1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Custom House Little Junior and Junior discussion part 1

Jan 29, 2007

    1. Woot! Syaoran's new wig arrived! It's a custom fur wig from one of the girls here on DoA. I think she did an amazing job for just using measurements that I gave her! I love it so much....I would totally buy more fur wigs from her if I needed to. :D

    2. finallyiamnoone, very cute picture of Zoey.

      Siruis53Black
, that's a nice wig on your boy. I'd love to see a picture of both you little ones together at some point of time.

I've finished Ginny, my Meoroo's fae-up. It's only the second one I've ever done and it's not quite perfect. However, I'm pleased that she no longer has to run around looking like a little alien. n_n I'll try taking better pictures today. It's been raining yesterday and the day before and since I don't have my day-light lamp here at my parents' all the pictures turned out :ablah:

    3. That is a nice wig. I've been thinking of going the fur wig route. They look so cute on the boys.

    4. I think I may look at them as well. That wig looks cute on him. I never used to like them, but sometimes they work better than normal wigs.

    5. I posted a box opening for Ginny (my Meoroo girl). Here's a picture of her with a temporary face-up by myself.

    6. Syaoran's new wig looks fantastic! I actually like fur wigs on boys (it gives them that messy-handsome look that I'm nuts about! LOL!) ;)

Ooooh Ginny looks ADORABLE! *runs off to see more pics*

Curse you custom house! I would have bought more dolls if your service didn't go down the drain! =P

    7. I left Iskeri with friends for faceup, manicure and a little bit of work - his head needs some mods so the ring doesn't just slip through the neck hole whenever it wants and pop his head off. Said friends do beautiful work so I can't wait to see~. I've been reluctant to take pics because he's still blank and not quite himself yet. Plus the head popping off made it difficult lol...

I agree, iftheir service hadn't disappeared I would have bought more.

    8. Thanks! I'm still unsure what to do about wigs with both Micah (my Mars) and Ginny.

      I so agree!

      Tanu-chan
, I used to feel the same way about blank dolls, since they are characters with stories and such and so they don't just run around faceless. But actually, there's something very neat about blank heads. They make you realize all that potential that's in a sculpt. I love looking at blank heads before I buy a doll, because face-ups can hide and change so much.

    9. Oh I agree. The difference between his blank head and the one on their website is phenomenal. I never would have guessed that marco's have a bit of an open mouth by their pictures alone. I'm just not incredibly huge on showing off incomplete projects. That being said, I do have cute pictures of him before I dropped him off. I just have to get them after I get home and can actually post them.

    10. Yay! My wig from Leeke finally showed up! There was a bit of a hurricane out this way and the side that the package was stuck on was hit pretty bad. It had been sitting about 8hrs away for about a week now...very fustrating. But, it`s all good now...and here is Tomoyo in her new Leekeworld wig!

    11. Her new wig really becomes her. And with her beautiful face and dark hair. she looks amazing in red.

    12. Sirius53Black, the new hair goes so well with her lavender eyes. She's so pretty!

    13. Woo! So, after a month and a half almost, I finally have my order with Custom House fixed. They sent me the yeonu that I ordered, and told me to keep the marco. So now I have a new little guy home - he arrived today, and I have to say, I half think they were trying very hard to make sure they sent me something as a means of apology. No seams, no breaks, bubblewrapped carefully in the correct box with fluffy pillows. The only "flaw" is a little bit of excess resin in a few areas, and he seems to have just been freshly removed from the cast. He needs a bath, but not because he's dirty, just because he seems a little... shiny.

Anyway! His name is Yuki. I took pictures, but I'll be posting them later because it's late and they require some editing. Color correction, size, all that good stuff. And he needs some of his own stuff. I was woefully unprepared because I was so busy paying off other things I haven't been able to get him his own eyes or wig or... well.. anything...

    14. Tanu-chan, that's so great to hear. Congrats! I'm glad they actually made an effort this time. Please spam us with some pictures of your new guy as soon as you can.

    15. That's nice, glad to hear they did something instead of ignoring the problem.

    16. Trust me I was pretty sure they were ignoring me. I'd just sent them my last messages saying I was through with them and would be recommending them to absolutely nobody when they randomly decided after a month to tell me they were shipping the yeonu. Up to that point I'd been bugging them on an increasingly frequent basis, and once the date they said they were shipping the yeonu had passed I started leaving messages for them in every way I could contact them every day until I got a response. It was an ordeal.

That being said, I will happily spam him in his temporary wigged (he's borrowing from my DOC right now) glory. Since it's a holiday weekend I won't have much time for fixing my pictures, but hopefully come Monday, if I haven't gotten around to them already, I might have new pictures with faceup as well.

    17. Tanu-chan, what do you mean about giving him a bath? Is it something you do to remove shininess?

    18. Tomoyo looks very cute in her new wig! Did you do her face up?

Hamlet and Annabelle's heads are still out for faceups :( It's been a month now.
While they are gone, I figured I can at least try to do some maintenance on their bodies. I restrung the bodies and Anabelle seems to pose better now (although some hot glue will probably help a lot more).
My problem is Hamlet's body. I restrung him a few times but he is completely stiff! I think I'll replace the strings in both of them.

Can anyone recommend a good string/string size? I'd hate to have to send them to a customizer for something so simple.

    19. Thanks Guls! Yes I did her faceup....I tend to do all my kids now as I don`t want to pay for the company faceup (iz cheep) and also don`t worry as much about anything happening as I can just redo it. :)

Still working on clothing for the buggers....but here`s another picture of Tomoyo in her new wig!

    20. I give them a bath partly because I get them blank so any residual resin dust gets washed off, and I was hoping it would remove some of the shininess too. My husband thinks it may just be a bit of residue left from the mould the resin gets poured into so the doll doesn't stick. Either way, bath is a part of my regular dolly arrival routine now. The task also forces me to get familiar with how a company strings their dolls - especially if I have no other dolls from the company in the house :D
