How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
After eight years of stalking the hobby I found one I loved and could possibly afford!
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
When I found the resin colour options!

Well she is new but I think very carefully about large purchases so I doubt it. My mind had been made up for months and I spent years plotting.
Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
A Bobobie Pixie on RS Rong body and yes she is only a week old!
She was a gift, but I ordered her because my boyfriend did not want to mess it up!

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first? I had many sculpts I was interested at the time of purchase but I decided on my MNF Mirwen since she was the only one who I had a design and character for at the time and really wanted to bring to life, and luckily it was during a FairyLand tan event. :3 And when did you know that this doll should be your first? When I first saw her sculpt and certain owner pics of her I knew It suited her character and design that I already pre-made. Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one? I dont have her yet since ordering her in Nov, but im still very happy with my purchase, maybe even more so since seeing more awesome owner pics ^__^

Because the price is expensive for me, around six mouth I decide to order my first doll.

when I saw his picture from his company, It's first love ><"

No, I am very glad to have him.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Francis MSD size from Mystic kids company, Yes he is still in my familly.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?

it was love from first sight, I was making a search online on one normal doll, then within the doll photos there was a photo for Iplehouse Bibiane, it was my first time to know about BJD after that I made my research and didn't like any other doll as much as I liked Bibiane so I bought her.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?

As I'm more into realistic dolls it wasn't that hard to decide to buy her as Iplehouse is one of the best companies at making realistic dolls.

no, she was perfect as I expected her to be, and the face up I had chosen for her, made her even better.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?

Iplehouse Bibine, yes I still have her and will always do.

I looked at sculpt, price, and how bad I'd feel if I messed it up. Oh, and size.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
A few months after I started researching.

Nope! I had a ball with my first doll, she'll always be precious to me.

My first doll is OT, and I still have her.

He is Vivien from Impldoll and yeah, I still have him. And Im going to keep him.

i fell in love with her in pictures i saw on Flickr and her promo pic. she was just so beautiful. and her price was a real added bonus.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
as soon as i saw her. i had some money saved up and knew even if i had to save hundreds more i needed this girl.

NO! though i do wish i had money for more dolls right away. but hay i'm gonna have to save up again.

Lati yellow lea and yes she is so cute and lives in as candle on my shelf

i chose her she took my hard saved money and i wouldn't go back if i could.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I spent a while looking at different dolls, joining facebook groups etc. I had my heart set on a Fairyland LittleFee Shue steam age Alice but she sold out the same day I went to purchase. I then saw an Angell Studio Elizabeth and completely fell in love with her.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I was looking in to purchasing one for a few years but kept looking at this one every day.

Nervous at the cost but I'm certain this one is worth it.

I'm still waiting to receive Elizabeth but I'll always keep her.

I picked her myself. She wasn't a present.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
A customer of mine who buys 1/6 dolls from me had an Impldoll Marcus with extra hands and head for a very good price that I could not resist.
That made my first BJD purchase a very happy one.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I could not beat the price , he was a inexpensive way to jump into the hobby.

Not at all, I was pretty happy.

Do you wish/did you wish that you've ordered another one?
Very happy with my choice.

yes, a Christmas present to myself lol

 

It was not hard choice for the very first time, because I liked 70% of BJD. Of course, since you've got 1 BJD you become more choosy, and very choosy when you have more then 10 dolls.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I like the scale/ size of Barbies and had long wanted a doll that size who was more pose-able and more human looking. I had become a stalker of Soom's The Gem site and saw a comment that the Mini Gems fit Barbie clothes. And the company pictures had such an attitude.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I'm not really sure. Tan having no premium when ordered as a Christmas Kit was definitely a factor. The price was far less intimidating than Volks.

Nope. Even if most Barbie clothes are way too big in the chest.

She's a tan Mini Gem Uyoo, she's special, I'm quite fond of her. It's number two who's a problem... And I'm up to eleven and counting.

Yeah, I chose her without asking anyone else's opinion. All my money, saved from a note taking job at college and birthday gifts. Knowing I would order her helped me finish my first semester of my senior year of college, which was tough.

She was kind on the cheaper end of the hobby which was good for a highschooler and i loved her

When I was looking for a character and insead I found a doll and it was love at first sight!

