1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Creature Doll! Armored Beauties ready for Adventure

Feb 26, 2017

    1. It might be worth emailing him if you only want a body...the site was completely closed until I emailed him about Mei. He might be willing to add other options back if there's interest :celebrate

    2. I'm surprised he would offer only complete dolls. He must have sent out a number of Mei heads that need bodies. I wish he had given us a month's notice so that we could stock up on other things as well, like wigs, shoes, weapons, etc.

    3. Yes I feel like this is highly unusual. Most companies give at least some notice before the stop and close up shop. I remember getting in on the last Not Doll Lab order years ago. What a shame...

    4. Perhaps he decided to close so abruptly because of discouragement? I felt so much pain and sadness from his words while reading the closing letter, you can tell he really loves doll-making and the fact that he had plans for other sculpts to be released makes it even more heartbreaking. I can't imagine what the experience has done to his mental/emotional health, but I really hope he continues making dolls in the future if that is what makes him happy. The dolls really are uniquely beautiful works of art, I feel like if the company had more exposure it would've been a huge hit. I hope Mr. Park doesn't give up on his dreams.

    5. Perhaps the entire concept, with artists making clothing, painting, etc, was too much and it sounds as though he tried to do everything.
It's either lack of money to hire help, or not delegating enough.
I do hope he will open up again. but, I didn't fall for one of his dolls until Karin. it takes time to build a following.
Then kapow! you can't keep up with orders. Look at Fifth Motif. He was just messing around. made one of the most wonderful bjds ever.
Now he can't get away from it. :kitty1

    6. I wonder if Mr. Park took time to share his concerns with other former Iplehouse sculptors (SY Choi of Raccoon Doll and J Baek of Dollits) and get their input? Raccoon's business seems to have taken off like gangbusters, but J Baek appears to have taken longer to get his business off the ground. It does sound like Mr. Park took on too much and should have hired help, but if lack of money is what kept him from hiring, then perhaps he should have taken things a bit slower and not tried to release so many dolls his first year in operation. He must have spent additional months on development and sculpting before he opened shop. That's a lot of time and effort to throw away in discouragement. I wish he had hung in there a little longer. One year is not enough time to know if a business will succeed. His dolls are wonderful and like others here I hope he tries again, maybe after he takes some time to rest and regroup. At the risk of sounding sappy, may I just say: We love you, Mr. Park.<3

    8. @skyealloway - Me, too. :atremblin I was hoping we would see male elves in the future.

    9. @vermont chick - exactly that. with great weapons and outfits.
so many ways to expand yet stay small which I think is the best way to have a doll company.
even mighty Volks is only a small part bjds.
I treasure my Karin even more knowing she might be the last Creature Doll I might own. :clover
just can't afford another one so soon.
perhaps Park would consider offering only dolls a few times a year in the future?
      a yearly event with a outfit/shoes/weapon?
some way to stay alive & get more customers.

    10. just saw this notice and wondered.
yeah- maybe they should have made more advertisement in forums and facebook maybe? cause the mature msd line seems to be very successful and it would have been a good company to jump on that waggon as well

    11. Yeah. Even Granado seems to think about shrink their beef down. They asked about the prefered size for this 2 days ago on facebook

    12. I wish I could have bought one of all the dolls in the last week. I should have at least followed vermont chick’s advice and asked Taewong for a body for the Mei head he sent me. Regrettttttts

    13. I wish he had reopened the limited dolls as well as the basics for that final week. Not with the outfits, because I'm sure he had those made only for the number of dolls sold originally, but it would have been nice to have a basic Phyllis or Eve or Alisa.

It was really odd to open my issue of Dolls Magazine for April and find a small ad for Creature Doll. His decision to close must have been really spur of the moment. I'll bet you're not the only one feeling regrets, @skyealloway. I'll bet he does, too.

    14. I would love to have Phyllis.
Has anyone noticed you can put things in your cart? Dolls, I mean. It doesn't say Sold Out like everything else.
maybe that one week extension got extended.
      just sayin'

    15. Mannnn an Alisa would be fantastic. Wow @vermont chick that is strange that he had paid advertising in Dolls Magazine...the plot thickens, there must be more to the story than just 'overall poor sales'.

Ahhh @petiteballerine ! The temptation! Maybe I'll email him and ask if I can still purchase a body or a full doll, just in case.

      EDIT
I forgot - my doll chateau hands finally arrived!
[IMG]New Doll chateau jointed hands! by Skyealloway, on Flickr
The color is 'normal pink' which is certainly not pink enough, but they are a great fit size wise, and I think with blushing and braclettes it'll be fine. So fun!

    16. @petiteballerine - I hadn't noticed, but that certainly is interesting. Too bad I can't afford another one. I did check the Limiteds this morning and they all read Sold Out.

@skyealloway - Congrats on the new hands. You're right, "normal pink" is not very pink. Blushing will definitely help for now, and who knows, maybe Creature Doll's resin will eventually mellow out to a compatible color.

    17. I made a new wig!
[IMG]My 2nd Wig! by Skyealloway, on Flickr
I'm very happy with this one. I used the exact same technique as before, but was much more careful when gluing the wefts. I was going for a 'world of warcraft' inspired look. She looks like she belongs in this wig; her other wigs made her look angry, but now she looks happy. Probably a trick of my imagination :sweat

    18. @skyealloway - What a great-looking wig! You did an excellent job on this one--I love everything about it. And I think you're right. She does look more content in this one. It could be that red is her color.:thumbup

    19. Love the style on her! Looks like you did a great job!

    20. she looks confident in red, and you did a great job making it!
