1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

D-Storic Bimong event: resin distortion

Apr 14, 2013

    1. It does sound like a different problem. Nobody else mentioned the smell and the burning sensation, so it could also be yet another problem with the curing of resin. They did not say they would contact those people, they just mentioned there were 5. Nobody of our list has been contacted by them. Some people managed to get in touch with them about a replacement.

      - I edited the quoted post. If your doll isn't warping, there would not be more than 5 people on the Q&A with resin deformation. Except if they're Korean, but we can't check that.

    2. I'm reposting the link to the Korean Customer Agency that Jeanette posted in the waiting room:

Several people have already filed a complaint there. If you are at a loss for what to do, try filling out the form. Hopefully it will prompt D-storic to communicate again.

    3. On the plus side, Anne May's dolls arrived -- so they are still making and shipping orders (and her order status is still "item processing"):

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...in-etc)-v3&p=10050942&viewfull=1#post10050942

The issue is that they can't keep up with mail/update the boards AND be working to get orders out at the same time. While, ideally, they should hire a translator to work on communication while Miss Day is working on face-ups, I can understand that they can't necessarily afford the expense.

So -- at least the good news is that dolls are still shipping out, and hopefully those of you who have defective dolls will have a replacement show up on your doorstep soon!

      -- A :)

    4. Who managed to get in touch with them, anyone from here? and how did they do that, mailing them or through the board?

    5. Chrissa5girl and 02Tina both reached D-Storic through the Q&A board afaik. I don't know the status of their replacement order. Just that Chrissa5girl was offered a replacement body. And 02Tina got in touch with them, but is still waiting for a response to further questions? I hope they can both chime in.

    6. I contacted Dstoric on 3/24 about my doll warping and they said they would review the situation and get me a replacement doll within 3 weeks...it's been longer than 3 weeks. I've since left more messages on their board with no response.

    7. I sent them an email a week ago and five weeks ago and got no response.

I only just put my new high heeled feet on my Narae and I'm starting to think the ankles are bulgy too, but I'm not sure.

    8. Nothing new to report I can not, do not respond to the letters, promised to send a replacement, but when it is not known whether it will be and I do not know.

    9. To Malvina: One of our fellow D-Storic ladies (and gents) in "waiting" contacted them through Skype. I don't have Skype or I would have contacted them asap. You can read her post at:
Forum * News and Reviews * Company Reviews * Customer Service Reviews * D-Storic's Lack of Communication Problems * Animadictsaiyuki

Maybe if more people start contacting them through Skype, they might respond! Sigh! It's supposed to be a lot less expensive than calling directly!

    10. Big sigh.

The second body never arrived... I think perhaps after I had contacted them the first time about it, before I was worried about warping on the first body, they most likely were able to stop the delivery after the fact, as they did say IF it arrived I could keep it, though they didn't say if they would try to stop the delivery or not, so I didn't think about it much until now. This isn't a huge problem for me, because the first body doesn't seem to be warping anymore, but it still definitely did warp a little bit. Actually, now that I think about it, she doesn't appear to have warped further, but she feels a little bit harder to stand up, like her right ankle won't bend forward enough... But I'm not 100% sure... It doesn't LOOK different at all. I had figured, with a new body on the way, and D-storic's lack of communication, I would just not mention the warping thing because I wasn't even sure it was happening, and there would technically already be a replacement body! But it hasn't arrived, it's been almost two months since it shipped, I don't know how long the first one took to ship because I didn't get a notification for it... I'm wondering if I should even do anything, because it seems like D-storic just ISN'T replying to anything right now and most likely wouldn't get back to me for months anyway, if ever... Plus, I'm okay with the body the way it is, and I'm going to give the doll as a gift to a family member anyway(they know about the maybe-warping and they're okay with it too) and I would have just ended up selling the second body, but I don't know anymore... Am I entitled to an unflawed body that I won't even keep?

    11. Ok...so my lovely Korean friend came over and we called D-Storic by Skype! Here is the gist of the conversation. Good news. D-Storic is still in business and working hard to get the orders shipped. They are making a big push to get all the orders done including replacing the defective dolls that were sent out. The person that has been handling the communications is the CEO Kim Seung Yeon and he is #1... in and out of the office and #2... felt that getting stuff done was more important than letting us know stuff was getting done. My friend asked several times, very nicely for D-Storic to post an update on their website right away. Hopefully, they will listen and post an update soon.

More good news if it is the truth...The lady my friend spoke to said that they were aiming at shipping out the bulk of the orders in two weeks. I really hope so!

My friend found out the the CEO Kim Seung Yeon will be in later today so she is going to get up at 2:00 in the morning our time to call him directly and get more answers! (We help each other out a lot. I sew goodies for her daughter and she is now my interpretor as well as my friend!!!)

So...everyone can breathe a (tentative) sigh of relief and we will see what happens in two weeks!

Anyway, my friend will be calling me tomorrow with more information from the CEO. I will post it after she calls me! I hope that this info. helps everyone feel a bit better and that we hear from the website soon! Its 10:00 pm here and I am off to bed! Sweet dolly dreams folks!

    12. Good morning to my fellow Ladies (and gents) in Waiting. Some new info. from my friend's telephone conversation at 2:00 AM our time 3:00 PM Korean time.

