1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Claudette- Rubinesque Beauty

Dec 16, 2016

    1. I know in general, 11 weeks is pretty short, it just feels like forever when the listed wait was 4-6 weeks on the sales page.

The longest I’ve ever waited was 6 months for Doll Chateau, but I have a friend who waited 13 months on Dollshe. I couldn’t do it! With wait times like that, I’d have to buy secondhand or choose a different sculpt. I do not have the patience to wait longer for a doll to be made than a human! :o

    2. Yall will get them soon! The waiting game is the worst.

My girl just got her eyes, likely going to order a wig for her today, and start painting her on Friday.

    3. It is the worst! I’m mostly just really anxious because the last time I ordered an artist doll, they ended up telling me the mold was damaged so there wouldn’t be any more made of that sculpt, then refunded me. So I’m so anxious that something will happen and I won’t get Paulette, especially since her mold was also damaged and had to be remade, even though Arwen has already assured me that will not happen. Illogical, but doesn’t stop my brain from telling me to panic! I’ve already made a couple of outfits for her, including cutting my prom dress to pieces to make a replica of it for her, so I’ve already got so much invested in her! <3

Yay for eyes and a faceup!!

    4. I can't wait to see what you do with her when you get her! I'm so glad for you that you're still able to get her.

I will post pics when I'm done painting her. :D

    7. WOW!!! she is beautiful! She looks sweet with a dash of sass!

    8. I've had Miro tell me they need to remake a mold too... it means a couple of extra weeks of wait, and that's all. Since Miro is handling the mold making and casting and such, in this case mold damage is not to traumatic. Thank goodness! Hope she comes home sooOOoooon!!

I still need to paint mine. Lazy mama!

    9. @WrathChu She looks amazing!! Gorgeous girl!

@chalyss Well, it’s going to be at least 6-8 weeks longer than estimated, and that’s if she ships this week. :| Maybe my moody goth girl is waiting to ship on Halloween, sounds like something she’d do! :XD:

In the meantime, I almost have her dress made from my prom dress complete! I just need to hem it. Would anyone be so kind as to give me a measurement from her waist to her feet? The listing didn’t give that one and it’s all I need to finish this!

    10. I get 33cm from waist to top of the feet and 34cm for a slightly longer look.

      She'll be fashionably late!

    11. Thanks yall! She was so much fun to paint, and just looking for clothes for her right now.

I hope they ship soon! I want to see your beautiful girls.

    12. @chalyss She looks amazing! That outfit is perfect for her. Good to see her again, she’s what gave me that final push to save up for my girl!

    13. Thank you, @CloakedSchemer!!! I am over the moon with the whole package! She still needs new eyes... I did buy sme gorgeous turquoise-aqua-gold cabachons for her ages ago, but I ordered them much too small. This outfit was the color path I wanted for her from the start. I really can't wait to see how your girl chooses to represent herself! Cuz ya know, we end up with very little say in the matter in the end. ;)

    14. @chalyss Ohhh, turquoise-aqua-gold sounds so pretty! Can you order a new set but larger? They'd be so perfect with that outfit! I am so in love with your girl. When she gets a faceup, will it be gold/turquoise too? I think she'd look gorgeous with some gold eyeliner or lipstick.

Harriet is already a written in stone character that I've been roleplaying since May, so I'm pretty sure she will turn out to plan, or at least in general, she'll be my cynical teenage goth girl. Though already I've had to buy a second wig for her, she's not even home or even shipped yet, and already telling me that first wig is just SO not her! (But the Dollshe Amanda Beauty I have on the way is a wig hoarder, so she'll probably take it...) I'm undecided on eyes yet for Harriet, she needs blue but I'm not sure if I want to go pale or medium, or if I should go more teal blue or grey blue. Also unsure of size, so I plan to try several pairs I already have in her to get an idea of what size and color to buy--or maybe I'll get lucky and already have a pair that works. but I can't possibly get that lucky with this pain-in-the-butt girl, can I? :XD:

    15. Harriet has shipped! By the time I got the tracking number, she’s already in the next city over, waiting to be transferred from FedEx to USPS to go to my PO Box. I’m expecting her tomorrow or Monday (but I work both days, so photos may be delayed.) so excited!!

    16. Finally! Can't wait to see her!

    17. She's home! I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow or Monday. Life is really busy right now.

I really like her. She's everything I needed her to be, definitely bigger than my other girls, but styled in a way that she can still fit in. She arrived with very weak string in her arms and so floppy I couldn't do anything with her, but after sueding and restringing, she's much better and poses well. I think I was told she wears 16-18mm eyes, but I have 14mm Soom silicone in her and they fit really well. Her head/headcap is very shallow and her ears are set back fairly far on her head, so she has trouble with wigs not sitting on her head very well. I'm going to see if a wig cap might help with the issue, or if maybe I could add some hot glue or something to her headcap to hold it better.

My biggest complaint is that the packaging for shipping was horrendous. She doesn't have a doll box, and she was just kind of tossed in the shipping box with no bubble wrap, no pillow/sleeping bag and just a little bit of thin foam lining on her head, hands, and feet and like 1 or 2 small sheets loose in the box, not nearly enough. Luckily, she had no damage. My other complaint is that the sanding/finishing isn't very good. Most of the doll is smoothly sanded with no problems, but the finer details weren't done very well. This is an issue with casting, not the sculpt/artist. Her eyes were cut unevenly and left jagged, like they weren't sanded at all and her right eye was bigger/sloped lower than the left, and her toes had chunks of resin between them that weren't sanded/removed. I've sanded those issues out myself and it wasn't really a big deal, just kind of surprising that such an expensive doll arrived somewhat unfinished.

But overall, I'm very happy with her and she's perfect for Harriet's character! She looks pretty much exactly like I pictured the character in my head. My only regret is that I didn't buy her sooner! <3
