It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Crazy Ordering Stories

Apr 14, 2010

    1. Well, I did once camp out on Idrisfynn & St. James's floor overnight-- Iplehouse's Tan Lion LE was going to go on sale during the middle-of-the-night, there were only 10 of him, and my friends had a faster internet connection than I did. :XD: That's pretty nuts.

It turned out that they were starting to build his sales page at 0-dot-300, not starting the sale itself... so by the time the Purchase button appeared, it was 6 AM, and I could've gotten a whole night's sleep after all. Doh! But, when it comes to LE10s, you can't trust Fate, and in the end I got my Lion. My exquisite beloved incredible Karim. :aheartbea

(That sure feels like a loooong time ago, when I still had dial-up, and Iplehouse still used to do finite LE runs of 20 or 10 dolls apiece, first-come-first-served, so you had to scramble to get them!.... None of these luxurious open sales-periods that you kids have today. ^^ I guess it was 2006 or 2007, which, in dollery terms, might as well be the Mid-Cretaceous Era.)

    2. I'd have to say that the craziest thing happen to me was just a few days ago. For about a month I've been adding Adela from Impldoll into my shopping cart. XD It seemed like every time I left the page she would disappear from the cart. (No big deal because I didn't plan on buying her then.) I also added some of the smaller dolls to see shipping and stuff.
Well, a few days ago I decided to buy her. I added her to my cart and put in all my information. When I reviewed my purchase it said the grand total was 275 so I clicked next. It brought me up to Paypal and when I looked things over again the price said 660. I was a bit shocked so I looked into into the items list. Turns out they also added the things in my previous carts, which was another Adela and a Cyril. Freaking out I cancelled my paypal order and quickly emailed them. Thank goodness they were able to cancel the order! I couldn't sleep at all the night while I was waiting for their email back. T^T

    3. My biggest scare that was my fault was when I ordered my Jie Doll Michel in chocolate skin. I had wanted a dark doll for SO long and he was newly released and I was so excited! I put him on a 3 month layaway and paid the first chunk with birthday money. The next should have been easy, I was selling a doll and the payment should have come in right before my Michel's next payment was due....except the buyer was having financial trouble and would have to back out of the sale! I was in pure panic mode for a couple of days, trying to decide what on earth I could do to make this payment. I had already spent my paycheck because I "knew" I had money coming in! My husband told me he'd let me use savings, just to prevent defaulting on a layaway and losing everything......but just in time, the buyer came up with the money and ended up buying my doll anyway so I paid the Michel's payment and made SURE I held on to every penny before his next payment was due.

I've learned now that before starting a layaway I need to be SURE I have the money to pay it off, instead of counting on selling stuff that may or may not sell.

I still have my Michel. I'm not entirely bonded to him, but he's SO pretty. he just needs a revamp. :P

    4. That's kind of why I dont want to do layaway. XD I'm scared that I wont have the money to pay them off.

    5. I dunno if this really counts as all that crazy but it was at least a funny story to me. I recently ordered an Iplehouse Rexy three times. haha Let me explain. I recently got myself a new credit card and it has 0% APR for the first 7 months, so I wanted to take advantage! So I thought to myself I'll buy a doll on it and pay it off little by little.

Well, the first time I ordered her IH cancelled the order because I wasn't sure how to properly pay with a credit card. They have a credit card option but I think it's only for a specific bank? I'm not too sure, but I didn't know you could pay with a credit card via PayPal. So I reordered her again and this time paid correctly...or so I thought. I believe it was three days later I noticed the payment did not show on my statement, so I felt a bit nervous. I checked my other credit card to make sure I didn't make a silly mistake. Well of course I used the wrong credit card, my emergency card! I ended up messaging my credit card company online and they said there was nothing they could do. Then I found out I could do a balance transfer from the credit card I wanted to use but that would require me to pay a percentage rate which would be about $100 extra dollars. And I did not wanna do that! So I thought to myself let me just contact IH by email. The reason I didn't initially just contact IH was because it said my order could not be cancelled on my order status, so I thought there was no point in trying. But then I thought I might as well try because the worst they would say is they can't cancel the order for me or let me pay with another card. Then I thought to myself let me just contact their Q&A board since I bet they answer that more frequently. Well within two hours they cancelled my order for me and I ordered her on the correct credit card finally!