I haven't ordered her yet, but I do doubt her here and there

I haven't ordered her yet, saving up, but she is a Nine9 style Potpourri C doll

I was already buying expensive Blythes and Momokos, but had the eventual dream of owning a resin BJD. When I came across a sale on Mystic Kids on ebay, I went for Evelyn because I loved her face and was super excited to get an MSD so cheap!

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
As I said, the price was right and I found her to be super pretty!

No, I am quite happy to have her and am still satisfied with how she looks and her quality.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Mystic Kids - Evelyn, MSD sized. I still own her and wouldn't give her up!

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I didn't decide; the doll chose me! I went to my first doll meetup at a convention and I was admiring him because he was one of the few male BJDs there, and then his owner said he was for sale...

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
When I learned he was for sale and I had the money in my bank account to pay for him!

Nope! By the end of the first day of toting him around the convention, he'd told me his name and developed a personality. I definitely bonded with him more when I decided to do everything myself -- face-up, full body blushing, breaking out the Dremel on him, making him clothes, everything.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
His name is Absinthe, and he's a Luts Yder-Elf Vampire (modded for open eyes) on a ResinSoul body. I got him less than 3 years ago, so of course I still have him. I doubt I'll ever give him up.

My heart went, "You." Love at first sight

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
Pretty much in that same instant. I'd been shopping around for a while, and it was the first time I'd ever had that reaction to a doll. I also had the money on hand so that was it!

Well he isn't here yet, but my second doll is! And at first I thought it was a bit premature of me to order my second before my first had even arrived, but now that Kai's here I don't regret anything.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Kai is a Migidoll Vampire Ell, and to be quite honest I bonded with him so quickly and so firmly that I don't think he'll be going anywhere for a good while.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?

I saw him and knew he'd be right for a first doll. =D He was the kind of doll I love, a MSD-sized boy (since I didn't want to start with a big one), and in my opinion is the 'little brother kinda version' of my Grail Doll =D

Mmh, good question. Basically right away. ^o^

I did not get unhappy. I just fell in love with him even more. I guess no other doll would've been better to be my first than him.

Yes I still own it. It's my precious little Dollzone Hid.

Lots and lots of looking around and comparing different companies to figure out what was available and for how much
And when did you know this doll should be your first?
The fact that it was a blue dragon that fits in your hand was how I knew if this was going to be the only doll I could ever get, it had to be this one.

No regrets what so ever, in fact I would say Aileendoll has saved me from buying another doll I was considering and now that I know the company better, I'm glad I didn't

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first? I saw a doll and instantly fell in love with it despite not being much interested in bjds prior, having only vague knowledge that they existed. It was a limited from many years ago, however, but then I found out that there was a basic version of the doll and after some contemplating decided to get it.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first? I really, really wanted it. I made the decision to buy it when I discovered the company had an Ebay (Don't worry I made sure it's legit) and happened to have it for sale there, which was easier since I knew my way around ebay and didn't know how to use their site at the time, and I already had money saved up so paying in full wasn't a problem (and it's a tiny). There was another doll I wanted to get at the same time from another company, but decided to just stick with one for now and see how that goes.

No, I couldn't possibly love him any more. He's already helped me through some really tough times, and even though its just an object it feels like I have a friend in him.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?

A Zuzu Lio from Luts, and of course! I only just got him about 2 months ago. I hope to own him forever.

Were you even able to choose it? Was it a present?

I wasn't able to get the doll that first interested me, but I'm glad I didn't because I was able to get the one I have.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I wanted a tan doll, of a larger size (although I was comparing this to fashion dolls, so MSD seemed big) who was reasonably well-made and who I could try modding, dyeing, and sewing clothes for. That's why I picked MSD Riz.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I waited a really long time to pick my first bjd--8 years. I knew that Riz should be my first because I liked her expression: kind of stubborn.

Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one?
No. I was never unhappy. At first I was a little worried about the resin quality--I had another head that arrived later whose resin was much thicker and denser. However, Riz seems pretty sturdy to me.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
MSD Riz in tan was my first doll, and of course I still have it.

Nope. Not a present. I did wait for an event--free shipping. I ordered it around my birthday.

I was looking up different companies and looking through the different msds they had and it immediately clicked.

I knew immediately. She was the first doll I immediately KNEW I had to have and after a few days the feeling didn't go away

I was worried that I would regret the skin tone or the body or something. The more I looked at her the less worried I got. I ended up super happy about her

Dollzone Elsa was the first I ordered and yes I still have her.
