CP Delf Discussion Part 13

@LupusDarkmoon : With Type two, and without a neck mech or something similar, I would definitely suggest at least making a neck protector. Not only would it help give that extra layer of protection, it should help it sit better and move more smoothly, for sure! Regardless, it wouldn't prevent me from pursuing this hybrid. In fact, I'll be having some incoming Fairyland Lookback heads (Lishe and Elf Lishe) and am absolutely looking at Supia to body at least one of them! As for quick fixes, that's not a bad idea! I've used a shortened pencil, once! ^_^

@SacredMonsoon : Oh, that's wonderful! Also, I noticed that on Supia's Instagram they have some reels showing off the Peach with Beige, and other colors, in small vids. That might be helpful. Plus, one vid had an image of the color options that's a MUCH better image quality than what Supia has on the website... which... is really such a shame... T_T I actually think Snow will look fabulous on the Supia body!!! * ___ *

I took another comparison photo before work today (yesterday now, lol) but a bit too tired to upload. Will try to share that tomorrow, for sure!

I love Snow's new wig, it's perfect. You can get a neck connector at shapeways which you can see in this review.

Oh, definitely agree! I was just trying heads on bodies and found out the hard way that sometimes Type 2 head neckholes can be stabby and make indentations XD Depends on the thickness of the neck, too, of course. But some kind of neck protector would definitely be a good idea (though, I do love that turn key system lol). Oooh nice! I hope you'll share comparisons of your Type 1 Lishe and Lookback Lishe. Would be interesting to see them side by side o: Shortened pencil also sounds like a nice, quick fix! I've got plenty of stupid tiny pencil stubs that I can no longer hold well enough to use lmao

 

Oh wow, @Mizuzu, a Soo Dark Human! I've only seen a few of them, feel free to take a quick pic or two and post them, I'd love to see more of her! Internet cookies if you show Raven alongside your DES.

I SO miss the J-Rock/VK style, @Kim, I can't wait to see what you do with him. My Ryuichi (Shiwoo) and Noriko (DES) are, well I'd say "classic '90s anime J-rockers," so it would be cool to see more "human" J-rockers. I'm also glad that others love the older styles! I even have a Shiwoo that's modeled in the Siouxie and the Banshees' '80s' style. I can't wait for the summer so I can take pics of my Delf Crew members! All of My Crew, really.

@LupusDarkmoon, did you model Tatsuro after a real human? IIRC, I seem to remember you doing so. If you did, I'd love to see his human self. Is your Tatsuro in a band, or a solo artist?

@chataignon, Is your Shiwoo also modeled after someone? I can't wait to see them with wings!

I did! I modeled (and named) him after the vocalist of Mucc, specifically his look in this music video (warning for lots of flashing lights). I'd love to make his outfit from it, but I've never been able to find any promotional photos for that video (like a lot of bands do), so I'm not 100% sure just what it looks like lmao. It would be fun to have more heads for him, so I could paint them to match some of the guy's other looks. I just need a plethora of El heads, apparently. XD
My Tatsuro just kinda floats around and does whatever he wants lol. Though, I've been tempted to model more dolls after other J-rockers I like and make a little band with them (because I totally need another band lmao).

I also have some other J-rockers in my collection, but not all of them are Delfs. My Moon is, but I might reshell his character to my Angel of Dream Chen, so my visual kei band can all be 1/4 scale.

Your group looks great! I love how well DoD sculpts fit with the old Delfs. I also miss stompy boots and leather pants. I wish the stompy boots were easier to find, cause my boy who wears that style all the time needs a new pair as his are starting to crack ;; (they're also over 10 years old, but it's still sad).

 

Stompy boots are hard to find, but here is a pair. I've found that if you scour many of the sites that have been around for a long time, like Doll Peddlar, you may still find some. I have to admit, I also still look around for leather pants, but finding some in different colors is difficult. I should get back to making my own.

What a cool video! Thanks for sharing it. Do you have a full pic of Tatsuro? I'd love to see what outfit he wears, the one in the video looks pretty sweet!

I say that you should totally make a(nother?) band! After all, why not?

I too love that Tohma (DOD DOI Luke) fits in. I knew that he would the moment I first saw a Luke. I'm hoping to have an actual Nittle Grasper in their canon outfits photoshoot..when the weather clears up some. I love taking pics on the deck's stairs.

