How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
The first doll I ever loved was a DZ so I knew I had to have one.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
The minute I saw the promo pix of Hid, I knew I had to have him!

Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one?
Nope, I just hated the wait. I'm still happy with him after all of these years.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Dollzone Hid (Fullset), I still have him and still love him!

extra question: Were you even able to choose it? Was it a present?
He was a gift from my parents. I got to choose him but my parents had the final say.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I only knew of Volks at the time, and I wanted MSD size. This narrowed it down to about six dolls.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
When I realized the three sculpts I was choosing between were actually the same sculpt with different faceups T_T
Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one?
If I had to go back, I'd choose her all over again. She's as lovely as the day she arrived.
Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Volks MSD Myu, and yes, she's chillin' by my side.

It was not a present. My father was completely unsupportive, in fact. He still is.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
No idea, it just was something about that smile that caught my attention. At the time I wasn't even sure if I was going to buy BJDs at all... I was only browsing through different companies' websites and there she was~ At first I didn't think I was all that impressed at all, but I just kept coming back to look at her...
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
Well, maybe the fact that it was about my tenth time just coming back to browse the promo pictures of hers was the one that clued me in. :P

When I first received her, I got a bit doubtful but she grew on me fairly quickly! And I have not regretted since. ^^
Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Dreaming Doll Kelly, and she will be the last one to go for sure.

My first was partially funded by my parents as a gift, but they gave me free reign about the whole choosing procedure.

I basically narrowed down my top five favorites for looks, then decided between the two cheapest ones! Haha

I was looking at it every day, always searching for owner pics.

Nope, pretty happy. Took me a year and a half to actually LIKE her though, besides just thinking ONE DAY she'll be great.

Resinsoul Li and you bet!

HAH I wish it was a present! Nope, saved up for a while.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I couldn't quite make up my mind (for almost two years -.-) until I thought of shelling characters from a story. I loved the realistic look of Iplehouse dolls, but none of the sculpts really fit her at the time ... then they released Stella and my mind was made up for me

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I'd been tempted by others (Bianca ... ) but it just didn't feel right. I wanted my first doll to be that OC, period.

No. She's perfect

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Iplehouse Stella, and I can't imagine ever letting her go so she'll probably be around forever

 

How did you decide which doll should be your first?
I did a lot of research, bounced ideas off my husband and made an informed decision.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I knew when I first saw them that they were going to be my firsts.

I'm still waiting on them, but I'm easy to please. I am sure I will love them.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
I got two at the same time. A FL PFK Pong and a FL PP Flora.

I did choose. My husband helped in a way that suited him, but it was ultimately my decision and I bought them myself.

It took a while before I found the perfect doll, but then I saw Ringdoll's Sol. As soon as I saw the promotional photos, I was smitten!
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
As soon as I saw him!

Whilst I was waiting for him to arrive, I wondered if I should've gone with one of my dream dolls rather than one I'd just "become smitten with". I can be very fickle at times, and actually changed my mind before settling on Sol & ended up cancelling an order for a Dollzone Mo.
Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
A Ringdoll Sol, he's currently my only doll. And I am as smitten as I was when I saw the promotional photos!

No one else had a say in it, because I only told my parents about him when I forced to (when he turned up at our front door! )

I searched on the internet looking for BJD pictures of owners, when I saw him and thought he looked very cool.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I kept looking at other sculpts but eventually always returned back to this one

Not for one minute ! I love him !

A DOD Homme Ducan and I will keep him forever !

As soon as I had decided it was gonna be him, I still hesitated because of the price and mostly because I had no experience with bjds at that time. I had never seen a bjd personally, only through pictures on the internet. But after some weeks I took the courage and bought him. And I don't regret it at all !

 

How did you deicide which doll should be your first?
My sister was trying to get me into the hobby, she picked the company Fairyland for me because she knew I'd like it. (she likes DC and DIM). We went on there website. I picked MNF Shushu I had never looked at a BJD or seen one in real before that day.

And when did you know this doll would be your first?
Immediately. I saw her and she just looked so right, Even with teh company faceup on the website. I could tell she was what I never knew I always wanted.

Did you get unhappy with your choice/wish you ordered another one?
Yes and I actually ended up selling Shushu for a Chloe, and then selling Chloe for a Rheia, but all that time I missed my Shushu so I sold the other dolls and brought her back. I believe it was to be

A minifee shushu and no I don't own her anymore but I am bringing her back so yes and no.

I bought my doll with my own money so I chose whatever I wanted. I even bought her without knowing the price. That 420.00 price tag almost did me in but I love her all the same

Honestly? I just bought a cheap doll, because I wanted a doll. I learned a lot from that. XD
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I didn't consider it much. I just bought it.

I did end up selling him very quickly, but I don't regret having bought him. I learned something useful.

It was a B&G Sky, and no, I sold it a long time ago.

No, not a present. I bought him myself and choose him myself.

i actually wasnt looking for a bjd at all. i had been following a blog on tumblr (http://puppet.tumblr.com/) and everyday i would see all these beautiful dolls on my dashboard. ive known about bjds since i was around 13 (im 17 now) and have always wanted one, but didnt think it would ever become a reality. i saw a bjd posted on the tumblr and instantly fell in LOVE with it. to the point where i knew i had to have it in my life. i figured that since christmas is coming soon i would ask if i could get him as my christmas present. and i got a yes as an answer!