She did ask them about the defective dolls and the lady's reply was that the have resolved the resin problem and will be shipping out replacements along with the rest of the orders they will be shipping in two weeks. I have no idea what they want you to do with the toxic and warped dolly parts??? Hopefully when you receive your replacements they will let you know!

Though she didn't come right out and say it, my friend and I got the impression that the CEO who is handling the communications side of the situation felt that all the effort should go towards finishing and shipping the orders rather than keeping the website updated. When my friend talked to D-Storic again at 2:00 in the morning our time she didn't get much more information.

The lady we first talked to was the person my friend talked to again. This lady did talk to the CEO about the situation and his response was: we are working very hard to get everything done and shipped out by the two week deadline. She reported that he also said he will put an update on the website within the next two weeks. She explained that the CEO had to temporarily hire someone to translate each update into english and that this was expensive. Sigh! I guess if they need to spend money I would rather they spent it on finishing and shipping the dolls rather than on updating the website. that being said, I still think they should post a notice on the "News and Notice" page once a week.

Anyway, I wish I had more to tell you. I did ask about my own order and my doll will ship out in two weeks (Lol) just like everyone elses...which is fine with me. As long as they ship her when they say they will, I will be a happy camper!!!

    13. I've seen Evelien's doll this weekend and it has an amount of yellowing that should not have happened in such a short time. Is anyone else with a tan or other colour doll experiencing fast yellowing?

After looking at the pictures Evelien posted last month again, the yellowing is visible in those picturse:
When I originally saw the pictures I thought the colours were somehow distorted as that sometimes happens at the edges of a picture depending on certain factors and I didn't think much of it. Now that I have seen the doll in person, I can say the pictures show the doll in the condition that I got to see it.

    14. Oh no :(. How are the wrists right now? Did Evelien get to compare her Narae to Anne Mae's?

    15. Yep, I did. The ankles are the same, but the wrists are definitely slightly bulgier. The colour difference shocked me. I had no idea. I'm colourblind and to be honest I still don't see it.

    16. Chiming in to agree. We compared Narae's (and Narin's, as Muisje's Narin was there too) and there's definately a difference in the way the wrists look. The ankles are ok.
The colour difference was more disturbing though, and that after such a short time. Definately a serious flaw. I have three Realskin Narae's myself, two are by Bimong from early 2011 and one is by D-Storic from 2012 and none of them shows even the slightest hint of green or other discoloration, even or uneven.

@Evelien: I'm really sorry about your girl. For what it's worth: I still think she is really beautiful despite the flaws, and meeting her was a strangely mixed experience of 'omg she's SO pretty!!' and 'oh the poor girl has flaws'. I can imagine that your love for her is on the backburner for now though like you said, with all this stress around D-Storic and not knowing whether you will get a replacement doll or not.
I so hope D-Storic will start to make good on their promises, and soon.

    17. OMG poor girl! :(

I REALLY hope d-storic follows through...I still maintain the belief that there are more than 5 people affected by the bad resin batch. :(

    18. Evelien, I am really sorry about your doll. The doll does seem very yellow and the wrist doesn't look normal either. Did you attempt to contact D-storic about this? I know they don't respond to customers, but I think, they need to be told about this. I always thought, that it was strange that only 5 dolls were supposed to be defective. To be honest, I am starting to think there are quite a few more, but D-storic is saying anything they can think of , to try to calm people down. Just like they said, that they will ship the remaining dolls by next Monday, including replacement dolls for people with defective dolls. Meanwhile they still don't respond to any messages, don't answer any questions, etc. It's also strange, that they only say all these things, now that Jeanette called them! They didn't call anyone and they made NO anouncement to that fact on their site. Even after they spoke to Jeanette on the phone, they did not answer one question on their board or posted any new messages. This entire mess with D-storic is not going to have a good ending, I am afraid.

    19. They have to hire a translator to respond/post messages. Translators get paid by amount of words translated, and with all that's going on it's not shocking that they haven't replied if they have to hire someone outside the company to read and reply to messages, especially when you have people posting several copies of their messages on the message board and who knows how many emails. They're already losing money, so they aren't going to go out of their way to hire a translator and spend more money. There is no way they'd be able to meet the 2 week deadline if they stopped to read and reply to dozens of repetitive messages. While I don't agree that they should be silent, if it means not having to wait even longer to receive my doll, then I'd rather they focused on production for now.

As for defective dolls, I really hope that they do something about it! But my guess is that any replacements won't happen until they finish the orders they still need to fulfill. A replacement is going to take time to make anyway. :c Hopefully their communication will improve once they've finished.

    20. At this point I think D-storic posting a message in Korean and then let customers translate it with the aid of an online translation program is 100% better than no communication at all. Having no money for a translator is understandable. No communication at all is not.

@Evelien: I think the arms and top of the torso have yellowed as much as they can, so you could try to let the doll sit around naked for a while and see if the rest of the body yellows too. That way the whole doll may become even coloured again. It's not the tan colour you paid for, but it's not sickly green either.
The best solution would be a new doll or a refund from D-storic, but in case that doesn't happen, going for complete yellowing is an alternative.
