1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

D-Storic Bimong event: resin distortion

Apr 14, 2013

    1. malvina, I definitely agree there's something wrong with your girl's lower lip and it looks like it has drooped down. Here's a quick cellphone pic of mine for now. If you like, I can take some better photos tomorrow in the day and you're free to use them for comparison.

    2. thank you so much, I will use this one, and RobbinA's pictures, I hope to have time tomorrow to write them again. I also left a massage on the board to refer them to the mails, so here we go, another endless wait , I have to admit I am quit tired of all this waiting :( and also being nervous they won't replay or won't agree to change her, well, we'll see, hope for a good luck with them.

    3. I am not so sure about the lip problem. ^^:; I looked at all the pics, and can't see any real difference between them. I've painted a few Naraes, and lots of Unoas that are brand-new... if Narae is like Unoa, the open area in the mouth must be cut open manually after casting. Do you think it could have been opened larger? I am not really seeing it in the pics, though, but I do know things can look frustratingly different from 2D to 3D, so what you're seeing in person may not be evident to us onscreen.

The gate area discoloration and marks are par for the course, as someone said upthread. I've had a few tan dolls and they all had discolorations in these areas. I think once she's painted and wearing a wig, it won't be evident.

I'm sure she'll be gorgeous painted, as long as her resin isn't sticky or warping, then maybe see if you can make her work for you? Unless they require the faceplate to be returned or something...

I said I'd report on my Mindulrae (Dandelion) a week after tightening her strings. No issues. I sanded her few seams, and the resin has behaved normally so far in every way, whew!

    4. well, as I said before, I can't do anything with her cause every time I touch her my skin burns, and the small is so strong I don't take her out, cause I don't want my baby girl who plays near me to smell it. so I can'y fix her or paint her and I will gladly return her if D-storic pays the shipping, I've already spent too much on her than I would on any other head, D-storic didn't undeclared her as I asked, and it was another 60$ duty. so I will not agree to pay anything else for her.

of course some can see difference more than others, and yes the real thing is much worse than in pictures. any picture I saw so far from others I will take gladly instead of mine. as for the head marks, I really like my dolls bold sometimes, so it makes a difference to me, but no one to blame, I didn't know it is a common thing, I really wanted to try a tan doll this time, I guess MSC and some Photoshop will do the work.

and now for update... 8 days and still no replay to my mail, and not even getting close on the board.

    5. i have monitored my girl over a week now, and she hasn't changed..she needs a re-string but i am too scared just incase she warps....i know i am just being paranoid....My girl was the KR Ivory version who came through pink she was ordered 21 november 2012 and she was delivered 3rd March 2013

    6. D-Storic released this today:

    7. This notice is not from today, but 4 days ago, it is sweet they made this notice, but they don't do anything else about all the issues, not answering mails, not answering the board as they promised, I really don't know what to do next.

    8. Malvina, when I had an issue with a previous order (EMS lost the package in transit), it took a frustratingly long time to get a response -- but I DID eventually get a response, and they actually made me a new (fullset limited!) doll to replace the one who had been lost.

They're slow to communicate, and that is a problem (I wish their translator wasn't also their face-up artist, but I don't know that they can afford to hire a new translator, who has knowledge of BJDs, just to get through the backlog of orders and messages from the Bimong event), but they have always made things right once they do get in contact.

I hope that you can get a replacement head that doesn't have the messy mouth-cuts or the chemical-irritation issue. Or give you a refund, if you prefer.

FWIW, I received my two pink KR Ivory heads yesterday (the pink wasn't as bad as I feared -- you can't tell at all on the head with the face-up, it's just that the headcap is pinker than the body that I received in November), and they're both in perfect condition, no resin problems.

So, for sake of the list -- pink KR ivory, ordered in December, resin is just fine. (I also ordered two "cat sets," one in KR Ivory and one in Grey, and they're fine, too.)

    9. any of you who got replied through mail (and not the board) to what mail address did you send your massages? and how fast did they replay to you?

I am asking cause I got a strange delivery notice for my massage to [email protected]

    10. That's the address that I used to contact them and that they replied from. However, your best bet is to try to contact them through the board, because that's where the translator is going to be checking -- I don't know who is reading the e-mails, since they've asked customers to use the board.

      What did the reply say?

