CP Delf Discussion Part 13

Thank you! I was worried that I hadn't gotten a message sent in time to snag him, but luckily I did. (I've already come in second to getting a doll/head twice in the last week, so it was nice). I've wanted a Moon since Luts released him, but never had the money when he was available.

I probably won't keep his current faceup forever, but it's staying for at least a few months as I have about 12 other faceups to work on first.

But she is so gorgeous! Yellow as heck, but that never bothers me. Still haven't figured out her name, but she's giving me dark fae vibes...

 

@Senko I understand how you feel! I have three dolls waiting for faceups too! He's going to be so beautiful though!!

@v1ntagecouture SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! Yellow is the way to go! Her ears are precious!

 

Oh wow, I tend to check the news daily on DOA,, but I forget to check this thread. Its...been awhile.

I still haven't had time to do anything with my Breakaway, or my El hybrid that I have to figure out how to color match. How do y'all do it? I got the color right with paint but it made a terrible texture with visible brushstrokes and just. No ><

 

@v1ntagecouture She's so pretty! I always found the BW delfs to look better after a bit of yellowing. I've had plenty BW over the years and always found them to be too bright if they were new. Made photos so difficult sometimes.

@Angelesk Thanks! I used to send mine off to others for faceups, but I've just been on a kick about doing it myself lately.

@TopHatDown I've got plenty of hybrids and I usually just hope and pray that I can get the resin close enough. If they still don't match I try to make up for it with pastels. I've tried airbrushing, but I'm not patient enough.

 

@v1ntagecouture She's so beautiful!! Wow! I really love how her lips are painted, and that expression...

@TopHatDown I think most people use an airbrush to do more extreme color matching. If the color is only slightly off, pastel might be the way to go! Painting with a brush is really hard to do well, I tried it once and also got brush strokes even though the paint was super thinned down. And I tried applying it with a sponge and that didn't work either

 

Thank you both. XD I have been debating getting an airbrush for this very reason -- I inherited an air compressor, so that is half the battle there, right? lol.

Ugh, work needs to be kinder so that I can start to paint my blank heads soon.

I have had a long hard week, my basement flooded but thankfully so far theres no damage, but the stress has been high. I love seeing everyones delfs though! I love our little community!

Thank you! I've had my Luwen since 2009, but didn't have a great camera or a phone with one then, so there weren't a lot of pics of him. I'm definitely going to take more photos after his re-vamp.

Can't wait to see your girl all done. I don't think I've ever seen a girl Luwen.

 

I've had Snow since 2011 as well! Yes, I've seen a few vampire luwens as ladies, but I think Snow makes such a sweet lil elf girl, she's going to be a white/blonde with a pink and blue faceup. I'm hoping I can make her some clothes as well!

I've actually lost one of his little eyebrow piercings so i might have to find some new ones to glue on T_T or just not have them at all.

Its getting colder here, soon the snow will fly. I can't wait, winter is my second favorite season. Last winter's freeze must have been really hard on the native Texans, I can't imagine not having heating in my house. Hopefully, that won't happen this winter.

My brother in Austin tells me he basically "goes from his air-conditioned house to his air-conditioned car to an air-conditioned store" whenever he leaves the house. We're having some "warm" weather here, it was in the 60sF here for a few weeks, but today it was in the 70s. I think it will be in the 70s tomorrow too.

Thanks @IngieBee, I'm loving seeing some of My Crew sitting nicely and talking to each other in that pic. But now, its October, so everyone's outfit are slowly being changed. I wish I knew what I did with Ryuichi's cosplay outfit. Oh well, he has a backup one that I made, he'll just have to wear that.

Congrats @Adalaire! What a cute boy...head! Do you plan on doing what many people do and keep his headcap the original color so you can see the striking color difference? I find it fascinating when people do that.

Also, congrats @Senko and @v1ntagecouture , isn't it wonderful when you get a Delf that you've wanted forever? What a knockout your nameless girl is, @v1ntagecouture! @Senko, I can't wait to see your Moon!

Sorry to hear about your basement, @SacredMonsoon, hopefully its dry by now. Snow is looking super adorbs.

Welp, I paid off the El I had on layaway, (my credit card hates me now! ), so hopefully he'll be shipped this coming week! I can't wait! He's coming with an extra pair of hands, a wig and eyes, so he won't be bald and blind when he comes home. Oh man, its been almost two years since a Delf had joined The Crew, I so can't wait!

I wonder what the next Delf I find will be?

I have taken some pics of Feather I really like. I'm having a lot of fun with my girls, I've actually decided for now to just have them. It's a lot of pressure to keep buying but I love Feather & Snow and they make me happy.

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 , I live in Los Angeles, in the valley and it gets SO HOT! And I kind of want to go live in Texas but my sister won't come, and I'd miss her too much (she also married a Texan) Anyway, it's funny, because I don't notice it being so hot in Texas for that very reason. Air Conditioning is everywhere! LOL

 

@Tonboko oh no, i hope you can get time to take photos! I know how it feels to have too much of something, I collect other dolls and plushies and omg so many! Lol... I might get a feeple one day, we'll see.

@IngieBee haha nope! I've had it for 10 years! I love it though, it was a commission ages ago. thank you too! I really love the color with her hair!
