I vote that you go for the head, @SacredMonsoon. It took me a long time, but Ethan is well worth the wait! I still can't believe that he's here, after waiting well over a decade for me to find one I fell in love with! Also, I can't wait to see what your prop is, be sure to show us, okay?

I too admit that I don't take them out into the sunlight. I tend to take pics on cloudy days, or in the shade or lately in the house since the temp is dropping. No, I don't think you're crazy, @Insane-Chan, you're simply being careful. After all, its not like we can just go to a website and buy our CP Delf BJDs anymore.

Oh, the reason I came to this thread today. Ethan's wig came!

He is such a handsome guy! I LOVE seeing more Vampire Shiwoos!!

Ethan looks so good! His wig is so fluffy, I think I would have a hard time not petting him 24/7

 

*laughing* I must be the odd one out, here. Back when I was still doing doll photography, I took my gang outside all the time. They were never left in full sun for long, mind, but I've never been afraid to take them out for a little while.

Example... Harumatsu (Shiwoo) on a beach in Pensacola, Florida.

 

I actually do pet his head quite often now, @Angelesk, but that may partially be because Ethan's very new wig has a cowlick that sticks up, and I'm constantly trying to get it to lie flat.

You may very well be the odd one out, @Brightfires. If I do take anyone out into the sun, its not for very long anymore as well. I don't do much real "doll photography" anymore either, mostly just quick snaps in the house.

Maybe I should take more actual pics again, before the weather gets much colder. I'd like to get one good shot of all of my Delf Crew before the snow hits.

@Brightfires I'm weird too! I mean, I hate to say it; but dolls yellow. That's just what happens. I take pictures of my dolls in any weather. Also...YAY FOR MORE SHIWOOS! Harumatsu is so cute!

 

Ugh, this all really makes me want to get a face up on my Breakaway but there just is never enough time. XD

 

@Angelesk, I kind of stopped going outside much when COVID hit. I'm fully vaccinated, but being high risk has made me really cautious. I suppose I could once again take pics on the deck stairs.

I need to get poor Shuichi his faceup. I got him back in 2015, and he's still blank. I'm making getting him a faceup my 2022 New Years Resolution, along with getting touchups on a few others.

Yes! Your Breakaway needs a faceup, they're such pretty sculpts after all!

This isn't a super recent picture, and I'd love to get all of my Shiwoos together, but I haven't had the time to. So here's Lorian

 

I thought the Delf folk had gotten awfully quiet for a while....except for seeing Angelesk's lovely boys and their faceups in other places occasionally...18 pages of comments was a lot of catching up!
Too bad there isn't a connecting link for this new thread posted at the end of the old discussion thread for those of us who aren't paying attention.

As to outdoors, the Delfs available when I started collecting had already gone through color changes (beauty green, etc) which is why others were selling them. And I haven't wanted to have dolls I'm afraid to enjoy. So going outside a short time for photos never worried me. For all the time inside, I've given them the side of the room where the sun is not going to shine but where I can still see & enjoy them.
Next chore one of these days is going to be restringing elastic as it's been years if ever since that's been done. ;}

 

@cthulhu Aww, Thank you! I try not to post them much on here since I post them SO MUCH on Instagram. But sometimes I like to show that I'm active here and post.

I remember people selling their beauty green Delfs too! Thinking back on it now, it seems a little silly? I mean, it was frustrating that they WERE beauty green, but there wasn't an easy way to reverse it. A couple of mine have a green tint, but it certainly shows more on the WS than the NS.
Also, your Juri girls are just so pretty.

I did promise myself to never have another BW doll due to the accelerated yellowing/greening that happens naturally over time (even if all precautions are taken), but it is a shame since CP BW dolls specifically to me were the most beautiful BW dolls across the BJD board. But I do hope to add at least 1 or 2 more NS Delfs to my family...if Breakaway and Woosoo ever make a standard comeback ><

Speaking of which, I pretty much stopped paying attention once CP and Luts parted aways, so Fairyland as a company is weirdly unfamiliar to me. But whenever I would occasionally visit their site to see what they were up to, I noticed that it seems like all their dolls are always out of stock? I guess this isn't the correct thread to ask about that, but...it's confused me greatly.

 

I wish that they would re-release the old sculpts too, but I'm sure the molds are long gone at this point. I would love a Woosoo too, and a couple of the event heads. I don't know much about Fairyland either as a whole since I don't buy the sizes that they mostly put out.

However, it looks like they do what a lot of companies do where they "showcase" all of the past releases that they had and they mark them as sold out. So since you can currently purchase Minifee Miwa, you can choose all of her options and purchase her. But since they no longer have Feeple Carol, it just shows as out of stock. But also, it looks like they have a new website too? So maybe everything is sold out on the old one?

 

Pffft! Post your Delf here as well as on IG, @Angelesk! Not all of us are active there. I'm definitely more active here! If I go to IG, its usually because someone posted a link. Is there a Delf club/story/thread/etc there? If so, I may be interested.

Yeah, I snapped up a few of the BG Delf, so it was a boon for me! Sternauge and Tielo, are not human, so the BG color works wonderfully for them. Hraban, OTOH....*shrug* He is what he is.

I hadn't heard of "NS yellowing in an accelerated way," @Insane-Chan, but my older ones are definitely yellow. Again, I don't mind. Yellowing/greening/creamyness is part of what happens with all dolls, and its not going to stop me from getting and enjoying My Crew. Ethan, my newest Delf is actually the only WS Delf that I have that isn't BG, he's that nice, creamy CP white I've heard so much about. After so many years of having BG Delf, he's a bit unusual in my eyes.

Now I'm hoping that tomorrow is nice outside, I want to be able to take my Delf crew onto the deck and take pics!

Like it was mentioned, Fairyland recently moved to a new website, so they seem to indeed have "all of their dolls out of stock" on the old one. To me, many of their newer dolls look pretty similar, so much so that I can't always tell them apart. There are a couple that I wouldn't mind getting, but then I always seem to find another Delf that I want to add to My Crew.

Yeah I noticed Fairyland was moving to a new site now, but even the last year or two it seemed whenever I checked their site, everything was always out of stock.

@Angelesk Didn't they do a survey earlier this year, asking people which of all Delf dolls they would guarantee to buy if re-released?

@Insane-Chan I'm not sure! I haven't seen a poll like that, but I hope that they did!

 

@Insane-Chan There was! Except it was all discontinued releases, not just Delfs. That's why they rereleased El and Lishe as MNFs late last month! The survey was for all sizes I believe? Not sure what they'll do for the other results!

 

Been too busy lately, but I must say I adore everyone's pictures and do hope you'll all keep posting

 

Oh! I didn't know that; it is a little sad that they didn't do it by sizes. I know that the MNFs are super popular; but what if you like the Pukifee or Delf sizes? I guess you're just out of luck!


As a random side note: I'll be adding another Delf to the collection soon too, it's a Nanuri 07 with default faceup. I'm actually really conflicted on whether I should give it a new faceup or keep its original. I'm not used to getting them with intact faceups.

 

I was hoping that Fairyland would re-release the Delf size again. I have a few MNFs, but that's not really a size that I could cuddle with, yannow? I didn't know they re-released El and Lishe! I wouldn't mind a Lishe sister for Ethan, but only in Delf size. Oh well.

I would keep the default faceup, @Angelesk. It has gotten pretty rare to see a default faceup on Delf BJDs. I was looking at a Delf with a default faceup a while back, but he sold before I could get together the money for him. He wasn't for sale for very long, anyways, not even a week, IIIIRC

I'm still going to hope FL re-releases the Feeple60 bodies, I would order two or three if they ever do!