Moral of the story is...don't be in a huge rush to order a doll. Slow down and use the right payment method. :p

    6. Haha so I'm not the only one who did dry runs with the shopping carts on websites before finally ordering their first doll? Glad to know. XD I spent probably three times a week up until my mom finally sat down with me and ordered my first girl doing dry runs doing the math and everything.

    7. My craziest ordering story was for my latest girl, DollZone Linlan. I had been hoping for a tan Linlan for more than two years, but various attempts to buy one on DoA had all fallen through. I almost decided to just buy a normal resin one. Then I heard that DollZone was starting to make tan resin dolls again on March 15 of this year, so on the 15th I immediately bought her from an authorized dealer on ebay. And only a few days later on March 20th, DollZone announced that it would stop making the Linlan sculpt on April 20th! So I got her at the last minute.

The wait for her was ridiculously long because DollZone was horribly backed up from manufacturing their Anson and Moment dolls. It actually worked out well, because I could put her on layaway with the ebay seller. She took five months to get home, but I still think the wait was well worth it!

    8. I had a very bad experience with mint on card. I will not speak ill of them because it wasn't their fault but apparently it just wasn't meant to be.
Right before they moved to their current location they had informed that they'd be closed for some time while moving and setting up the new storefront. It just happens that I was looking for a sculpt for a character I had in mind and I found a dollzone girl that looked pretty close to what I wanted and it just so happens that mint on card had it in stock! I was on my cell browsing through their website and picked some other stuff (clothes and accessories I wanted) and went ahead to purchase.... the last day before they closed up shop!
I got everything sent and approved and then they asked for my CC number. It failed.
I sent it again (could've been a typo?) and again it failed.
They said I should try checking with my bank, so I did and they said it was all good to go and the card had plenty of credit to pay for it.
So the next day I sent them my information again. Guess what? It failed again!!!
I was so frustrated because I had to wait until they were back. The whole experience was so nerve wrecking I just gave up on the whole endeavor and chose another sculpt from iplehouse to embody my character. This is the only time I've "purchased" something (or at least I thought I had the first time) and not actually got what I wanted.

    9. Talk about practice carts!

When Soom re-released SO version Alk, I was in a dilemma because he was great for one of my characters though I was a bit concerned about the shape of the eyes (just nitpicking and trying to convince myself not to buy even though I was very much inclined to LOL). Anyway, I kept adding him to cart while hesitating, and sometimes I'd add a random quantity just to check that there're enough quantity for him to be in stock for a while.... After thinking about it for a few days, one morning while doing one of my "practice cart run", I got anxious enough to decide to get him there and then, so I login and tried to complete the order on my mobile phone. Apparently I was too anxious and brain dead enough to rush through the ordering process without double checking everything (the screen being so small to check everything properly was the perfect excuse) so I ended up plopping down an order for 4 Alk costing over $1K in total LOL!! I panicked and wrote a message on their board and luckily they were kind enough to cancel the order so that I could place a proper order for my boy... though I think they were probably laughing at me for being such a klutz. After that incident I swore never to buy a doll through my phone again LOL!

    10. I put Sarah on layaway and my first invoice from Iplehouse listed her as SID Leo with large bust. It was funny but I contacted Iplehouse immediately. My order was correct but somehow the invoice got messed up. I was glad I didn't get a boy with boobs.

