know about the stringing. I was thinking on restringing Miyu in a different way then Cherish. AND I completely forgot about sueding her hip socket. I have to sued my MSDs, so I will do Miyu at the same time...

And speaking of the little one, she got a new face up that I am 100% statisfied! She looks more vampy look around the eyes now..

    5. Ooh, SweetMelodies, I look forward to seeing the new face-up ^^
phoenix_kaji, welcome back, glad to hear you're feeling better now!
Eirawen needs restringing too, she's rediculously kicky :sweat I've read about a sueding method using a silicon sheet, cutting them in circles that fit into your dolls joint sockets and stringing them onto the elastics in between the parts. Basically, making your own custom sized KIPS :) I'll look for the thread and put a link here, also I'll let you know if I try it out!
      Edit: Here it is!

    6. hmm.. seems more reliable & much less messy than hot-glue sueding. o; I might just have to go buy a sheet of silicone.

So.. I did Devon's faceup a couple days ago. I'm.. so unbelievably not happy with it xD but considering it was my first time doing a faceup, I guess it's not THAT bad...

    7. Hmm I might do that too, if I can get my hands on some silicon sheets. KIPS would be easier to take out/remove then hotglue..

PICS! I still suck at faceups. I am slowly getting better. Maybe its because smaller faces are much easier to control then bigger faces. Just takes lots of practice and Patience..

    8. Thank you! I will have look into that later.

Updated the front page with more places to buy shoes and info.

Looks like Cherish added two more shoes for the new body. Red Mary Janes and Brown (look more like Burnt Orange color to me) Boots.

    9. Hmm. I was poking on the boards on Cherish's site. Someone ask them if they are planning on doing anymore events. Cherish replied back with this:

We are currently plannning to have new shoes and its pre-order sale somtime this month.
We would inform you on our site, when all information is fixed.

I notice they added Red Mary Janes and Brown (looks like burnt orange color to me) Boots for Faith's normal body shoe line. I am so curious about this "pre-order sale" they mentioned.

    10. Well, in preparation for taking Mayonaka apart, cleaning, and starting on a faceup, I'm buying a string puller from LUTS that is said to work on 14mm zuzu delf. If it's small enough for the Faith channels I'll let you know. ;)

If not I'll be using wire I think. :XD:

I'm acquiring some small scale furniture and props for photoshoots with him too, since he's small, and SD furniture would be too big to go crazy with. (I do need a bench for some of my boys though!)

And thank you, Mittebam. ^^ It's been up and down again due to family trouble but I'm doing my best.

If the sueding doesn't go well, I'll look for silicone sheets. I'm pretty handy with hot glue though. :XD:

    11. I can't wait to see Mayo's faceup! I have some Barbie things that are scaled perfectly for Mi, but I could use more her scaled props.

Have fun with re-stringing her. I think I did mine wrong :doh I'm going to wait til I get my DS doll since they use S hooks for their hands and feet. I want to see if te S hooks fit Faith since they are close in measurements. Restringing willl be much easier, and so will changing the hands with S hooks

    12. I've got some new in scale props, Wiske made me some books! Eirawen has claimed one to herself :)

I'll keep them to myself 1 by Mittebam, on Flickr

I need to restring her too, but I'm going to get some silicon sheets first I think...

    13. I see her smiling with that book in her hand :) I found some cute wooden furnature with a mirror/dresser. Shame its was too small for Mi. I think she is content with just with her wooden chair and her stuff friends.

    14. Aw, she's always adorable. <3 And the book is a good color for her.

I was looking for books for Mayonaka, too, because he likes to read and write, and I found some I like on Etsy but haven't purchased them yet. I did get a desk that needs a lot of work, though, and a tiny quill and inkwell.

    15. Thank you both! Ooh an in-scale quill and inkwell, that is awesome, where'd you find those? :D

    16. They were an Ebay find. I looked for a long time to find one that was separate (not one solid piece), and this has a little brass well with a real tiny white feather 'quill'. His hands aren't the perfect shape for 'writing' with it, since he has the open hands, but it'll still be cute I think. :)

One purchase that did not work out though was the 'hair bleach' set from For My Doll. (White wefting attached to little 'hidden' clips to make a streak in a doll's hair.) The clips... looked tiny on the site but are like an inch long. D: There's no way to hide that on such a tiny wig! I'll pry need to pull off the wefting off one and sew it to his wig.

    17. I saw these ardorable pacifiers and rattles in the party section would be perfect for Faith size. BUT I kinda find them babish xD

I got enough courag to sued Miyu. I only did her chest part and inside the part for her legs. I haven't string her ack up yet since I am woking on her mother atm. Which I also sude and OMG she can stand rock solid. I will let you know the results for Miyu soon.

    18. Hi everyone :)
Last month I ordered a cherishdoll Andy, today he arrived, he's in a slim body.
at first i thought he would be big because I wanted a doll like a lati yellow.
I think his size is perfect and super adorable! <3
I am just not used to posing him. very kicky :) I don't have any good pictures of him yet.

    19. Congrats! I notice that too with my Abby. After I hot glue sued her she was fine. Can't wait to see some spam.
