CP Delf Discussion Part 13

Jun 2, 2021

    1. I'd be tempted by a tan Lishe head on the Motion guy bod... But I sort-of went big in on Christmas for the nephews this year. (Junior would-be "pro-gamers" that they think they are, they needed new monitors and better headsets. ) The fun-money account just says "Nope, Not even." to the idea after that.

    2. I actually like the new expression heads. They're different! I like the elf El, man I wish I could afford a Fairyland set right now! :...(

The Dark elf Soo minifee head is also cute but they made her eyes smaller. Those big eyes were what drew me to that sculpt in the first place. I'm still holding out hope for an SD DES head with normal eyes (not to mention elf Shiwoo! C'mon, there's a minifee elf Chiwoo now so they gotta bring Shiwoo back! But as a Feeple!)

    3. WELP I may as well get a second head for my tan F60 El because whyyyy not  Then I can compare the new El against the first F60 El and Delf El.......... for science! I wish dreaming versions had been available too :pout:

Anyway I do think this bodes well for other Delf sculpts to make a reappearance :chibi

    5. Uh oh. Hmmm once I get home I need to see the sculpts on my monitor and then really think about this. >,> I am buying a house. But that is ehat layaway is for, right? :sweat

    6. Oof those new Lishe and El heads sure are...... they sure are something.

I know they'll have their fans but these reworked versions of the originals they've been doing all seem to have lost their charm.

    7. Delf owners and fans, can you help me out please? I found Lishe modeling a F60 outfit on FL's website (how long has this been here? No idea!), and El is also present in pics further down:

      Pansy Dress(Perple) for FeePle60 Female

Do you guys think their heads look smaller than the old ones? I'm pretty sure Lishe's does, but not so sure about El's noggin as it has been many years since I had mine. Maybe these are the lookback versions?

    8. I agree that their heads look smaller. Honestly I don't have a problem with that, I'm over the bobblehead aesthetic and many other companies have been moving towards a more realistic head proportion so I could see FL following suit.

There are some more pictures of El on the sidebar, but don't seem to be associated with a product page yet. Either his wig is very thin, or it seems to me like they kinda sized down his cranium or something like that? I'm sooo excited to get him and compare him with earlier Els :chibi

@Kim I agree they're not as charming here, but IMO that's Fairyland's styling. Frankly even though it was over ten years ago, I think Luts did a better job making them look pretty!

    9. Bobblehead or not, I still love them!

I have to admit, I feel torn about the F60s they've brought back. I was so hoping for the "giant MNF bodies" to make a return. :...( I really don't like the Moe bodies, and the Motion bodies are too skinny for my taste.:ablink:

Oh well, I guess my wallet is happy.:chomp::sweat

    10. Lol, I love the "for science" reason to buy dolls!
      SCIENCE PREVAILS AGAIN! :D

I have to agree with you on this, I "want" to buy one for the same reason as Overlordu (Science!). But I'm afraid that I will be disappointed if I put them with the old Delfs. Not that they aren't beautiful, but they're nothing like the old ones.

    11. Now that I am home and perusing them on my computer, and seen the Lishe cast...I think I am only going to bring the El home. He can sit next to my Breakaway, Shiwoo and Yder girl lol!

I already have a Riff that sits next to them, its not like its going to wreck an aesthetic or anything. XD (The Riff has a teeny, tiny little head in comparison, even though he's 10cm taller.)

    12. I can't say I really mind if the new versions are smaller, though something about the Moe body's neck just looks weird to me with small heads. I think the original Delf girl body is much prettier (and the old F60 girl bodies, too). Honestly I haven't been much of a fan of how FL styles their dolls, and prefer the more "old school" Delf aesthetic, but the smaller heads will make them mesh better with more BJD from other companies, which can be nice or not depending on your collection I suppose. ^^

@overlordu ~ good find with those pictures, thanks! Now that I see more of El, I do think his head is smaller.

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 ~ there's always the Luts Delf bodies! Their NS may be a poor match for FL's NS, but their peach skin color would probably be a pretty decent match. :)

It isn't the best reference, but here's a Scarlett head (2016) with peach skin Luts from this year:
      F60 NS vs Luts Peach

So I think a new FL head would be a pretty nice match.

    13. @overlordu - I think they've just smoothed out and shrunk out everything I liked about the originals, so at least these new ones aren't a temptation. lol I dislike the smaller head trend. I really like Alan's face but he looks bad on the body they're selling him on to me. Head way too small

    14. As promised! I stuck my Mirwen boy, who is on the f60 motion line body, with my El and then did some head swaps!

First up is them next to each other on their own bodies:

You can see Mirwen's head is visibly smaller than El's, but it doesn't look abnormal. Also forgive how yellowed my poor Mirwen's head is with his body. His head is pre-2013 and his body is only from 2019.

And here is El's head on the F60 motion line body. Works pretty well actually. He doesn't look too bobble headed at all in my opinion:

And here is Mirwen on El's delf body. This worked less well haha. It we VEEERY tight getting his head on over the neck mech and then I couldn't turn the key. Apparently the neck mechanism fairyland uses for the f60s now isn't as large as the type 2 delf neck mech.

    15. Interesting. Honestly, I see the bobleheadedness on the El/Motion body, yet the Mirwen on the Delf body doesn't look bad at all to me. Its wild that the keyhole can't turn on the Mirwen head. It might be worth it to invest in one of the 3D printed turnkeys for anyone that wants to do a switch.

Yeah, @Kim, I think that's what happened to the original heads, they smoothed out all of the character and made them somewhat...bland. Honestly, I didn't recognize the El pics that you posted as Els, @overlordu. :nowords: I thought they were one of the newer heads.

Unless something jumps out at me as special, I think I'll keep looking on the secondhand markets for older Delf.

I'm still disappointed that they only have the motion bodies for boys, I really wanted a F60 A-line style body or two! :...(

    16. I feel like the new heads aren't as charming as well. I almost bought an El head with my leftover christmas money but I honestly don't think he looks the same. :huh?:
I missed Snow's tenth birthday on November 16th! I am really hoping to finish her next year, seriously because I'll have more money hopefully!! :whee: I hope to do her faceup and make her clothes and get her wig for my birthday in Feb. Overall the new heads really just look too different for me. Lishe looks nothing like Feather.:nowords:
Speaking of Feather, I made her some leggings/tights today! I'll share if anyone wants to see! They look great in my opinion!

    17. I was almost tempted by the El, i'm holding out incase they release some more of the old sculpts as F60!

Not sure i've shared my Moon on here yet, but here's Seven. He arrived last month <3

    18. Seven is beautiful :D
He's so wonderful to see here and on IG!

    19. Ugh, whatta hunk Seven is! :nosebleed I've always wanted a Moon too! :drool

    20. Oh wow, a friend of mine used to have a Mirwen on a Type 3 Delf body and it fit way better than this! But if someone was trying to make that hybrid and got results like yours, maybe removing the neck mech would fix it. My Moon is on a F65 body and the neck is way too long for him, so I removed the turnkey to make his head sit lower. It's not an elegant solution but it does help  (And I should probably sand his neck too but I'm scared lol)