Sadly, not quite stompy enough ;; And my boy insists on black (his color scheme is black/purple lol). Those are some nice boots, though! I love Dollheart stuff. Wish they still made clothes and shoes in the styles they used to. Now it seems to be all cutesy dresses. Which is nice, but there's so much of that around. Leather pants in different colors are hard to find! I need some silver ones for a big Dollshe boy lmao. How many leather pants have you made, so far? o:

lol welcome! That was the first song/video of theirs I heard/saw. Got me hooked. XD Lucky for my Tatsuro, he gets to change clothes so he doesn't have a set outfit. I've got a pic of him in his Halloween costume? XD (which real Tatsuro wore for a Halloween side project with a bunch of other musicians) I'm lame and don't usually get full pics of my dolls. I should, though. Need to show off their clothes sometime lol

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 No, he's not based on anyone, but it was more along the lines of doing things that were popular back in the day because you always wanted to but never got around to it. I loved the wings syrinfox used to make— mine won't be as nice but I can still try. I've been wanting to do more crafting anyway.

But I would totally love having a jrock styled delf. Maybe someday. Your gang looks great!

Oh well, sorry, @LupusDarkmoon. I was hoping that Doll Peddlar had some boots that would work. Also, try Tata's, they might also still have some stompy boots. I too miss the really wild clothes that Doll Heart used to make. The mallrat style doesn't work for any of My Crew. Tatsuro looks so badassed in that Halloween outfit! This wig that I'm getting for my incoming DC doll is about the closest I've seen to Big!Tatsuro's hair in that pic.

I've made about two or three leather pants so far. I tend to use tablecloth vinyl for them, its more made to last, even though its pretty stiff. I hand-sew, (sewing machines!) so it takes me a while. Here is Ryuichi in an outfit I made him in...whoa, 2012?! It doesn't seem to be ten years ago, but I guess it was!

I see nothing wrong with having five bands, and yeah, I think a duo counts as a band!

@chataignon, that sounds really cool! I'm even more intrigued by what he'll eventually look like now! And honestly, Hraban wasn't planned to be an '80s Siouxie fanboy, but once @gelfling21 gave him a floofy wig and eyes, I was like "yup, that's his style."

@TasiaChiba, I read your review, and its so concise and the pics so nice, there's no reason why it shouldn't be a reference pic. You did a wonderful job!

@LupusDarkmoon : Ouch, that sounds pretty bad. /o\ I haven't had that happen before, but I've had something that acted as a protector in between, even if it was just putty, lol. I'll definitely keep it in mind, though!!! And I absolutely will be showing off the Lishe's!! * _ * And heck, Type 2 and a Lookback El as well, as a matter of fact!

@LupusDarkmoon & @Ryuichi Sakuma 13 : I love these oldschool styles so freaking much!!! * __ * My boys don't really sport it, but I live vicariously through others. My first bebeh, DZ Megi, was the only one that came close to some Jrock feelz early on. He did have some stomping boots, and they were his only shoes for the longest time before they finally died. Ahh, good times!

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 : Thank you! So much of what I write I just figure I'm yelling into the void, haha! But it's super nice to know that others receive some help from it. And honestly, it's making me want to write up the CP Delf/Supia hybrid and headswaps as a review, too, just for posterity and all~ ^_~

I had a long hiatus for a while and just recently I've started to take pics of my Delfs again. Haven't painted one in years though...

I don't have either my own rockers anymore. Both Shatterglass and Shakti were sent to other owners ages ago. But they were great fun to dress when I had them.



Re: Leather pants... I really, really wish Marsh was still around. She was the absolute master of leather-look doll pants. It sort-of broke a small piece of my heart the last time I went to put one of the pairs she made for my crew on someone, and found spots where they'd started flaking. I know that no plether is forever, but... yeah. Sadness.

 

I don't know if i ever posted that my Yder hybrid came in, so i took pictures of him with my other Yder hybrid today. ^^
For being the same sculpt they sure can look different!

Zenzai and Bastien...in some temporary clothing! Bastien also needs a wig. ^^ Zenzai will have a kimono and some white eyelashes very soon.

 

@KittyOrochimaru They really do look very different from each other. I think multiples are one of the most fun things to see for that reason. Both look fantastic of course!
