Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. This ban does not apply to other company dolls cast by Dollshe as part of a casting agreement between him and the actual sculpt or company and those dolls may still be discussed on the forum. D-Storic Bimong event: resin distortion

    1. Yay, good news from the waiting room:
      That is the first replacement of the warping dolls!
       
    2. Rosinha, I read that and it is great news isn't it! Hopefully replacements for Evelien and the others will follow now as well:).

      @Muisje: I never trusted Catrina (she was way to weird when it came to denying that FR yellows, and other small things as well), but I trusted Bimong. And D-Storic too. Iโ€™m glad I never had any sort of customer relationship with Charles actually, though I know people who did and who feel devastated now. Itโ€™s just such a mess every time.
      It makes me wonder why did I order a Narae again? Because I believed it would be ok ofcourse but still, I do feel a bit dumb. I mean, itโ€™s the n-th time for me. Youโ€™d think you would learn. But I trust peopleโ€™s/companies intentions (or not, in some cases). I hope Iโ€™m not making anyone mad with this but I still hold hope that everything will be resolved. By which I mean: dolls shipping and refunds made, you canโ€™t repair the emotional damage that is done.

      I totally understand your and otherโ€™s p.o.v though, because it is basically just a feeling on my side that a certain character is trustworthy (D-Storic is not written off by me yet though I understand that it is for others, I am not claiming to be right in this) and others arenโ€™t (Catrina, Charles, who are both real deceivers I think, liars). It's very subjective, a feeling, which is usually not a good guideline to base action on.

      I think it says something when it's almost easier for you to be in the other position now though. It is kind of sad as ofcourse you have a right to your own doll, but knowing it is different from feeling it. I hope this mess will resolve and soon. I really loved the idea you had for your girl.
       
    3. Mawi did not have problems after all, it was a flaw in the mould, iirc - but I pm-ed the owners of the missing tracking numbers. So glad there's some progress finally.

    5. @Anne Mae, I think you are right. There is no need for someone to feel because they received a doll that they paid for and waited for just like everyone else. I am still waiting for my doll - seriously doubt that it will ever arrive, by now - but I really don't mind seeing that other people on here received their dolls already. I noticed that there are people on here, who orderd their dolls after me, but they received their doll a while back already, while I am still waiting. But I think, it's not that person's fault, they obviously have no control over D-storic, and when they ship out these dolls. And the person paid and waited for the doll, just like I did, so I don't think they have any need to feel guilty. This entire situation with D-storic is not the fault of their customers, anyway.
      @02tina, congrats on finally receiving your doll! Enjoy your doll!:)
       
    6. Malvina, I wasn't saying that you shouldn't be upset that you have not received your doll, nor have I *ever* said that D-Storic shouldn't be more communicative. In fact, I've said a number of times that it's an error on their part, and that it has done a lot to erode goodwill on the part of their waiting customers. (I've also pointed out that the translation thing is an issue, yes, just because people kept saying that they were upset that their Q&A requests/e-mails weren't being answered.)

      I was actually just responding to this:

      That's why I mentioned that they didn't expect the volume of sales, and that their business plan was based on the volume of sales (and translations, and packages shipped) that they had expected based on their sales to date. The situation with Bimong was unexpected, and in my opinion, that's why this whole thing has gotten so out of control.

      I am really, really hoping that everyone gets their dolls, and in the end, that you're all happy with them.

      I'm not sure why pointing out that there are contributing factors (and answering questions like "how they planned on running the company") constitutes saying that they are not at fault for the mistakes that they *have* made, or that they are not responsible for filling all of the orders that were placed and paid for.

    7. Now that they actually seem to be replying on the Q&A board, I posted about my doll again. In their latest notice they mention the deformity on several FR dolls but they fail to mention the deformed KR dolls..? I wonder if they will do something for me too.

      In all fairness, the deformity on my doll is not too bad, it's just the wrist. But the deformity combined with the discoloration is probably a sign that something's wrong with the resin.

      What's weird, is that my girl discolored very quickly in certain parts. Muisje gave me a tip: have her yellow all over so that she'll at least be an even colour again. But now that she's been on the window sill in the sun for several weeks, it's taking ages for her to yellow uniformly!! Makes me wonder what caused the extreme discoloration at the start..? :(
       
    8. Are you leaving the yellowed areas in the sun as well? Because yellowing works similarly to tanning your skin--if one part is tanned more than the rest you have to keep it OUT of the sun while tanning other areas in order to make it even. If you're leaving the yellowed parts in the sun as well it's not going to fix your problem--the discoloured areas will only get worse while the rest is always a step behind.
       
    9. D-storic told me the same copy-paste bs about FR real. I specificly replied about KOREAN RS. They said they will make it and send it out but honestly, I don't know...I'm still on guard. I plan to ask again at the end of the month once they ship out some more orders.
       
    10. I didn't get a reply yet on the Q&A board.

      moonlitparadox, I was told that my doll had yellowed as much as possible in some areas and I think they were right. So those areas shouldn't yellow any further. She's yellowed almost evenly on her front now, a few joints need to be exposed as well before I can turn her over though.
      Should I get a replacement doll, this could make for an interesting comparison. The colour difference is extreme. And that's coming from a colourblind person :P
       
    11. I'm posting about this in the waiting room but I should really be posting here instead. I got a reply on the Q&A board, Loca wants to see pictures, so I posted pictures. I'm a bit worried about what will happen now. What if they say I'm being over-dramatic because the resin on my doll has hardly warped..? :( This whole thing made me very insecure. But I can't feel much love for my Narae at the time. I tried giving her a new faceup yesterday but I just couldn't do it with love if you know what I mean. I failed miserably.
       
    12. I haven't heard anything in a while in regards to my replacement. I wonder if I need to re-question them..again. Why wouldn't they contact the people they plan on replacing?
       
    13. I've also replied in the waiting room, but they have a new spokesperson, Loca, who hasn't checked old communication you may have already had with D-Storic, so you need to make a new post on their Q&A board and attach/link to pics.

      I received an email from her. They want to replace my wrist piece (I assume they're talking about the lower arm part) but I'm not sure if I should settle for that. I'm worried that something is wrong with the resin. The torso piece is leaving dents (albeit very small ones) in the abdomen and the headback is leaving deep dents in the neck. It seems too soft overall.
       
    16. Did you also show the pictures you posted in this thread that showed the early resin discolouring? In my opinion you shouldn't settle for anything less than a replacement for the full doll, as a doll should not discolour that fast. I doubt they could send a replacement piece that matches anyway.
       
    17. Yes, I did give them those pictures. I also sent new pictures and said I wouldn't settle.
       
    18. If they offer to only replace parts of my doll I'll be livid! She has distortions on every limb! Her pelvis piece seems ok but I'd rather have the whole thing replaced. Her legs and arms have indeed warped further! I really should post new pictures. :(
       
    19. guls207 I did post a new question..with pictures..(I think on 7/20) because I wanted to make sure Loca knew of my issue. I got a response and a tracking number today so hopefully my replacement will arrive without issues..I'll keep everyone here updated as soon as she gets here. :)
