Custom House Little Junior and Junior discussion part 1

Regarding the lower lashes - I am a complete face-up newb, but I read in the Customizing-Painting etc section, that liquid watercolors work quite well. I haven't tried it on my dolls as I haven't had the time to give them face-ups, yet. I feel much more comfortable with the medium that with acrylics. Both of them have to be thinned down but with liquid water colors you can simply use water and don't need to worry about finding a good thinner.

Sirius53Black, I got my second LJ a couple of days ago and I was quite surprised to see that the LJ boy body had shrunk! The Meoroo (new) is at least an inch or so smaller than the Mars. Since the Meoroo is meant to be a girl (named Ginny ) I was quite happy to see it, but I still think it is odd.

Hamlet (LJ Mars) arrived home yesterday! YAY!!!!!!! (I'll post a picture as soon as I can). He was made this January and is 36.5cm tall, and Annabelle was made this May and if I remember correctly she's 34.5cm. I have to say, when I compare him to Annabelle, I notice I HUGE quality difference. Hamlet's resin is this lovely smooth, slightly toothy resin, but it has this luminescence when you see him in person. (he was a box baby when he was with his previous owner so he didn't have work done on him). He doesn't have any rough seams...no seams really. Now I look at Annabelle and feel really disappointed. Her resin in comparison is really rough and her seams are horrible. Her resin looks dull. *sigh* I feel bad that I just adore Hamlet just the way he is right now, and poor Annabelle needs so much work to get to where Hamlet is. Well, I love her as well, so I guess I better get to work!

 

I was so happy to see most of my yosd clothes work fine for LJs.
So she's wearing a YoSD t-shirt from TATA, and YoSD handmade leggins. The sleeves are a bit short, but i like it.
and on a linked up session, she has my favourite rosenlied Tuesday's Child coat she looks gorgeous in it!

now i'm on a hunt for shoes for her :/

 

Really? That's great! I think I'll try YO sized clothes on my girl too. As for the boy, I'm not sure, I think pants will be too short! Lol!

 

You don't see many of the Vintage Ai around, but they're so cute. Meanwhile, I spoke to my favourite face-up artist and she's going to start on my customhouse dolls next week.

guls: What type of faceup are you thinking about? Natural? Make-up-ish? Dramatic?

 

I wanted a natural look for Annabelle. Her personality is supposed to be sweet and gentle.

Aaaw! Thank you so much! I love this boy so much! I started bonding with him right out of the box!

 

wheee....Syaoran`s custom wig is ready and will be shipped shortly! I`m so happy! I haven`t really taken pictures of the poor boy because of the lack of his right wig. I can`t wait to start the picture taking happiness.

Thank you so much! Hamlet is wearing 12mm hand glass eyes. He can with 14mm acrylics but his eye wells seem to be smaller than other LJ boys and he looked like a really tall child! I like the 12mm much better! Annabelle, however wears 14mm and it works just fine on her...12mm shows major gaps with her (Icarus) sculpt. I think she can easily wear 16mm as well.

Foxxian, Great shot of Akiro! I love his wig and necklace! I think my YOSD boy might like a similar hairstyle. where did you find it?

 

guls207 - Thanks! ^^ The necklace I made, and he has a matching bracelet also. The wig is actually from dollmore.. but you wont find it in this style. I modded it. Before it looked like a mullet cut, and I didnt like it at all.
