1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I find I've got a pretty even smattering of all three categories. I'm somewhat addicted to 4D clothing, but I also do like the simpler, clean-cut selection that the DoA marketplace offers. (I find it's actually harder to find basic essentials like plain long sleeved t-shirts and such from companies...)
      I'm not so much a seamstress, but I've sewn a couple things too. :)

    2. I own a BJD during about 1,5 months and he has a plenty of clothes already. All clothes including shoes and gloves are made by me. I plan to buy only items I can't make by myself (glasses, watches, tea sets etc).

    3. I make clothes for my dolls but I also buy company made clothes because I like the designs and sometimes they are so cheap if you count the time that it would take me to make them that I'd rather buy them.
      I have bought some hand made clothes but was sometimes a bit disappointed about the quality.
      And I try to sell clothing made for MSD. But with the exchange rate now I think my clothes turn out to be expensive in dollars.

    4. Unfortunately, because my sewing skills are so.. few XD I have to buy a lot of the clothes for my doll and it ends up being just soooo expensive. But it would be fun to try some of it out... There's a lot of cute ideas on the forums >w<

    5. I can't sew myself.. ToT maybe will buy clothes from people who can, cause I can't find everything I want in stores.. ^^;

    6. My doll's wardrobes contain stuff I've made myself, things I've bought which are handmade from others, and items from companies. Of course, the stuff I make myself is the lowest quality, but it does the job. I like handmade clothes from others because a lot of them have a kind of limited feel to them and are really nice. Company-made and mass produced clothes are also nice because they are the best quality and look very nice. Although some items like my guy's one and only shirt from SOOM are a dime a dozen. *shrugs*

    7. I buy my girl shoes, but I make her clothes. I am too poor to buy them. Haha~

    8. I buy clothes, either hand or company made, and I make them myself. Usually I only buy if I cannot myself make the item,or really like it. Otherwise I try to make their clothing myself. As for accessories, I'm usually able to make those as well.

    9. i've found things i like for my girl but because of her odd size i don't know if they'll fit correctly so I haven't bought anything yet :( She's wearing handmade clothes for now, although its really just a cloth bag I found and a sock. My mom is awesome at sewing and is currently in the process of making her something... SO if it turns out as amazing as I'm hoping I'll never buy her stuff, just get my mom to make her clothes

    10. I buy clothes, make them from scratch and adjust clothes for other dolls so they will fit...

    11. Sometimes I buy clothes for other BJD- humans, sometimes I made clothes by myself. : )

    12. I don't even have my first doll yet, but I've ordered a bunch of clothes (both from 'mass production' places and handmade shops). I also plan to attempt sewing things myself. :) Guess I'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll make up what I lack in talent with motivation?

    13. I enjoy sewing so my dolls have homemade kimonos and such. yet I do also buy tons of clothes from websites. Limited outfits and just plain cute ones. What can I say? My dolls are spoiled. heh

    14. I tend to make all of my dolls clothes, mostly because I'm too cheap to buy the stuff already made. But I have seen some absolutely beautiful things that make me wish I had deeper pockets. But I like to think my sewing skills are pretty decent and that I could do an ok job on a similar outfit. It's just motivation that I'm lacking! >_<

    15. I like both because sometimes you just can not buy what you would want your doll to wear. So if I have time I will try to sew something but if I don't and my dolls want smth then I would just buy it. I try to buy from not so famous brands so it still got some special, unique feel to it :)

    16. I usually buy company clothes however, I do occasionally buy hand-made. It just all depends on the clothes really—their quality and how well they suit who I'm shopping for : 3

    17. I usually hand-make my clothes (and sell handmade clothes), but sometimes I feel like treating myself and I'll buy company-made clothes or clothes made by someone else.

      Handmaking clothes is a lot of tedious work ^^;;
      (but at least I get exactly what I want and my sewing quality is pretty good.)

    18. To dress Moswen in his traditional clothes, I need to make them as they don't really exist outside of my imagination. Same thing goes for Kijika's clothes. Whenever possible, I make the clothes (knitted and sewn) as it's much cheaper for me to do so and gives me something to do while I watch TV. The things I can't make (like boots/shoes) I will buy though.

    19. If I think I can make something, I'll usually make it myself. However, for me to be able to make something myself it has to be really simple. I end up buying most of my dolls' clothes from either companies or individuals.
