1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Thank you so much! :aheartbea

    2. Has anyone been making/buying anything for their delfs? Anyone want to share some summer time photos? I'll start and we can get into the bright sunshiny mood!

    6. Does anyone know if theres a tutorial to restring a delf type 2 girl? I've been unable to find one.

    7. Long time no post, loving all the pics since Iโ€™ve been away.

@SacredMonsoon this is a pretty good general restringing tutorial https://denofangels.com/tutorials/bjd-restringing-using-ribbon-threading-techniques.70/ . The main difference is how to get the head off. If youโ€™re going to change out the string and they've clamped the S hook, I recommend this 3d printed replacement head adapter Luts/Fairyland replacement adapter SD size by arwen_mg on Shapeways. I struggled with trying to feed 3.5mm elastic through the existing hook, and once I got this replacement the whole operation took maybe 20 minutes.

    8. Thank you @coop52!

Has anyone tried restringing with the usual neck turn key? I really don't plan to replace mine, and I also need to put a turn key on my future supia body. I really have no idea how to do this. :sorry

Edit: i did find this tutorial, for the neck piece, does anyone know if this is similar?

    9. I really can't help with the turn key as I haven't restrung my one delf body, but if you get one of the adapters @coop52 mentioned, its an easy installment onto the Supia body. You simple push/pull the elastic through the middle of the ring, then put the long pin/peg through and let the elastic sit on top of that.

I think the original turnkey has to be threaded on before you string the rest of the doll.

    10. I see, @TasiaChiba, maybe for supia that would be easier, do you know how you'd pull the elastic up? Maybe with a tool? I don't want to restring the whole doll if i can get away with it.

    11. @SacredMonsoon : Oh, for sure! You just need some ribon to go through the top of the elastic to replace the s hook, thread it through the ring, and pull up to engage the elastic. Remove the s hook, push the ring down past the elastic, and immediately replace the T peg. And thats it. Put a CP head on, and turn!

    12. Yes! This is what you needed. Just a warning. I had to trim the second piece of elastic and then pull it though the metal look with pilers or forceps. It was a TIGHT fit. My poor dolls.... I will suede and wire them before I replace their body elastic, and even then I just tighten it until it will no longer function before it gets replaced.

    13. @SacredMonsoon What worked with my turn-key type 2 (boy) was going down a size in elastic. Not ideal/normal, I know most folks recommend going UP a size from what comes company standard, but also wasn't really by choice as it was all I had access to at the time. His elastic was so stretched out his leg pieces dangled separately like beads on the weirdest doll body part necklace, lol, so a full replacement restring was my only option. IIRC my first plan was to feed the elastic through the key and then knot it afterward like the Feeple 60 tutorial you linked, but no neck ball on my Type 2 Delf boy. But when stretching the smaller elastic out and using pliers to add a liiiittle bit of wiggle room to the bottom side of the S-hook (not recommended without a heat gun or boiling it to soften the metal, because holy moly it was difficult and I hurt myself doing it through just pure manpower lol). So I've got my boy with two halves of one long loop coming down directly from the neck key (may also help compensate for the thinner elastic, lol? I'm no expert I just do dolly urgent care with whatever's on hand).

Here's some pics to help, is this neck piece closer to what you're working with? You can see the scuffing on the metal where I had to really work with it with the pliers, haha, but in the end opening that up a little wider did the trick for me.

    14. Oh one other question, do the two loops of knotted elastic go from the neck to each leg? Do the knots sit at the ends or just somewhere in the middle?

    15. One loop in each leg is how I did my boy, yeah! It does help to keep the knots in the torso cavity so nothing gets stuck in a leg channel or sits unevenly. I just slide my loops around until I have the knots where I want them, though since the elastic is being pulled taut that usually ends up being "higher up along the loop than I thought it would be," lol, so if as I'm stringing the limbs I notice the knot starting to travel, especially enough that it might end up being pulled into an arm or leg channel, I let it go slack and slide the knot placement around until I'm happy with the placement!

    16. Gotcha @Mamo! Thank you!

    17. My pleasure! My first ever restringing was a type 2 delf body, as a clueless teenager bravely forging ahead with no tools but a wire hanger and a plan to just remember how I undid the parts and put them back in reverse order, no research or photos or reference or anything. :? VERY BOLD OF ME, lol, but surprisingly my boy kept that string job until his body turned into the aforementioned body parts necklace lmfao. So if reckless me 15 years ago can do it, you can too!

    18. @SacredMonsoon i do mine with a loop in each leg and try to put all knots in the torso. I attempt to get the arm knot somewhere in the middle of the torso but it usually migrates to one side.

    19. Haha @Mamo! :XD: i had high dreams of doing that back in the day as well! Feather's arms are the floppiest things, i think her body is starting to get loose too because she's kicky to stand and her legs are turning a bit weird :sweat i hope that i can wire her arms and i think ill be able to get her all fresh as well as put the other turn key mechanism for the supia body! I'm feeling much less lost now!

@coop52 ahh thank you! I had thought so, I will try to keep the knots to the middle!
