1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Custom House Little Junior and Junior discussion part 1

Jan 29, 2007

    1. Weeeell, that is kind of tricky. Some MSD things fit them just fine, some look kind of baggy. If you are looking for pants, you might find some 3/4 pants or shorts that look ok on them. I don't have a Yo-SD sized doll, so I don't know how their clothes would fit, but I imagine they might be too tight as well as too short.

If you want to have something for your LJ that fits, you might want to try Narsha clothes. I personally don't like them that much, because I have a boy who is into snowboarding and Narsha clothes are mostly rather girly. But you might find something you like.

    2. My Little Juniors can wear a lot of Yo-sized clothes. It's a bit trial and error, though. You might also want to have a look at clothing for Creedy BJDs -- the dolls are OT here, but the clothes for the 10'' and 12.75'' dolls are great for LJ-sized dolls.

    3. Good to know! Thanks, guys. I'll probably just poke through what I've got when he gets here and see what fits him, although ultimately I'm going to make him more apropriate clothes. I know they have the measurings on the site, but I've never been good at sewing off of abstract measuring. I'm gonna need the boy here to be able to make him something. When I get him in and make his outfit, I'll have to post him up. My sewing is still very ameteur, but I'm getting better.

    4. Yeay, just send out my LJ Mars for a spa treatment! I had been on the waiting list since January and (of course) had already decided on a new doll. My sleeping MNF Karsh head came just a few days before I got the ok to send my Mars and so I asked her if I could send my Karsh along. So now I'll have two heads ready at the same time and I saved on shipping as well. ^^

      I am so excited!

    5. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried putting little jr heads on minifee bodies? Or other mature/skinny minis with better posing range?

I adore my Mars head sculpt and wouldn't change it for the world but I'm getting fed up with with his complete inability to pose =( Resin color match does not matter as I've had my guy for 5 years already and he has yellowed.. I'm thinking of buying a WS body and blushing to match.

Right when I got him I put loose elastic in so that he has more natural posture. I tried making the gooves in his legs deeper so that he can sit up right and I sanded his neck so that he can look up, but nothing helps much.

I would like him to be able to sit more naturally, not with his legs straight out in front of him, all stiff and robot like. But I'm not even sure what I can change to achieve that. If he could point toes and hold his hand postion it would be great too...

    6. Yeah, I know what you mean, mittens! My Mars is poses as stiffly as a plank of wood and sits at a very awkward angle. I read somewhere that somebody had put wire into a CH Ange Ai that helped with posing. I am not sure, how much that would help with LJs. I guess it would be worth a try, especially since I'd like mine to stay as little as he is. Putting him on a normal MSD-sized body simply isn't an option for me.

    7. Hmmmm, I got a pair of customhouse Ais and they appear to match most yellow normal resins fairly well. I've got a dragondoll body that they blend with. I've got a set of little juniors coming and a set of Juniors as well.

    8. I hot glue sueded my LJ girl body, and it really does help quite a bit. She isn't suddenly a fabulous poser, but she can now lock her legs into different positions, slouch on command, hold up her arms, etc. The only thing it didn't really help with was her awful elbows. I think a bit of wire would be useful for those.

    9. After looking at photos of the minifees I realized that I still like his skinny little body sculpt more =/

Hot glue is a good idea, I was skeptical it would help much and now I wish I had tried it sooner. I just tried some kips discs from my friends Volks doll and wow -- it does help a lot. He can finally hold arm positions, head positions, etc. So I'm getting the scilicone sheet from pupapa.com next. He does have more range after I sanded his joints, but he just can't hold the position... so kips + some hot glue in difficult places should help.

    10. I'd be really interested in seeing how well that's going to work. Please come here and spam us with some pictures of your Mars doing awesome poses once you are done!

    11. Hm, I'm kinda tempted by the new CH sale. A Meoroo girl would really be something!:D

I am somewhat confused though. Is there a Meoroo and a Meoloo? I think I've seen both names. What's the difference between them?

    12. Hi,
I ordered a Hades head during the December event and am getting a bit impatient i fear. ^^
As it is to put on a Ange Ai body, would anyone have an idea how to make it work ? There is a 7mm difference between the neck of the Ange and the hole of the head.

    13. I don't think I've seen anyone with a mod like that. I guess you could put air drying moddeling clay inside the head to make the hole smaller. That shouldn't be too hard.

But why do you want to put it on an Ange Ai body?

    14. Because the Ange Ai body is already hybrided with Glot leg. :sweatAnd Hades is THE head for that doll.

Thanks for your answer, i'll try that once the head will be home.

    15. That makes sense then. :) Best of luck with it!

Please come back and post pictures. I'd be interested to see how that worked out.

    16. It's the same sculpt, no difference. When CH first released that head, they released it as "Meoloo", but now they're calling it "Meoroo". I still have "Meoloo" in my wishlist on CH. Same way "Gene" became "Jin", even though it's the same sculpt (and the same pronunciation, I suspect). Hope that helps. :)

    17. Yes, it does. :) Thank you!

    18. About shipping times: My November 11 order changed status from "preparing order" to "preparing to ship" on April 3. That's just short of 5 months and doesn't really say my Darea and Jupiter have been shipped yet. This is my second CH order, so haven't been holding my breath. I am so anxious to see them, although a bit surprised that folks are saying they don't pose well. The CH shots of Darea make it look as if she poses beautifully.

    19. The good thing about BJDs is that there are an awful lot of fixes for problems if you want to work on them. You can always body swap if you're not happy, mod joints, suede for extra flexibility and posing. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing mine eventually and I'd love to see some owners photos once you get your Little Juniors.

    20. I'm up for all kinds of fixes. I've tried hot-glue sueding and suede sueding with my Petites and although it works initially, the surfaces seem to either get slick or dirty and less effective. Are there instuctions anywhere for joint modding? "Cause I love the bodies and am a little chicken to just start filing or adding epoxy onto the surfaces. How do you mange with so many dolls? My 2 girls are attention hogs and I'm not sure they're going to appreciate sharing attention with the new ones who are coming.
