1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DaisyDayes' centaur, Elise [17cm of cuteness]!!!!

Apr 8, 2011

    1. Just an FYI, although she comes painted, face up and body, the body is a light shimmer and can be customized really easily. Or you can wipe her clean and do your own. The resin is smooth as silk but not slick, chalk pastel or paint goes on really nicely.

    2. Oh, jeez. I'm in trouble.

    3. One other question. I see she comes with the tail already. From what I've seen & read on the other forum, though, I wonder is this is something that could be changed out, if someone wanted to do a different colour scheme to match a wig? :3

I'm not sure that I would, as she looks very lovely that way, but it's always good to know.

    4. Oh, please do. That picture has been in my mind for years...I adore the Elfdoll tinys, and your Min-taur was the most amazing custom. I'd always wondered if you would make more of those girls, I didn't realize these girls were that much bigger.

That's great! I'll head over and tackle the 60+ page thread!

    5. *dances* I got interviewed by Mae from BJDcollectasy, if anyone wants to peek
      http://www.bjdcollectasy.com/articles/daisy-dayes.html

Clochette, I dug out the post that has my Min on a tiny-taur body

Malaryush, the tail she comes with is not going to be permanently attached, so you'll be able to change her tail as easy as you would a wig!

Eliza's tail was made using loose alpaca hair glued to a pipe-cleaner just like the Breyer Horse hobbyists do for their tails. (would anyone want me to try and take pictures of the process? I make wigs for my tinies the same way Rainman showed for his tinies)
Also, if people aren't wanting to make their own tails and wigs, 1mim here on DOA can make wig/tail combos, she does fab work!

and, to anyone wanting to paint their centaurs and make them unique, YAY!!! they really can be a blast to paint, sooooo many options! I would LOVE so much to see a bunch of centaurs painted up by you all! I'm bouncing with excitement at the thought!

    6. These are just to die for! I have to add myself to the list of those who can't get her though. :( I look forward to seeing some owner pics!

    7. Ooh, that's good news. :D I'm not positive whether I'll be brave enough to do much customization right off the bat, but it's good to know I can if I get hit by the bug! Heck, I could see ending up with a whole array of tails to pick from. ^^

I've been thinking I'd like to turn mine into a dappled grey, at some point. I don't know that I have the skill for it, but practice makes perfect, right?

I would love to see pictures of the tail-making process if it isn't too much trouble, else I can try searching around for information on the Breyer Horses. :3

    8. Daisy, thank you, thank you, thank you :) If you ever decide to cast those size bodies, please please keep me in mind. There's no way I could resist.

If I get one of the Elise centaurs, Pam has already said she wants to paint her. Yay!

    9. Im so glad the order period wont be closing until the 30th, I will be ordering one next friday! Now that ive jumped on the bandwagon I will have to figure out how to customize my gorgeous lady 'taur when she comes in july...

    10. We will include a tail but maybe Daisy you could show people how to make others for themselves. It is really easy as I found out. I have already ordered 5 colors of mohair for mine. Maybe we could also put up a pattern for the wig, for those who would like to try their hand at that too.

    11. Ooh, a wig pattern would be awesome, too! ^_^

I figured I could just wing it by modifying other wig tutorials I've seen, but if there's a pattern, I might be able to start making wigs and tails in advance and have a whole array by the time I'm ready to welcome my wee ponygirl. X3

    12. *taps chin* I tried to take some tail-making pictures yesterday, but black alpaca hair....doesn't really look like anything on the camera...."Glue this black blob to this black blob and yadda yadda..." I'll have to try again with some light colored hair, sorry for the delay in that!

the only wig pattern I know how to sew (rather than using loose hairs) is from a pattern here on DOA....or maybe DA...I'll look and link!

Miss Moss by daisydayes, on Flickr
Another of my favorite ways to paint a centaur....a la My little Pony style!
(Miss Moss belongs to Miss Ally, but said I could share one of my pictures of her here!)

    13. oh! Miss Moss......... i love her so much......*winks*

    14. I just love the delicate lines of Elise´s face, and I think it´s wonderful these beauties will be casted for sale too! Daisy your creations are the most darling and unique!

    15. That's a VERY enabling pic, Daisy! Love the "My Little Ponies" styling! So precious! :fangirl:

    16. She really does look adorable with that painting style! ^^ And thank you for at least trying with the tail tutorial. I definitely know the frustration of ending up with undecipherable photos of dark objects. XD

    17. Oh, she is so, so cute! I must have one of these girls, because I have been planning a MLP style centaur BJD for ages and this girl is perfect. Her horse bits are the most accurately depicted I have ever seen-- you can tell Daisy knows horses!

    18. This little one is making me break my vow of one bjd only! She's so cute. Will there be a stringing tut with her? Or will it be pretty straifht forward when i take her apart? I have quiet a few ideas for painting her and can't wait to get mine!

    19. Oh I hope there's a stringing tutorial when she starts shipping. That would be terrifying to "wing it", lol! Im still hoping for a tail tutorial too :)

    20. Eeek, yeah, stringing with that many limbs sounds pretty intimidating. XD
