1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dealing with impatience...............

Nov 10, 2015

    1. I mostly just feed my impatience  Looking at other owner photos, watching videos on Youtube, etc. I do find that focusing on my other dolls help but that's no good when you're waiting for your first doll!

    2. I'd say "it gets easier after your first" but it only gets easier by a small amount. I'm still standing and pacing constantly each time.

I try not to think about it too much so that it'll come quicker. I also watch other people doing box openings on similar dolls, or dolls from the same company (even if this does make me more excited and impatient). Making plans for what to do when the doll comes is good too!

    3. After being in the hobby for several years, I've gotten significantly more patient than when I first joined. I've purchased dolls on the marketplace and received them days after paying, and others I've purchased directly from the company. My longest wait was 13 months for a doll! After that, the standard 3 months doesn't feel so bad! I am almost more impatient about upcoming releases, and once I have my order in I feel like I can relax knowing I've secured it.

    4. Waiting so long for first dolls can drive me a bit...batty. But the good thing is that I ordered during an event, so at least I can get an extra head. I will order an extra body as well, but I think having two dolls at once will make waiting for the third doll not so bad. But I haven't even gotten my order confirmation yet, so I'm freaking out. It's only been a week though, so I think that's fairly normal, especially if the company is small, which I assume it is.

    5. I'm waiting for a doll right now and I'm currently trying to take my mind off it by finishing schoolwork and writing reports... But yes, it's really hard to wait.

    6. First dolls are hard to wait for...especially because there are so many expectations. I have a few dolls now and they keep me busy while waiting for the next member of my crew. But even if I'm not waiting on a new doll, I stay busy with other interests that are non doll related. And for doll related things, I'm always on the search for new artists and general research about the hobby.

    7. I'm feeling especially impatient because my first doll's been shipped! D:

    8. I'm (im)patiently waiting for my first doll to arrive. I know the people who make, sculpt and paint them are artists so can appreciate it takes time to make them but it had crossed my mind several times what quite takes sooooo long, but the explanation that some of the 'doll companies' are very small with only a few people explains it somewhat.

    9. I was quite impatient when I first started in the hobby, but now, I just do other things; like more research on clothes, shoes, wigs etc. I am happy if I have their outfits ready to go when I get the dolls. Happy Days :hamster:

    10. I'm definitely having those thoughts right now. One of the dolls I ordered came and I love her to pieces, but I have two more on the way, one of which being from Doll Chateau, which won't be until August! And I'm thinking about another doll since it's basically my grail and the time seems right to buy, but I just don't know! This impatience is destroying me slowly. :huh?:

    11. I'm in the same position - I ordered my first doll a month ago and I've been dying while waiting for her to get here! I've been occupying myself spamming refresh on my order page and DOA, lol. I think it's calming to look at other peoples' box openings, kind of quenches the thirst. Hopefully the subsequent waits'll be easier to handle once I have one doll to keep me busy so I can actually work on sewing clothing and dressing her up!