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
i just fell in love with him instantly. i had this feeling that he was made for me. (sounds silly, but thats how i felt.. and still feel)

nope, totally happy with my decision. i havent received him yet but im so excited.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
okay these questions are probably very irrelevant to me, but whatever hehe. i bought the plutodoll archibald and im planning on keeping him forever.

i chose him, but he was given to me as a christmas present!

 

How did you decide which doll should be your first?
I had many choices and well this sculpt I had the least amount of complaints for. Most of the others I liked alot, but one feature threw it all off for me.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I had my doll choices all opened up on different tabs on the internets, and I eventually closed all but one tab. :3

nope! I hadn't found any other sculpt I liked more since I chose mine.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Dollzone Shoyo and well, I just acquired her recently, so yes. ^u^

It was a Christmas gift from two of my best friends. They just happened to have a Dollzone Shoyo that they didn't need anymore so I was glad to 'adopt' her.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I want to have a family of dolls, a couple and a child or two, and Titania was the perfect match for the guy I want to get, but I had to get her before him because of her flower.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
When I found her and found out that they only made 50 of the flowers.

If I could go back in time, I'd order her all over again. I love her so much

Fayette from Granado, and she's currently sitting on my bed.

I got her on my own, so I got to chose her and I paid for her on my own

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
Well, I was not making a lot of money at the time, and I was also saving for a local anime convention.. so I wanted something with layaway. I also wanted him to be tall, and suit the face of my Demon General character.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I could not stop staring at him. Thinking my character in his face. ;A;

Well... long story short, he changed characters because I was scared to get him in tan, like his character was supposed to be. BUT. The character I turned him into I love very much. So in the long run, no. I am quite pleased with my baby.
Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
Illusion Spirit Limited Minos in Pink Skin. I still own him. I was going to sell him at one point, but could not part with my first baby. ;; He meant too much to me and he is so gorgeous~~

It was a birthday present to myself. XD I bought it by saving up and doing a layaway.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
First, I want a YOSD size because my first keep nagging me to get one after DD Saber is hard to take her outside but then when I saw Junior sizr of MinoruWorld, I fall in love with this size immediately!
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
At the first time I saw, but the hard part is to choose which head I will buy because they are all cute! XD

No, I am very happy when I got him. He is very cute and he make me want to buy his big brother for him right now

Actually my first doll is not BJD, she is DD Saber Alter 2nd Ver. and I still have her.
My first BJD is Blue Fairy Junior May 3rd, I just got him on 19th Dec 2012 and I will not sell him for sure XD

Yes, I was able to choose him because I buy him by myself.
PS. He is very expensive for me T_T but I'm glad that I buy him though

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
At first, I had planned on getting an Iplehouse Dexter as my first doll, and doing his faceup/blushing myself. But the more I looked at his face, the more I realized how hard it would be to give him a faceup having no previous experience. So, I set that dream aside and started looking for something easier to paint. then I discovered Doll Chateau's Colin and fell in love. ^^ I decided to get him on a ResinSoul body and use him for a practice dool before taking the plunge and getting a more expensive body.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?I saw some owner pictures, and his face was really sweet. But I think, that when I created a character for the doll, That's when I was sure.

I hope not. I order him tomorrow (squee) And I'm nervous, but very excited.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
He'll be a Doll Chateau Colin on a Resinsoul 1/4 boy body. Although I'll probably eventually buy him a new body, I doubt I'd be able to get rid of him altogether.

I got to choose him as I am paying for him entirely on my own.

I looked at millions of companies until I found a doll who no matter what other prettier looking dolls I found, I would always find my way back to him.

At first I was a little unhappy, I wanted an Iplehouse JID Daniel but their new credit card system wouldn't accept my card and paypal wouldn't allow me to send them any money, I ended up looking at Illusion Spirit and fell in love with the 1/3 Baitu. I ended up changing his entire story but I didn't care because I know one day I will get him [:

Illusion Sprit 1/3 Baitu - Of course I still have him!! I just recently got him so it'd be weird to sell him so soon or what have you!

He was a present but I did get to choose him! I had to stick with an under $400 price range because the doll I originally compromised with my dad was around that price at total and I felt bad making him pay more so I looked around and eventually found the my beautiful baby

I started asking around at conventions where people ordered from and started looking through the different molds for one that was aesthetically pleasing to me and fulfilled my requirements

I was never persay unhappy--I currently don't have him anymore due to monetary problems--however I miss him and am thinking of repurchasing the same sculpt so I dont think I was ever unhappy with it

well i knew i wanted a yosd first, because they were so cute and i anted to spoil it with cute clothes and what not.
but i wanted him to have a certain look to him. i wanted a pouty lip, chubby cheeked, and with eyes that
weren't huge like most yosd's. it took me months to find him but when i found honey delf taffy i knew he was the one and
that i had to get him

I changed my minds tons of time, but then I decided I liked Dollzone Megi's smirk and Dollzone did non-limited edition tan and they said they were raising their prices, so I jumped on it right before the price increase.

When I didn't talk myself into a different doll. xD Even after getting more familiar with the BJD hobby, I'm a terrible flip-flopper when it comes to doll purchase decisions.