    11. I ordered my second doll on layaway. When i saw status 'processing' i thought it meant that my doll was creating. In fact it only meant that my order was read )))
I had been looking for great body for seme character. Found Spiritdoll proud ver.2 male body. As it is cheaper to buy whole doll from one company, i decided to order a doll, train make-ups on the head i didn't really need and then sell the head. I ordered Spiritdoll Acer in one go. Without even minute thinking. I just saw HIM and ordered. During 3 months of waiting i tried to change my order 3 times. At last i wrote to the company but the head was ready by the time.
He came to me on Yoll (great winter holiday). It was real magic, as it was very frosty sunny day, Sunday, but our post office worked (!!!). There, at the post office Acer met with my other ordered doll and since then they didn't really need me, it seems ))) (joke)
I made box-opening at the post office. Without eyes, without wig, without make-up the doll seemed strange to me. Brought it home. Put eyes and wig on their places. 'It was the end of the fox'.
With his enormous large dark eyes Acer lookes like cat in darkness of my room. Sometimes he seems to me my good luck charm. Don't know about the future, but at the moment i'm not able to part with the head )))

    12. I was in a hotel in Japan when I ordered Siofra. Something happened with the internet and I didn't think the order went through at all, so I tried it again. ...And then found out I had ordered two dolls. :doh Fortunately I was able to get an email explaining the situation off to Dollmore right away and they cancelled the extra order. So it wasn't quite the disaster it could have been, but I was pretty scared for a few hours there (since this all went down after Dollmore had closed for the day).

    13. Lol this is a common thing with Dollmore! I did the same thing with my first order, only it went through three times :doh :doh

I messaged them in a panic and they canceled my extra orders with no issue. I know about a million other people who did the same XDDD Oh Dollmore....

I also accidentally sent a "mock" order of about ton of money that I didn't have all the way through. Had to have that one canceled as well. Dollmore got all my noobness back in the day. I'm surprised they still sell to me....

    14. Back in the day when DOD first released the DOT as a LE, they were a hot sell out. I was smitten with one of the boys (can't remember which one now ironically, think it started with a "c"). The moment the sale started I bought my boy. Imagine my surprise when a couple months later I opened my DOT box and a FEMALE full set Shall popped out.

I reached out to the company, but the boys were long sold out and all I could do was get a refund.
I should of been upset, but once I actually opened the Shall, I bonded RIGHT AWAY.
She had the most beautiful resin and faceup. It was done deal and she is still with me today and can't imagine my collection without her.

    15. This wasn't really crazy so much as amusing and kind of heartwarming that someone cared. I bought my first doll's head secondhand, and her body new, at the end of October. I live in New Jersey, and of course, a few days later, a hurricane hit the east coast. Apparently the person I bought the head from saw, on the news, in a different country, the pictures of the aftereffects of the tidal surge that turned my city into a lake for a couple days. She was kind enough to hold off on sending the head until she was absolutely sure that my city was okay, and that the doll wouldn't be drowned or anything. Though in practice, this was rather pointless, because it still took a while for the head to arrive. Still, it's touching that someone cares enough that when they see that the place they were about to mail a doll to is being destroyed, they hold off on mailing it and message the recipient to see if everything's okay.

    16. uhm uhm my story is not funny but very irresponsible XD it's about my first dolls: I've waited and waited (a couple of years) for ordering my beloved realpukis, mostly because I was afraid to order bjds...then everytime I had the money they were out of stock! in december 2011 I had lots of fund for them, I could also take 4 (from 0 to 4 was already crazy) but I asked fairyland and they said "not in the near future", I was sad (and mad) and I was tired of saving so I decided to order another bjd that was limited and with her another one (always tinies), I was so excited for getting my first bjds! and after 3 weeks what does fairyland do?? they create an event with even new realpukis!!!! only 3 weeks! how they couldn't know about the event when I asked? :| luckily before the event ended I was able to buy my 4 realpukis and in about 4 months I was mom of 7 tinies and a head!
have you known someone else who got 7 or more bjds after having none?
