1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Cherish Doll Faith Discussion

Jan 29, 2011

    1. Oh, good - I won't be the only one with two floating heads, then. LOL!!!
I got my Sera in white and Jodie in NS.

    2. My heads arrived! Customs charges were enough to buy a third head, as I already suspected they would be...

They shipped them in a ridiculous box, though.

I totally love them both, and I'm sure now I want the chunky boy body for Jodie and the slim girl one for Sera...

    3. So I saw this thread was bumped and I wandered in...I have what I think is a Beau that I grabbed at BJDC from someone who didn't know what it was :\
I don't know anything about Cherishdoll since this is my first and only. All I knew was that it was adorable and had to go home with me.

As you can see, the poor thing has no face, even two months later. I have no idea what to do with him (think he's actually supposed to be a girl, but in my collection anything smaller than a YO is genderless imo and therefore called "he")!! This fall look is perm, but as far as faceup goes...He's a fairy, and I can't decide if I should try full on fantasy, or just fall colors or go green for contrast or what. I've never had this much trouble with a faceup in my life! Why it so hard?? D:

Anyway, I thought maybe I'd get some thoughts from other CD owners.

    4. That would be Beau. If the body has no boy parts (Cherish Faith boy bodies have boy parts) then it's probably a female. Either way he is cute.

Depending if you are keeping the theme or not. He looks cute as a fall fairy. The beauty of this hobby you can change looks whenever.

    5. That's one adorable little Beau! I love that wig and the leaf outfit!!

I always think the first face-up on a blank head is the hardest... There's something daunting about that pristine 'new' resin. :o

I think in your place I'd just try one, and if I don't like it, wipe it and try something else... Not very helpful, I know. ;)

    6. Fab! With that wig and those eyes, I don't think he needs much. Maybe start with defining the eyes and see from there.

    7. Update with CD. I posted a message on their board asking to do a stringing tutorial for their Faith dolls. They said they would like to make a guide for owners, but it will take some time to prepare it.

    8. My Molly arrived yesterday! She was a little smaller than I had expected, so she's just hanging out in hand-me-downs from my Pullips until I can make her something that fits.

Luckily, I had some pants that I accidentally bought too small for my other dolls and they fit her with the legs rolled up.

Her name is Amber and I'm taking her to DDE this weekend to pick out a wig and some eyes, then I'll send her off for a face! I figure that I can spend the time waiting for her head to come back picking out an outfit that will suit her. I'll take non-crummy pics once she's all beautiful.

I am super pleased with her, she's even cuter than I had expected.

      *edited to fix ginormous pics*

    9. I also just received my unicorn Molly. I'm just waiting for some Mr. Super Clear so I can give her a nice faceup. I started making patterns for her last night- I don't have anything that fits her. I sort of assumed that at least the Barbie/ Pullip stuff was going to, but no luck there.

    10. Greetings everyone,

I've just ordered Lani [No-Makeup,Normal Skin,Slim Girl Body] from Cherish Doll's Faith Collection and am sooo excited! Thank you for this thread :) I'm grateful for the size comparisons and, of course, I enjoy seeing all the sweet photos of your bjd companions.

I will post images as soon as my little girl arrives. :aheartbea She and I have quite an adventure ahead as I'll be doing my very first face-up (yikes)!

      Cheers!

    11. Does anyone know how the 'new body' compares with the 'slim body'?

I have a Chubby girl, but she's on the very old body - without any joint in the torso. I'm hoping the bodies for my other two kids will arrive next week or so, and I'd like to have at least a 'placeholder' set of clothes for them...

Soulosphere, congratulations on your new Lani.

    12. I don't have a slim body to compare. "New Body" is wider then the slim body making a little bit mature looking. Only thing I can tell with the comparison pics on CD site, is the "New Body" doesn't have the waist joint and the knee joint seems different. They both have DJ elbows and torso joint.

Slmi body is awesome for those who have troubles finding clothes for the "New Body" since they can wear Blythe and Rica clothing including shoes.

    13. She looks cute! Looking forward in seeing her face up.
Cherish is having a last event of the year for those who want to take advantage of that, and on the 7th they are releasing limited Chubby and Ally fullsets. They look freakin cute in their winter attires .3.

    14. Does anyone know what body type the new Abby & Chubby limiteds are? Cherishdoll site is soooo slow loading right now, I can't get to their Q&A board...

    15. I think they use the new bodies (NOT slim) for their full set limited dolls from I notice from their previous ltds. Best way is to ask them to be 100% sure before ordering.

    16. Thanks, I'm really excited. This is the first time I've sent a doll away for any kind of customization and I can't wait to see what she looks like all put together! :)

    17. Thanks, that's what I thought too. I've got a post asking this on the Cherishdoll Q&A forum, but they haven't answered yet...

    18. Finally got an answer from Cherish on the Abby & Chubby 2012 winter limiteds --

      Hi
      Thank you for your inquiry!
The limited edition has "New body", not "Slim body"
      Thank you.

      Cherish

    19. It takes about a day to get a reply back from them, unless you post on a Friday you won't get a reply back until Monday. I figured they use the newer bodies :3
