CP Delf Discussion Part 13

I'd say Edgar... There have only been three or four of us here who ever had one.

Pretty much any of these guys and gals would be "rare birds". though...

Oh Brightfires they are all gorgeous! I've been dreaming of someday tracking down a Dambi but I know it is unlikely to ever happen lol. Please share him more so I can live vicariously through you!

 

Wow, @Brightfires ! They're all lookers, what a crew you have there!!! I'd also love to own a Dambi someday, so @malvinas and I are in the same boat

Since I was able to nab a semi-complete picture of these two lovebirds, I might as well share a snippet of my crew too! Everyone is waiting on a special package from Etsy for me to make some new eyes, and only 1 of the 3 have finished wigs, but I love seeing them all on my bookshelf anyways. I need to take more pictures before they all get crammed in my suitcase during the move!

Dambis are fun... Not the easiest guys to photograph well, and finding eyes that really fit them can be tricky (They're a little like Juri '05 heads that way-), but their little grins are awfully cute.

I don't have many pictures of my Dambis (I also have the Sleeping version. That's Po-) to share, unfortunately. I just don't point my camera at the dolls very often anymore.

My own "would be nice to have"-heads are the Sleeping version of Kum Ran, who I never got a chance to order when they were available and a NS replacement for the BW Dreaming Vampire Moon head I had and sold on. He was only ever available as a "gift head" that came with Fairyland's Feeple70 body, though, so there are very, very few of them out there.

 

I would love to have some of these gorgeous heads you all have! I didnt get into dolls until like 2011 and bjds in like 2013 so I missed the ordering direct phase completely! I would love to get some of those rarer heads that weren't as popular it seems

 

And now I've gone and picked up that Harang that was on the Marketplace! Can anyone share photos of theirs, I'm definitely wanting to get him a very natural style faceup with freckles

Some of my other CP/Delfs were adopted from the Marketplace, but all of the "rare birds" were direct purchases from Luts back-in-the-day.

 

I Harangs... Who are also pretty unusual. You just don't see many of them around. (They weren't popular when they were new. I don't think the limited run ever actually sold out-)

(I also had a BW Sleeping Harang once upon a time, who had a Chinese opera dan-style faceup. That was the original version of Tai'sun. He was sold on ages ago, though, when I got rid of a lot of my white resin Delfs. 'No clue if the person who bought him still has him or not.)

 

@JellyParade maybe someday we'll both be lucky to track down Dambis of our own! lol

Thanks to the power of photo editing, I’m getting better at taking cute pictures Hopefully I’ll be able to get some slightly more photogenic ones without Amyas sitting on Dmitri’s lap once I finally get to my new apartment and have them all set up, of course. That’s the plan, at least!

 

Man, I thought I knew the CP/Luts sculpts but I don't know anything! She is so cute, sorry about the gender misidentification, LOL, just thought it was all boys.

@kaboomkim that's one of my problems, the phone camera warps everything. I took pictures of one of my dolls sitting and all I got was huge legs with a little body in the back and even smaller head. Ugh, absolutely awful!

Yah, I think I need a real camera @JellyParade But even with the equipment and the photoshop etc... you still have to have the patience to set the scene correctly, then the vision of what you're photographing and if you use a program like photoshop, you need to know how to use it correctly and not go overboard. So in the end, you've got the talent that makes the tools do their work well

I've been feeling not very good or social, but i hope all are well.

 

@SacredMonsoon sometimes that happens eh? This whole weekend, I did some stuff in the morning, crashed at 2PM, woke up at 7PM and now I'm getting ready for bed (actually, went to bed and slept 10 hours last night! I've checked my temperature but I'm fine. Maybe I haven't been sleeping enough? I don't know?? But it's been weird, being so tired!

 

@IngieBee, one trick to avoid that kind of distortion with phone cameras is to zoom in. You have to be careful though because usually the quality lowers the more you zoom in. It's a delicate balance. Also unless you've got one of the brand new snazzy smartphones with a fantastic camera, a simple point and shoot real camera is better than your phone.
