It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. DearMine Dear Pet, Classic 20cm & Beans 12cm Anthros Discussion Part 3

Jun 11, 2016

    1. Sadly, yes, there is such a thing as too many dolls! (I'm getting near 100 and that is way too many!!!!) :aeyepop: --Although there is a lot of good in too many, too! :sweat

Gah-- Lupy was so hard to resist! Those Beans are totally like crack (and all the rest of the dolls, too, but the beans are just too cute!).

The pinstripe pants are OK because they are so widely spaced, and so fine. I didn't even notice they had stripes, and wouldn't have thought "suit pants" immediately even if I did notice.

My DM dolls seem to be 2 Cocoa (which is a great color, too), 3 White, 2 Canaria. I'd LOVE an ash Loc!!!! That was one of the ones I was really attracted to, but missed that sale period. I ended up with a DL Nocturn in ws, but still love that little Loc. :love

It's still kind of hard to explain... sort of a mellow butter? Of course, every color changes depending on the light and color-correction in photos...! :? For Lupy, I sort of wanted her to be more yellow-gold than the mellower color, but all dressed up, and with the right faceup, it totally works. And the color works for orange-y kitties, too, I think! Too bright a yellow might look too overwhelming.

She is adorable!!! Hm! weird that DM sent eyes that wouldn't fit. I guess the eye wells in her might be smaller than Rey's, and they didn't account for that? Those blue eyes look good in her. Does she stand better without the boots? My Rey doesn't stand all that well because of the stringing through the hips keeping his feet together... I'd have thought the boots would help, but maybe not. (I still need to order a pair of boots... bad standing or not, it helps finish his outfit.)

Thanks for posting the photo. I hadn't seen an owner-photo of her. She really is a sweetie. :D

I'm so bad at resisting! I might have ordered the Picasso bean, but I bought one in white at Dollism Plus US--it was so great seeing them in-person--and the tiny size was perfect for being able to easily transport in a suitcase... I was tempted by a BUNCH of other dolls they had on the table, but they weren't well set up to take credit cards or Paypal!, so that kind of made things difficult for me (credit is my friend when emptying my bank account). On the other hand, it saved me from being an even worse doll-hoarder... :frownyblush:
Here's shot of the DearMine booth at Dollism Plus US (2014)--

(Little Picasso Bean is partially cut off to the far left--up in a little hot-air balloon. It was a cute display! of course, did I get a good picture of that? nooooo! :...()

    2. Ooooh, I love Loc in the ash grey! Amazing color! His little ankles are so cute.

What an adorable expression! I love that skin tone too. What a disappointment that DM sent you the wrong size! Looks like they messed up in more than one way with your order. :/

Wow, that is an amazing doll collection! Now that I have thought about it, I can see that there is a point where it is too many. I collect more than one type of doll/toy, and have had to cut out the smaller collections, due to space. Things can really add up!

Your doll display looks amazing! :D

    3. Oh, that isn't my display! I WISH it was, but it was Dearmine's Booth at Dollism Plus US (bjd con held a few years ago).

BJDs are definitely my main collection now. I've been buying since '04 and haven't ever sold a doll... so doll-hoarding is what happens! :sigh

      I have 8 Dearmines--
      D. Lovers:
      Cocoa Dune
      Heather Million Rose
      Nocturn
      D. Pets:
      Nekomata Roy
      Orange Pekoe Rey
      D. Beans:
      Picasso Bean
      Cocoa Bean (steampunk)
      Lupy

But if I could have bought everything at the Dearmine booth, I would have !!! :XD:

    4. @Kirahfaye Milk is very cute. I had a hard time deciding between her and Rey.

@pepperonipizza I agree on the ankles. I like DM's sheep a lot and wish they'd make a bean sized sheep some day.

@april thanks on the pants. They're not too bad but I know I've got a solid black pair somewhere. It's just a bummer the leatherish ones that came with the outfit don't fit. :...(

I've got a Cocoa Angela on order. It will be my first tan skinned doll from any company. Interested to see how she looks in person. I've got DM dolls from bean to dear shine size. You can see a lot of them in the photo stories I post.

    5. If they make a Bean size...:love That would be too much cuteness!

    6. Here's my main D Bean and D Pet display setup. There's a few strays not pictured but when I saw this spiral staircase thing in a used items store I thought it would be a neat way to display them.