      -- A <3

    11. I did write 3 massages on the board as well, but the mails are longer with more pictures so I used the board as reference.
I also sent two mails with a "read conformation" option, and I got a note that the massage was delivered but their system does not support this kind of conformation, so I will not know if they read it or not. so I wanted to make sure I am writing to the right mail.

as for the board, I check all the time and I don't see they are moving ahead with answering, not to me and not the many people before me. it is now 20 days since I got my damaged head, and it is still in a box, I don't get to enjoy her and it feels as if I am still waiting for her to arrive, this is by far the longest wait I had from any company, even notorious Dollfair sent my doll eventually after 4 months and did reply some of my mails. even was willing to refund me if I wanted. As for D-storic, I did not ever communicated with them, not even once they replied me since I wanted to order in November. And I wrote them quit a few massages, it was suppose to be a bad sign, but I have read good reviews about them, so I thought it will be OK.

    12. I contacted them via email ([email protected]) on February. I had to send 2 messages with days of difference to they respond me. Now, they are missing in action, so I don't think they'll respond you. Maybe you are getting this message because they are overbooking and can't receive more. I don't know, i'm only saying my impression.

    13. well, I see on the board that they only answer to questions written in Korean, I am guessing they don't have a translator. so I am thinking maybe someone here can help me and translate a massage for me to Korean? cause using Google translate is not the best result usually.....anybody can help?

    14. So… here is what the credit card company told me: I could contact them within 120 days, which of course no longer relevant, I waited for this head over 120 days. the only thing they could suggest is that I will send the head back, that will be of course without D-storic's approval, cause they simply don't answer. Within 30 days since I send it back I can contact the credit company and they will send D-storic a request of refund, but they don't promise me that D-storic will agree or even answer them. so it will be a risk of losing the head, not getting a refund, or getting a refund for the head only, not the shipping which was 30$ and another 60$ custom duty, and no one can even promise me that. So what do you think I should do? Cause this has became a total nightmare for me.

I even didn't buy I a new doll for my birthday cause I am so traumatized with the whole D-storic thing. this is the first time in so many internet purchases, that something like this has happened to me, and this is after the Dollfair's case, which ended well eventually, this time I am totally hopeless, heartbroken and mad. what to do?

I still need your help if anyone speaks Korean and can translate my massage to Korean, so Dstoric can read without a translator….HELP !!!

    15. Hello! I would just like to point out something that was briefly mentioned--they do have a translator, but they only have one translator and that person is also their face-up artist. I know the wait is frustrating (I was told 3rd or 4th week of April for shipping and still nothing), but the more messages you post when you don't get a reply, the longer it's going to take for them to respond because you're adding to the number of messages this person has to translate on top of finishing the face-ups.

    16. Thank you, Moonlitparadox. It has been a week since D-Storic answered even a Korean message, so I think they are immersed in doll production due to the extra delay. It will probably not help much to look for a translator. It would indeed help more if those who posted double messages on the D&A board to delete them. The longer the list, the more messages D-Storic will skip.

I understand frustrations about waiting completely, but I think nothing can be done to make them answer. They put priority on finishing existing orders over replacing faulty orders or even processing cancellations. It is just the way they work. If a credit card company can't help, the Korean Consumer Agency might be able to (see link earlier in this thread). I would only approach them if you want a refund. If you want a replacement, you will have to wait anyway. I have decided to wait for my doll rather than start a charge back. I can always try that when I'm sick of waiting again, but somehow after the notice I can accept how they work, even if I don't agree. Plus I don't want to order anything else and go through new waiting and insecurities.

I updated the first post with new insights after I took a better look at the Souldoll case. Thanks to all for contributing to this thread also about other problems with the Bimong dolls, it's very helpful to understand more about dolls and casting in general.

    17. I haven't been playing with my narae body because I am a little worried about the fact that it might not be fully cured or something, but I'm also wondering, maybe that's all that was wrong with her? She doesn't smell particularly strong, she just smells like new resin, like all new dolls I've had when they arrived. The thing is that she really doesn't seem to be getting worse anymore, even though it's been a few more weeks. It's just the ankles and one wrist that are even affected... Is there any way to test if the resin is dangerous? I'm thinking, even though I'll end up using the new body when it arrives (It should get here within the next two weeks, based on the shipping date...) I may 'test' the first body by restringing it a bit tighter, to see if it will continue to warp under more pressure, since it seems like it may not STILL be warping... I don't know... Especially since she seems to be the ONLY KR yellow ivory doll to have this problem. Mostly I'd like to know if it's dangerous, because if it's NOT, I may use it for mod practice, but ONLY is it's safe!

    18. Your doll is still a mystery... Does clothing make indents on your doll? If it's not cured properly, it should be softer. Stringing the doll tightly or putting pressure on the surface should make the resin distort. I hope you will put up pictures once the other body arrives so we can take a proper look at both pairs of wrists and ankles.

    19. Malvina - does the babelfish website translate Korean to English? I sometimes try to use it for Japanese. Not sure if that was the kind of translator you want

    20. Internet translators will not help very much, as they aren't always correct and it might make things more confusing.
