1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Couples collecting?

Nov 19, 2005

    1. My fiance is creeped out by all dolls but he is extremely supportive of me and will give me his opinions about things if I ask him, for faceups, hair, etc. He likes that they make me happy :)

    2. My girlfriend is 100% supportive with everything I do. :) She isn't in the BJD hobby though unfortunately

    3. I am unfortunately quite single. However it wouldn't be a requirement for my partner to be into BJD. Just don't make fun of it!

    4. My boyfriend is supportive. Not sure how he'll feel once I get my first doll, but I hope he continues to be supportive. For right now he lets me practice sewing and even helped me set up a better sewing area. I work on clothes for my kids right now, but plan to sew my doll's clothes. He even tells me to "go sew" when I'm getting irritated.

    5. I think it would be soo cute if a couple was collecting together!

    6. My girlfriend/fiancee and I both collect BJDs :) in fact, she's the one who got me into the hobby! Most of our dolls are either couples or related, lol.

    7. I'm really enjoying reading this topic. What a wonderful bunch of supportive partners everyone has.

My ex was very much into collecting G.I. Joe dolls, and he branched out into collecting Barbies to be the "girlfriends" for his G.I. Joes. He passed away in 1995, so BJDs had not come along yet, but I can totally see him wanting them and collecting them. He was an artist himself and sculpted his own set of Alice in Wonderland dolls, so he would probably go for fantasy BJDs in a big way.

    8. My boyfriend doesn't collect BJDs and he has said he never will, but he is approximately 100 times craftier than I am, so he is the one who helps me with all of my sewing projects and the like. ^^; He also helps me out with picking wigs, clothes, etc., and he's even picked up a couple things in Hong Kong for my girl when he was there! Even if he doesn't collect them himself, he is so incredibly supportive, I don't think I could be happier any other way. :)
