1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Company Faceups?

Sep 22, 2007

    1. I have never ordered a doll with company face up.
Usually I dislike the company face ups that come with the sculpts I like plus I won't be able to bond with a doll that has the exact face as other people's doll. All my dolls are characters of my own design and they need unique face ups according to their characters.
I do not make face ups because I'm not skilled at all, but I like to search for a face up artist that makes the kind of face up I want for the doll and send them so I get a unique face up according to what I want them to be.

    2. I only have one doll with a company face-up and that's because she's pitch black and tiny and I wasn't sure if I could do it. I wiped a company face-up to redo it myself. I'm no pro, but I bond better with my dolls when I customise them myself. It also makes way to change the face-up if I feel I need to change it. It would be a hassle to keep sending off heads to artists and for my own dolls I prefer my own handywork to a perfect face. If I spend time making a doll into what I envision for them it helps me get attached.

    3. I adore some company faceups... but I would love to try doing them myself or choose an artist to do them for me :)

    4. I have a custom face-up from Dollmore and its really beautiful! I've found myself wishing I could send my other doll(s) to them too.

    5. I did my own faceup for Harriet, but my second BJD will probably have a company faceup. I live in a humid climate, so sealants are kind of a pain to use here.