    7. Boo this thread being so active recently is making me wish I brought my DearMine boys to my dorm
      I don't have a roommate anymore so thats not the issue I'm more concerned about transporting my dolls to-and-fro with all my other junk ;w;

    8. Thanks, everyone! I actually can't remember if she stand well on bare feet. I'll have to try it again to see. She can't stand with her feet side by side in the boots, though. She has to have one foot in front of the other like in the photo.

She's my first true anthro and I adore her. I just haven't had much doll time lately to give her much attention. :pout:

      I'm enjoying seeing everyone's DMs!

    9. She's a recent doll isn't she? I've got an older Dearmine from before they did the new bodies and he's....sort of okay barefoot but I don't take too many chances with it anymore  Jin fell over once without warning and while was able to fix his chipped face up I've been wary with all of them since. I've always wondered how the new bodies stood - basically none of my resin gang has shoes so I feel like those probably throw things off a bit haha

    10. scripple I really like the DearMine's cocoa skin tone, had a Dune once in that skin-tone, but then sold it, because just too many dolls. That stairscase is totally cool for doll displaying. What a wonderfull collection! I'm really jealous those Nero's, I really want them too! :whee: Hows the photoshooting for them, does the black resin give hard time to catch photos?
AutumnWyvern I totally understand that problem. I like dolls being at my apartment, but I like take photo's in parents house, so meaning that Picasso bean travels sometimes back and forth. It's a good thing that bean camed with that pouch, but Picasso is traveling little sturdy cardboard travel box with some pillows. But always little bit scared that something will happen to the dolls.

    11. @chibi-kagu thanks on the collection. I'm not a big photographer for photography's sake, but when I used them in various photo stories I never found the black resin to be an issue. Their faceups are high contrast and the black resin is pretty glossy. Also a big part of their appeal to me is their little outfits. I was happy to find swords and scabbards just the right size to go with them.

    12. Wow! Look at that adorable kitty! I love her wig!

    13. I'm really close to ordering my first resin doll, and I've been in love with the Dearmine classic Picasso for so long. I have a question though, how long does it take for them to arrive? How do you display them if they don't stand well on their own? (because it doesn't seem like they can on those lil leggies of theirs)

I have a trip coming up at the end of March, it wouldn't arrive in time for that if I ordered it now, would it?

    14. I can't speak for ordering directly from Dearmine, but if the doll you want is in stock at Denver Doll, you can get it shipped right away (or put it on layaway so it arrives when you want it to).

    15. STANDING---
I think the old bodies stand better than the new ones... the new ones have legs that are strung through the hips that make the legs pop together (difficult to widen the stance). Apparently can be tinkered with with wires to make widening the stance easier--but I haven't tried it yet.

BUT-- you should never leave any of your dolls standing where they can fall and maybe chip something (faceup most likely, but if you have delicate resin parts that might get landed on, that could be bad, too). Standing ability is mostly just good for shooting photos, and then moving your doll to a safer position when finished. That's why stands are useful--and doll furniture for sitting. If it's easy for your doll to fall over and break something, you shouldn't leave them in that position for any length of time--and standing is one of the more risky things to do even with good standers. Of course--with tiny dolls, there's less risk of breaking or chipping things--but faceups are still delicate, and if they fall from a height or fall onto something sharp, damage can still happen. I don't usually use stands for my small dolls, but I only stand them for photos, and most will stand or I prop them up against something.

      WAIT TIMES--
Check out the Dearmine Waiting Room and the link to the Waiting List (on the first page there should be a tab)... that should give you some idea of the times.

    16. Yea my Jin faceplanted in front of me about three minutes after I took my hands off of him - he and my other Dearmine boy have been living in chairs or just sitting every since because there were no stands of the right size available to me at the time. I am distinctly less terrified of my pukis falling over than those two XD

    17. [IMG]

I got my bean a while ago but I thought I'd post here anyway. Her name is Mochi. :)

    18. Gooooood, the bean dragons are so cute it could be illegal! Congrats on her, I love her name and her little ironing set up too!

    19. Also there is possability that magnet parts flies off (like under the closet), becouse of the falling from a heights.
What comes to wait time's, it used to be quite exact, what Dear mine says in the website, which is 50-60 business days. Well I haven't ordered them for while, so can't be sure how its now a days.

Fawne That gotta be cutest householder ever! Just too adorable!

    20. Just for comparison purposes, here's my Bitter Bean with his pals.

The Beans can definitely share tops & dresses with the Mouse, but his large bottom makes pants problematic. :D
